Pros

  • Good performance
  • Great camera features
  • Support for older Apple Pencil stylus
  • Sleek & modern design
  • Good quality display
  • Excellent value

Cons

  • Most expensive budget option
  • 64GB base storage fills very quickly
  • Screen lacks anti-reflective coating

As of right now, you can still snag the iPad 10.9 (2022) from various retailers, but it won’t be on shelves for much longer. So, if you’re reading this and can’t track one down, don’t sweat it! Just go for the iPad A16 (2025) instead – it’s our current top pick for most people looking for an iPad.

But back to the iPad 10.9 (2022). This tablet truly shines for everyday use. It boasts a bright and generously sized 10.9-inch display, a super lightweight aluminum design, and the capable A14 Bionic chipset under the hood. Throw in some decent stereo speakers, and you’ve got a device that’s perfectly suited for streaming your favorite shows, Browse the web, and tackling mild productivity tasks.

It’s a fantastic all-rounder that feels much more premium than many other tablets in its price bracket. Of course, because it’s an Apple device, you’ll still pay a bit of a premium compared to some Android options, even with its current discounted price.

During our testing, the iPad 10.9 (2022) consistently gave us about 10 hours of battery life with constant use, and stretched to almost 22 hours when used casually. While it doesn’t have Face ID, it’s hard to find fault with how effortlessly this device performs, especially for a tablet in this price range.

The best part? This iPad is compatible with iPadOS 18 and will continue to receive software updates, including iPadOS 26, until at least 2027. If you’re looking to mess around with the new Apple Intelligence, you’d need to go for pricier options like the iPad mini (2024) or iPad Air 11 (2025). But for budget-conscious buyers, picking up the iPad 10.9 (2022) at a lower price from third-party retailers makes it a really smart move.

This tablet looks sleek, includes a vibrant 11-inch screen, and delivers solid performance thanks to its Snapdragon chip. It’s a fantastic Android option, plus, you can often find some sweet deals on it.

Samsung has done a great job with its software to make sure things run smoothly. It’s also a fantastic device for streaming all your favorite shows and movies, giving you a clear and vibrant viewing experience.

And if you’re into gaming, it can even manage more demanding titles pretty well, which is a nice bonus for a budget-friendly tablet. Plus, for those who need to stay connected on the go, there’s even a 5G-compatible version available.

Now, it’s not perfect – the battery life could be a bit better, and the base storage might feel a little tight for some. But honestly, those minor points don’t stop the Galaxy Tab A9+ from being among one of the best Android tablets. It truly offers a lot of value for your money and is a great tablet for students.

Lenovo consistently nails the balance between affordability and useful features. The Tab M10 Plus offers a good screen, reliable performance for all your student tasks, and it’s built tough. It’s a versatile Android tablet that handles a wide range of educational apps like a champ.

Now, it’s true, the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 doesn’t have a ton of standout features, and its performance is just “okay.” But here’s where it shines: if you mostly use a tablet for streaming videos or reading e-books, it’s an ideal choice. And a big bonus? It boasts a long battery life (up to 10 hours), so you can enjoy your content without constantly hunting for an outlet.

If you’re thinking about alternatives, you can check out the other tablets on the list. But because of its long battery life and the low price, it’s perfect for students and those with a budget.

  • Audio sounds average

Looking for an affordable Android tablet that competes with entry-level iPads, then let’s look at the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE. Just under US$300, this solid tablet features good performance and good build quality, all whilst providing an excellent Android experience.

It’s is definitely worth considering, looking at how affordable it is compared to other premium tablets. When you think about it, it’s a bit difficult to believe that you can get a solidly built tablet with an aluminum enclosure, a high refresh display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, up to 8GB RAM, and expandable storage, all alongside at least two OS updates. While that all looks good on paper — err, on-screen — it also works well in practice.

This is one tablet you will enjoy using as much as I have. That’s why I see not problem in recommending it especially to students and budget-conscious users. The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE is a midsize tablet that’s great for casual use, with no issues running apps side by side, great for streaming movies, and playing games. Sure, there’s still space for improvement — I wish it had some kind of fingerprint scanner and that the audio speakers would deliver better sound — but for a fair price, this tablet has great value, making it a winner.

It runs on ChromeOS, which is super efficient, and it often comes with a detachable keyboard, making it perfect for typing essays and keeping your assignments organized. .

This tablet is a definite upgrade from its predecessor, the original Duet. It runs on ChromeOS, which is super efficient, and it often comes with a detachable keyboard, making it perfect for typing essays and keeping your assignments organized. This one boasts excellent battery life, frequently lasting over 10 hours on a single charge.

It comes with a boosted display, which is much better, with an upgraded resolution it makes everything you look at just pop. This is a big deal for reading and studying, video streaming, or web browsing.

Then they’ve added a second USB-C port, which is super useful. It means you can now plug it in for power and connect a USB hub at the same time. So, if you’ve got a favorite keyboard and mouse (or any other accessories), you can use them without constantly swapping cables. This added flexibility is one of the main reasons one of our editors even picked this Chromebook over an Android tablet!

If you’re in the market for a surprisingly good Chrome tablet that costs under US$400 and can easily transform into a Chromebook when you need to get some serious typing done, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is a solid choice. It’s a reliable little workhorse that won’t let you down.

6 – Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)

  • Storage: 32GB / 64GB / 128GB
  • Memory: 2GB / 3GB / 4GB
  • OS: Android 11
  • Weight: 508g
  • Battery: 7040 mAh
  • Main camera: 8MP | 1080p videos at 30fps

  • Colors: Gray, Silver, Pink Gold

  • S Pen stylus included
  • Extended software update support
  • Premium metal design
  • Decent audio speakers
  • Samsung Dex support
  • Decent performance

Cons

  • Average refresh rate at 60Hz
  • No fingerprint reader
  • Older aesthetics design

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a really solid contender against the iPad, and frankly, it might just be the best non-premium tablet Samsung has ever released.

The Tab S6 Lite has some real strengths that make it shine. For starters, it comes with the S Pen included, which is a huge bonus if you love taking notes by hand or getting a little creative with your tablet. You also get a good amount of software customization options, letting you tweak things to your liking. And let’s not forget its design – it feels pretty robust and looks good, definitely punching above its weight class in terms of build quality.

However, it’s not entirely perfect. You might run into a few performance hiccups here and there. Nothing major that will stop you in your tracks, but it’s worth noting that it’s not going to be as buttery smooth as a top-tier tablet. These minor stutters could affect your overall experience if you’re pushing it with very demanding apps or heavy multitasking.

Despite that small catch, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite offers a fantastic balance of features, design, and value, making it a truly well-rounded option.

7 – Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Display: 10.5-inch, LCD, 1200 x 1920
  • CPU: Unisoc Tiger T618
  • Storage: 32GB / 64GB / 128GB
  • Memory: 2GB / 3GB / 4GB
  • OS: Android 11
  • Weight: 508g
  • Battery: 7040 mAh
  • Main camera: 8MP | 1080p videos at 30fps
  • Front camera: 5MP
  • Colors: Gray, Silver, Pink Gold

Pros

  • Affordable price
  • Great display
  • Expandable memory up to 1TB

Cons

  • Long charging time

If the Tab A9 or the A9+ is not within your budget radar, then the Galaxy Tab A8 is the better alternative in 2025. And honestly, that makes it a pretty compelling option for anyone looking to save some cash.

Think of the Galaxy Tab A8 as Samsung’s answer to Apple’s more affordable iPad options. If you’re after an Android-powered tablet that can genuinely rival an iPad, this one (or its newer A9 sibling) should definitely be on your radar.

With Google’s Android operating system giving you tons of flexibility and a nice, big HD display, the 10.5-inch Tab A8 is a real winner for kicking back with movies or just casually Browse the web. We found that this tablet also delivers a long battery life, so you can easily dive into a movie marathon without constantly checking for an outlet. Just a heads-up though, it can take a little while to fully charge up.

Now, it’s not the most powerful tablet out there – if you’re looking for top-tier performance, Apple’s iPad 10.9 (2022) still has the edge in our books. But for everyday media consumption and using basic apps around the house, the Galaxy Tab A8 is a really solid choice.

If you’re willing to stretch your budget a bit, but not quite into “Ultra” tablet territory, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus is another excellent option to consider. Also, we’re expecting an even newer version of the Galaxy Tab A – probably the Galaxy Tab A10 – to launch in the first half of 2025. So, if you’re not in a huge rush, waiting a few more months before pulling the trigger on the Galaxy Tab A8 might just pay off.

Why Buy Affordable Tablets?

You might be thinking, “Shouldn’t I just save up for a premium expensive tablet instead?” While the premium tablets are great, there are some really compelling reasons why going for an affordable option, especially as a student, just makes sense:

Smart for the Wallet: Let’s face it, tablets are expensive, even for students. Spending less on a tablet means more money for textbooks, tuition, or even just some much-needed coffee to keep you up. You can get a highly capable device without feeling the pinch.

Less Stress, More Learning: There’s something liberating about not constantly worrying about a super expensive gadget. If it takes a tumble (accidents happen), or gets misplaced, the financial hit isn’t as severe. This lets you focus on your studies, not on coddling your tech.

Perfectly Capable for Student Needs: For most academic tasks – reading textbooks, taking notes, researching online, attending video calls, and organizing your schedule – a budget tablet does the job well. You don’t really need the absolute latest processor or an ultra-fancy camera for schoolwork.

Portable Power: Affordable tablets are typically lightweight and easy to carry, fitting perfectly into a backpack alongside your books. Plus many offer exceptional battery life, meaning you’re not tethered to a power outlet during a long day of classes and study groups.

Gateway to the Digital World: For many, an affordable tablet is an excellent entry point into digital learning tools. It opens up access to countless educational apps, e-books, and other online resources, enhancing your learning without a huge upfront investment.

So, while the premium gadgets have their place, a well-chosen budget tablet can be the smartest, most practical tool for navigating student life.

Final thoughts

So there you have it. Finding the best budget tablets for students doesn’t have to be a headache. As you’ve seen, there are some truly fantastic options out there that deliver great performance, solid features, and most importantly, battery life that will actually last through your toughest study sessions. You don’t need to empty your savings account to get a reliable tool that will genuinely boost your academic game.

Whether you lean towards Apple’s iPads, Samsung’s versatile Android experience, or the no-frills practicality a Chromebook hybrid, there’s a tablet on this list that’s just right for your needs and your budget. These devices prove that affordability doesn’t mean compromising on the essentials.

Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) Review: Return of the Great

Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 Review

Motorola Razr Ultra (2025)

“…faster hardware, a better screen, a more versatile camera setup, a larger battery, and faster charging. On paper, it’s a truly promising package.”

Welcome, tech enthusiasts. Today, we’re diving deep into the highly anticipated Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) Review. If you’ve been watching the foldable phone space, you know Motorola has been consistently pushing boundaries. With their new foldable this year, they’ve truly raised the bar.

Gone are the days when choosing a flip phone meant compromising on performance or camera quality. The 2025 Razr Ultra isn’t just a stylish throwback; it’s a powerful mobile device that blends iconic design with cutting-edge technology. From its stunning, remarkably fast displays to its surprisingly capable cameras, Motorola has clearly listened to what the audience want.

So, is this the foldable that finally brings together everything you’ve been looking for in a smartphone? Let’s unfold the details and find out if the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) truly delivers an “ultra” experience.

Overview

The iconic Razr is back, and it’s brought its A-game with the new Razr 60 Ultra a.k.a the Razr Ultra (2025). It’s a flip or foldable phone, but not just any. It boasts a super compact design, an incredibly fast 165Hz Dolby Vision screen, and the absolute best in mobile processing with the popular Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

This new model brings some truly spot-on improvements over its predecessor, the Razr 50 Ultra. We’re talking about a higher screen resolution, a flagship-level chipset, an ultrawide camera with macro capabilities, and a much-appreciated larger battery.

For our North American friends, you’ll know this as the Motorola Razr Ultra, and rest assured, our findings based on the Razr 60 Ultra apply to your model too.

The Razr 60 Ultra features a stunning 7.0-inch AMOLED foldable screen with a sharp 1224 x 2992 pixel screen resolution. With the 165Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10 support means your content will look incredible. This updated screen resolution is a welcome upgrade from the 1080p on the Razr 50 Ultra.

The cover screen, however, remains the same awesome 4-inch 1080p AMOLED display, matching the capabilities of the main foldable screen.

Under the hood, the Razr Ultra runs on the most powerful chipset available: the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

When it comes to cameras, Motorola didn’t hold back. You get two 50MP rear cameras: a primary wide-angle with OIS that can even give you up to 2x lossless zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus for those expansive panoramic and detailed macro shots. Nice! But wait, there’s more – the selfie camera is also a 50MP sensor, a significant upgrade from the 32MP on the 50 Ultra (though it doesn’t have autofocus).

To keep you going longer, the new model is powered by a larger 4,700mAh battery, and it supports both fast wired and wireless charging.

One more thing that’s probably the most obvious change is the redesigned back panel. Depending on the Pantone color you choose, you can get up to four color finishes.

It really feels like Motorola improved pretty much everything we thought needed an upgrade on the previous model: faster hardware, a better screen, a more versatile camera setup, a larger battery, and faster charging. On paper, it’s a truly promising package. Now, let’s see how it performs in your hands.

Specs

  • Main display: 7-inch AMOLED (2992 x 1224) 165HZ
  • Cover display: 4-inch AMOLED (1272 x 1080) 165Hz

  • OS: Android 15

Reasons to Buy

Impressive Performance

The Razr Ultra 2025 is a real powerhouse. Whether you’re just using it for day-to-day tasks or gaming, this phone’s performance delivers.

It comes equipped with one of the best processors in Android phones today: the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It delivers the most impressive performance to date, running apps and mobile games smoothly such as Age of Magic, Fortnite, or Call of Duty Mobile.

From benchmark tests, it matches with some of the top premium smartphones like the OnePlus 13, which also comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. If you compare it to the latest Galaxy S25 phone, the results are slightly less but still fast.

The only downside I experienced was when i was downloading a bunch of apps or using AI features that are cloud-based. Sometimes, a button press would be a little unresponsive then, but that’s about it. In the the performance of the Razr Ultra is impressive.

Great design & trendy color options

The new Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 is here, and at first glance, it looks a lot like last year’s model. But don’t let that fool you. While the design is familiar, Motorola has really stepped things up with some fresh new materials and stylish colors inspired by ‘Pantone’.

Imagine getting your hands on one in Mountain Trail, which looks like it’s made from wood, or perhaps the vibrant Rio Red, the elegant Cabaret (red-pink), or the sophisticated Scarab (dark emerald) in Alcantara suede. Frankly, no other phone on the market feels quite like this. Motorola has truly perfected the Razr’s design, making it a joy to hold and use.

In terms of durability, the Razr Ultra features:

  • Tough external & internal display with Corning Gorilla glass-ceramic protection
  • IP48 rating for water and dust resistance
  • New titanium hinge to help fold without compromise & crease prevention on screen

For those of you wondering about the infamous crease on flip or foldable phones, let me put your mind at ease. It truly never bothered me for a second. The crease is barely visible and incredibly easy to ignore. If you’ve never used a foldable before, it might look a bit dramatic in pictures, but in person, it’s actually quite smooth. When you’re looking at the unfolded screen straight on, you won’t even notice the crease.

Bright & detailed displays

When you think about the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025, it’s really best to consider it a two-screen device, and honestly, the cover display is where a lot of the magic happens.

Using the phone closed and interacting solely with that 4-inch cover screen feels incredibly smart and convenient. I really enjoyed discovering new ways to incorporate it into my day. For instance, it transformed into a compact hiking navigator, and even a Slack monitor, which helped keep my main desktop much tidier. And get this: that 4-inch cover display isn’t just useful for certain apps, it’s also incredibly advanced, boasting a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Now that’s awesome.

The inner main display is just as impressive. We’re talking about a 7-inch, AMOLED panel that’s Dolby Vision certified. This screen is nearly the same size as the 6.9-inch display on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, yet the Razr 60 Ultra manages to make it thinner and 20g lighter than the Galaxy.

Here’s a little something for the video streamers on the go: Samsung still doesn’t support Dolby Vision. So, if you’re a big Netflix fan, that feature could give the Razr Ultra’s display a significant edge over Samsung’s top-tier screen.

Superb battery life

You know how some phones just die on you before the day’s out? Well, the Razr Ultra isn’t one of them! In my week of testing, this phone was a champ. Seriously, it just kept going and going all day, every single day, without needing a top-up.

Whether I was crushing work tasks, hopping on video calls, using productivity apps, or just gaming on the go, the Razr Ultra 2025 never gave up. It consistently made it all the way until I hit the hay – no last-minute scrambling for a charger.

And get this: from testing the battery life of the phone, the Razr Ultra lasted up to 18 hours of battery life. That’s just five minutes less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which comes with a bigger battery. This really shows that Moto’s power management is seriously on point.

When it finally needs a charge, the 4700mAh battery included supports up to 68W. And from juicing it up, with the right Motorola charger, you can get a full battery charge in just under 45mins. Sadly, the 68W charger does not come included with the phone so you going to have to find it.

Impressive camera features

Let’s talk about the cameras on the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025), because honestly, this has always been a bit of a tricky spot for Razr phones. But I’m happy to report that the dual 50MP cameras on this new model have gotten better.

From playing around with the camera, I’ve genuinely been more impressed with the images from this flip phone than any other I’ve used before. It’s clear that AI processing has played a significant role here.

When compared to the likes of the iPhone 16 Pro, the Razr Ultra actually showed less noise and better detail in distant shots, like signs. While a close look might reveal a bit of artificial sharpening, the final result is still very pleasing. So, while these might not be the absolute best cameras out there, they are certainly very good.

You’re definitely not sacrificing photo quality anymore just to get that cool flip phone experience. In fact, the Razr Ultra surprised me by sometimes outperforming even some top camera phones. Its macro mode is particularly excellent, capturing sharper and more vibrant low-light macro shots than the Pixel 9 Pro, which is no small feat.

Motorola seems to have taken a page from Samsung’s book when it comes to color tuning. Photos are “Pantone validated” to be incredibly vibrant, making pictures stand out, even against dull backgrounds.

You’ll find plenty of modes to play with, including a Pro mode for more control and a cool camcorder mode. And the Photo Booth feature, which uses the folded phone as its own stand, is just brilliant for group shots or selfies. There’s always room for a little fine-tuning, but this Razr truly no longer feels like a compromise when it comes to cameras, especially when you’re taking selfies using that main 50MP camera and the convenient cover display.

Reasons Not to Buy

It’s expensive

Let’s talk about the price of the new Motorola Razr Ultra 2025. It’s Motorola’s most premium Razr to date, kicking off at US$1,299. If you’re in the US and looking for more storage, a 1TB model is available but will cost you US$200 more, though that option isn’t available in the UK.

Yes, this phone is definitely expensive – we’re talking top-tier territory. What’s even worse is that it’s even pricier than an iPhone 16 Pro Max

Now, you might be wondering if it’s worth the investment. I’d argue that you actually get more value for your money with the Razr Ultra.

Consider this: the Galaxy Ultra offers a stylus. Do you genuinely need a stylus? Maybe. The iPhone 16 Pro Max gives you… well, more iPhone. Both of those devices might have more cameras, but that’s largely where the differences end.

The Razr, on the other hand, gives you a huge, foldable display that practically disappears into your pocket, and a 4-inch cover display that’s actually larger than the screen on the original iPhone. It truly feels like you’re getting two distinct phones in one.

Beyond the unique functionality, you also get a design with unparalleled colors and materials. If you’re into the sleek look of natural titanium and deep blues, Apple and Samsung have you covered. But if you prefer the tactile feel of real wood or soft suede, Motorola is definitely the way to go.

The Moto AI button

There’s a new button on the left side of the Razr Ultra 2025, and by now if you guessed it right – yes. It’s for AI, called the ‘Moto AI‘. This button is dedicated solely to Motorola’s AI features, and unfortunately, you can’t customize it to do anything else (though you can set it to do nothing at all if you prefer).

To be fair, you can link Motorola’s intriguing “Pay Attention” feature to this new button, which is pretty cool, but I have to admit, it’s a bit frustrating to see a whole new button dedicated just for AI. Especially since Google’s Gemini AI already uses the power button on the other side. So, yes, you’ll have two different AI buttons on opposite sides of your Razr, which is a head-scratcher for sure.

Minor compromises

Even though the Razr Ultra looks impressive overall and comes with great features, there are some minor things to note: Firstly, if you like zooming in to get that perfect shot with the cameras, the Razr Ultra doesn’t have that function.

Secondly, the stereo speakers included deliver decent sound but not as great as other premium brands. And lastly, to get the best charging experience you need the Motorola ‘TurboPower’ charger which unfortunately is sold separately.

Verdict

After spending quality time with the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025), my verdict is clear: this isn’t just another foldable phone; it’s a statement. Motorola has genuinely addressed the past criticisms and delivered a device that feels complete, capable, and premium.

From its refined design and new materials to the vibrant, smooth displays and improved cameras, the Razr Ultra (2025) stands out as a strong contender in the high-end smartphone market.

It’s a phone that offers a unique blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge innovation, proving that you no longer have to sacrifice performance or photographic prowess for that satisfying flip. The dual-screen experience is genuinely useful, transforming how you interact with your device throughout the day, and the overall performance powered by one of the most powerful chips to date.

The Razr Ultra (2025) is more than just a stylish accessory; it’s a well-rounded, powerful smartphone that happens to fold in half. While the dedicated AI button might be a minor quirk, it’s easily overshadowed by the phone’s many strengths.

This device truly feels like a mature, no-compromise foldable that can go head-to-head with the best flagships out there, all while offering a level of portability and tactile satisfaction that’s simply unmatched.

If you’re ready to embrace a smartphone that combines iconic design with modern performance and a truly unique user experience, the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) is definitely worth a closer look. And if you want to find out more, CLICK HERE to do so and to check out the price.

  • Includes adaptive EQ & heart rate monitoring sensor

Cons

  • High price

Forget about heart rate monitoring for a sec and just focus on how well these fit, how comfy they are, and how secure they’ll stay while you’re working a sweat. They’re seriously fantastic for listening to podcasts, audiobooks, and music while you exercise.

And let’s be real, they look super sleek too, thanks to their slim design. Plus, with a ten-hour battery life, they’ll easily get you through any gym session or run without a hitch.

Now, a quick heads-up for all you audio fanatics: if top-notch sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC) are your main priorities, you might be happier with something like the AirPods Pro 2 (which are about the same price). You won’t get that same secure fit for workouts though, but you’ll definitely get better sound and much better ANC for just a little extra cash.

At the end of the day, the Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds are excellent for those who need music during workouts. Those who used them, love them, and you will too. Just give them a try and watch your active lifestyle get even better.

5 – Samsung Galaxy Buds FE

★★★★

Specs

  • Battery life: 9 hours without ANC / 6 hours with ANC
  • Noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IPX2 water resistance
  • Colors: Graphite / White

Pros

  • Surprisingly good audio delivery
  • Good value price
  • Impressive battery life
  • Fits well in ear
  • Great for working out
  • Impressive ANC

Cons

  • Better with Samsung Galaxy devices
  • No wireless charging support
  • Provides EQ presets but limited EQ adjustments
  • Price quite high

The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE not only delivers impressive audio sound but offers impressive active noise cancellation. The price is relatively fair, will fit snuggly into your ear, and comes with an impressive battery life on moderate use.

If you’re one for exercise, depending on the intensity of your workouts, the Buds FE fits and will stay well in your ear. No matter if you go for casual walks or a jog, the Buds FE will stay secure and snuggly.

However, there are some flaws to note. Firstly, they work with all mobile devices, even iPhones or iPads, but you won’t get the full Buds FE experience, unless you have a Samsung Galaxy device. Secondly, as much as the Buds FE offers EQ presets, the EQ options are limited.

Overall, The Buds FE are one of the best headphones to buy because of the decent amount of value, it looks good and feels good, and very simple to use with the right mobile device.

4 – JLab Go Air Pop

★★★★

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 8 hours
  • Noise cancellation: No

  • Colors: Up to 9 choice of colors

Pros

  • Light, small, & comfortable design

  • Reliable connectivity
  • Decent battery life
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • No app support
  • Lacks decent treble
  • Poor sound quality for calls
  • Lacks active noise cancellation

The JLab Go Air Pop are a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a decent pair of workout earbuds that you can include in your luggage. It comes with reliable Bluetooth connectivity, a good 8-hour battery life, great music delivery, and a light comfortable design with an option of 5 colors.

These headphones sound fantastic, unlike many other low-cost workout headphones, so you won’t be distracted by low-volume music or muffled audio. Plus they are comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Although it’s difficult to expect perfection at this price, the Go Air Pop’s are not the best to take and receive calls as the call quality doesn’t sound good. There’s no app support for change of settings on a mobile device, and whilst the sound delivery is great you will notice a lack of treble especially when listening to music.

In the end, the JLab Go Air Pop are unquestionably one of our top choices if you’re looking for an extra pair of buds that you may use for emergencies or as an affordable device for gym, in case you need to replace them after unforeseen accidents.

3 – Shokz OpenRun Pro 2

★★★★★ Best for running

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 12 hours
  • Noise cancellation: No
  • Durability: IP55 water resistance
  • Colors: Black / Orange

Pros

  • Great for long gym sessions
  • Lightweight & well designed
  • Good audio delivery
  • Impressive battery life
  • Comes with app support

Cons

  • High price
  • Can’t adjust fit
  • No active noise cancellation

Check out the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones: One of the best headphones for working out especially if you’re a runner. Even though they transmit sound by vibrating your cheeks, they nonetheless deliver excellent sound quality.

They fit comfortably and securely on your ear, especially when running, allowing you to concentrate on your training rather than constantly adjusting them. They also have MP3 storage built in.

Although there isn’t a charging case included, you will discover that the battery life on the OpenRun Pro 2 will last for about 12 hours between charges, which should last you through the most of your exercises. Expect closer to 10 hours of power if you choose to turn the volume up to the highest setting.

In the end, the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 is the best option if you’re looking for open-design running headphones. They can withstand steamy workouts and mild rainy weather.

2 – Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

★★★★★ Best for Android smartphones

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 8 hours
  • Noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IP54 water resistance
  • Colors: Porcelain / Hazel / Wintergreen / Peony

Pros

  • Lightweight design
  • Effective active noise cancellation
  • Good choice of trendy colors
  • Comfortable for long sessions
  • Good audio quality
  • Great battery life
  • Include wireless charging support

Cons

  • Exclusive to Pixel smartphones
  • Needs occasional adjusting

So, you know how Google is really trying to give Apple a run for its money with its Pixel phones and accessories. Well, it looks like their new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds are pretty much the top pick for Android users looking for workout headphones, even if they’re more focused on those with Google Pixel phones.

One of the coolest new things they’ve added is Google Gemini, which is their fancy new AI. It’s still pretty fresh, so it doesn’t totally replace the old Google Assistant yet, even though it could eventually. We found it’s not always spot-on with its answers, but it’s getting there.

When you’re working out, things like voice assistants and hands-free controls are nice, but not totally essential. What really matters is that your earbuds stay put. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 actually have a new little wing on each earbud to help them lock into your ears. That sounds awesome in theory, but we noticed the wing doesn’t quite reach the very top of your inner ear, so you might still need to adjust them a bit to get that perfect fit for the best noise cancellation.

Google also says they’ve improved the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), but honestly, it’s tough to tell the difference between these and the original Pixel Buds Pro. That being said, it’s still super effective at blocking out unwanted background noise, except for those really high-pitched sounds like a baby crying or a siren wailing.

The sound quality is just as good as the first version too, though you might want to tweak the EQ settings a bit since the default can be a little heavy on the bass.

One more thing to note, similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro, if you’re an intense gym-goer who spends hours working out, these might not be the absolute best fit for really high-impact exercises. But, if you’re looking for a versatile pair of earbuds that work great for your gym sessions and for kicking back at the office, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a fantastic option.

1 – Apple AirPods Pro 2

★★★★★ Best for iPhones

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 6 hours, 30 hours with case
  • Noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IPX4, splash resistance
  • Color: white

Pros

  • Uses Apple’s H1 chipset
  • Integrates well with your iPhone
  • Great audio & noise cancellation
  • Great for casual exercise like jogging & yoga

Cons

  • Only for iPhones
  • Battery life good but not great
  • Not recommended for high intensity workouts
  • Fitting not very secure

If you’re an iPhone user and looking at getting headphones for your workouts, let me tell you about the Apple AirPods Pro 2 earbuds. They’ve got pretty much the same tech as the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, but with that classic Apple stemmed design everyone tries to copy. So, why would you pick these over the more workout-focused Powerbeats Pro 2? Well, it mostly comes down to versatility!

If you’re after one set of earbuds that can handle pretty much anything – from work meetings and phone calls to catching up on podcasts and even your workouts – the AirPods Pro 2 are an ideal choice. They’re not quite as tough as, say, the Jabra Elite 8 Active (that includes strong dust and water resistance), but don’t worry, they’re not going to break easily either.

When I tested these earbuds, they stayed put pretty nicely during my walks and also light workouts, though I did need to adjust them now and then. The only time one actually fell out was when I was doing high-impact moves like burpees. With workouts like those the Airpods Pro 2 are not suited to use, as I often had to twist them back into place. And for short or casual runs, they’re a good option.

And if you’re already deep in the Apple ecosystem, you’ll love how the AirPods Pro quickly connect and share settings with all your devices. Plus, the Spatial Audio feature is a really cool way to experience your music.  The only real downside is the battery life, which you get about 6 hours, which isn’t as much as the 8 hours you’d get from something like the super affordable JLab Go Air Pop.

As great as the Airpods Pro 2 are, the design is the main reason it’s not number 1 on my of best headphones of 2025. The main reason I don’t rate these higher on a list specifically for “best workout headphones” is mostly because of the design – they just aren’t made for intense sports, and they’re not as securely fitting as you’d need for all high-intensity workouts. But for everyday use with your iPhone, including things like yoga, HIIT sessions, and casual runs, they’re an absolutely great choice!

Final Thoughts

Alright, so we’ve talked about what makes some headphones fantastic during workout sessions – from how snugly they fit to how they handle a splash (or a downpour). Finding the perfect pair really comes down to what you need for your workouts.

Whether you’re a hardcore runner who needs unbeatable stability and sweat-proofing, a gym enthusiast who thrives on powerful bass and noise cancellation, or someone who just wants reliable tunes for their daily walk, there’s always a great pair of headphones out there for you. And the best part is: You can choose one of these as they are the best headphones for working out in 2025.

If you find this helpful, please share your thoughts and your opinions on the comments section below. And if you wanna find out more about these headphones, you are more than welcome to click on the corresponding blue buttons.

So, what are you waiting for? Take what you’ve learned, think about your fitness routine, and go find the headphones that will truly elevate your workouts. Your ears (and your motivation) will thank you. As always, stay safe until next time 😀

Design

The first thing you will notice with the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 is the slimmer design, at 6.5mm when unfolded and 13.7mm when folded – making it even more pocket-friendly. The hinges have also been reinforced, calling it the ‘Armor FlexHinge’ to increase the phone’s durability. It also weighs 188g, which is a little heavier than its predecessor, and the frame is built using strong aluminum material, calling it the ‘Armor Aluminum’. Let’s not forget the familiar ‘Gorilla Glass Victus 2′ for screen protection.

It also has the same IP48 rating as before, meaning that it can withstand up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. Samsung even says they’ve made the internal parts of the phone even more waterproof this year – nice. For colors, you’ve got some cool options: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and Mint. Just so you know, that Mint color is only available directly from Samsung’s online store.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

Now, there’s also the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. This one is pretty much identical to the older Z Flip 6 in terms of design. It has the same 6.7-inch, 120Hz main screen, a 3.4-inch, 60Hz cover screen, and the same weight and size as the Z Flip 6. It also shares the IP48 rating and comes in classic black or whiteIn terms of the design, we can say it pretty much looks bigger, better, heavier, and more durable than the previous model. Yet it retains the water resistance. The Z Flip 7 FE, however, has not really changed from the Z Flip 6 with the design.

Display

Both screens are bigger and look better than ever. The main foldable display is now a 6.9-inch, giving you more room to view content. But the real star is the cover screen on the outside. It’s grown to 4.1 inches and now takes up almost the entire front section – no more separate panel for the cameras like on the Z Flip 6.

Plus, it finally has a super smooth 120Hz refresh rate. That’s a huge leap from the 60Hz, and both screens still come with the same gorgeous AMOLED panels, of course. In the end, the screens are larger, look and feel smoother.

Performance

Let’s dive into what’s powering the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its FE sibling. So, just as the rumors hinted, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is running on an Exynos 2500 chipset. Now, this is definitely a high-end chip, but it’s worth noting it’s different from, and potentially not quite as powerful, as the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The Flip 7 also comes with a solid 12GB of RAM, so it should still be super zippy for your everyday tasks. Not much more we say about the performance, until detailed testing is done.

Galaxy AI & Software

When it comes to software, both the Z Flip 7 and the Z Flip 7 FE will launch with One UI 8, which is Samsung’s take on Android 16. This means you’ll get all the latest Android features, plus some cool AI tools and features specifically designed for foldable phones. For instance, the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s cover screen will even give you access to Gemini Live, which sounds pretty futuristic.

Battery Life

Here’s some great news for the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7: the battery life is said to be better. It’s gone from 4,000mAh in the previous model to a healthier 4,300mAh. That’s pretty impressive, especially since the phone itself is actually slimmer.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, however, sticks with the 4,000mAh battery. Both new Flip phones support 25W wired charging, which is decent, and they also come with handy wireless and reverse wireless charging – perfect for juicing up other accessories.

Cameras

When it comes to the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 actually keeps the same specs as its predecessor. So, you’re looking at a dual-lens: 50MP (wide) main camera, and a 12MP (ultra-wide) lens (which captures a nice wide 123-degree view). Then on the cover screen, you’re looking at a 10MP (wide) front-facing camera.

While there aren’t any big hardware upgrades here, these cameras are still quite capable. And the good news is that, if you’re thinking about the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE – it also has these exact same camera specs. So, you won’t be compromising on your photo quality if you go for that model.

Even without new hardware, both phones come loaded with various camera modes and AI features to help you get great shots. For instance, the Z Flip 7 has an enhanced Nightography mode that’s designed to make your low-light photos look even better.

And there’s a cool feature called Dual Preview, which lets both you (the photographer) and your subject see the photo composition on the screen before you even snap the picture – super handy for getting everyone perfectly in frame. So, while the hardware might be familiar, the software tweaks should still make for an enjoyable photo-taking experience.

Final Thoughts

So, let’s break down the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its FE sibling. At first glance, they might not seem like a massive leap from the Z Flip 6, but don’t let that fool you. It actually packs some pretty appealing upgrades. We’re talking about bigger screens, a slimmer and more stylish design, and a larger battery. Plus, it comes with a more powerful chipset. All these things combined could make it a really compelling phone.

There are still a few unknowns, like exactly how its Exynos 2500 chipset will stack up against the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in other top phones, and just how much that boosted battery capacity will truly impact daily use. But on paper, it definitely sounds like a promising device. While it might not have as many exciting upgrades as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it’s also much more affordable, which could easily make the Galaxy Z Flip 7 a popular choice for budget users. As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, it honestly doesn’t seem all that different from the Galaxy Z Flip 6. So, its main selling point might really just be its relatively lower price.

So let’s hear from you. What do you think of these new flip smartphones? Does the Z Flip 7 sound like it could be your next go-to? Let me know by leaving your comments here below. And if you wanna from out more about them, CLICK HERE and check out what on offer. See you next time, until then 😀

Design

Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is here, and it’s got some pretty awesome upgrades that make it even more sleek. First off, the Z Fold 7 is way thinner than the previous model. When it’s open, it’s just a tiny 4.2mm thick, and when it’s folded shut, it’s only 8.9mm. That’s a huge step up from the Z Fold 6, which was 5.6mm open and 12.1mm closed. This means that even when it’s folded, it’s hardly thicker than a regular smartphone – for example, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is 8.2mm thick. Not that’s awesome.

Next, and here’s another shocker: the Z Fold 7 is actually lighter than the S25 Ultra. It weighs in at a mere 215g, while the S25 Ultra is 218g. The Z Fold 6 was a hefty 239g, so this new version feels much more comfortable to hold in your hand.

Thirdly, even though it’s super slim and lightweight, Samsung made sure the Z Fold 7 is still tough. It boasts a Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, an ‘Advanced Armor Aluminum‘ frame, and a thinner, lighter ‘Armor FlexHinge‘. It still has the same IP48 rating as before, which means it’s got water resistance, but not so much against dust. Let’s maybe not take it to the beach. Overall, the phone feels lighter and slimmer. And to top it off, it’s durable. What more can you ask for in terms of the design.

Display

Next, the screens have gotten some upgrades too, and they’re noticeably larger! The main foldable display is now 8 inches (up from 7.6 inches on the Z Fold 6), and the cover screen is a more spacious 6.5 inches (compared to 6.3 inches). Both are AMOLED and feature a super smooth 1-120Hz refresh rate. The main screen does get bright with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and both screens offer crisp visuals. The cover screen is also wider this time around, making it feel much more like a standard smartphone screen, which is super convenient.

Lastly, you’ll have a few cool colors to choose from: Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and Mint. Just a heads-up though, if you’re eyeing that Mint color, you’ll only find it on Samsung’s online store. So overall, the screens are larger, brighter, and continue to deliver great visuals. Impressive.

Performance

Let’s chat about what makes the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 tick. Don’t say I didn’t warn you: it’s pretty impressive. As expected, the Z Fold 7 is rocking the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the very same super-powerful chip you’ll find in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Right now, this is basically the cream of the crop for Android phones, so you know this phone is going to be incredibly fast and smooth.

On top of that, you can get the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with up to 16GB of RAM. That’s a bump up from the 12GB in the Z Fold 6, which is awesome. Just a heads-up though, that 16GB of RAM is only available if you go for the top-range, 1TB storage model. If you opt for 256GB or 512GB, you’ll still get a very respectable 12GB of RAM. Either way, this phone is going to be a total beast when it comes to performance.

Software

When you fire up the Z Fold 7, you’ll be greeted by One UI 8, which is Samsung’s customized version of Android 16. This means you’ll have all the latest features and improvements Android has to offer. Plus, it includes some cool foldable-specific features, like a version of Gemini (Google’s AI) that’s optimized for using multiple screens, which is super handy on a phone like this.

Battery Life

Now, let’s talk the phone’s battery. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 4,400mAh battery, which is the same size as the Z Fold 6’s. But here’s the cool part: Samsung actually claims it’ll last longer! They’re saying you can get up to 24 hours of use out of it, which is an hour more than the Z Fold 6. So, even with the same size battery, they’ve managed to squeeze out a bit more life.

And for charging, it’s pretty much the same as its predecessor. You get 25W wired charging, plus the convenience of both wireless and reverse wireless charging. That means you can charge your other compatible devices right from your phone – pretty neat.

Let’s talk about the cameras on the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7—they’ve got some cool updates you’ll want to hear about. The biggest news is with the main camera. The Z Fold 7 ditches the old 50MP sensor and now boasts a whopping 200MP wide camera. That’s a huge jump in megapixels, which sounds super impressive. Of course, more megapixels don’t always tell the whole story. Only with testing it on our review will determine how good the main camera is.

Next, the other camera lenses are pretty much the same as the Z Fold 6. You still get a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a wide 120-degree view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. So, you’ll still have all the versatility you’re used to.

Now, for the front-facing cameras, there’s a slight improvement. The Z Fold 7 has two 10MP wide cameras (one on each screen). This is a step up from the Z Fold 6, which had a 10MP and a 4MP camera. However, while the Z Fold 6 had a sneaky under-display 4MP camera, the Z Fold 7 goes for a more traditional punch-hole camera instead.

Galaxy AI

Of course, it wouldn’t be a new flagship without some fancy AI tools for your photos! You’ll find features like ‘Suggested Erases’ in Generative Edit, which, as the name suggests, smartly recommends things to remove from your pictures. There’s also an Auto mode in Audio Eraser, which sounds intriguing for video.

Plus, the Z Fold 7 uses Samsung’s next-gen ProVisual Engine, meaning it can process images even faster. So, you should get quick, sharp results every time.

Final Thoughts

Even though it doesn’t have “Ultra” in its name, the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 really feels like Samsung went all out for this one. It’s packed with more upgrades than ever in a foldable smartphone, which is super exciting. That upgraded camera sounds especially intriguing on paper, with all those megapixels. I’m so looking forward to putting it through its paces in our review to see how it performs in real life.

Beyond the camera, there are other great changes too, like a brand-new chipset that boosts performance, bigger screens for an even better viewing experience, and a much slimmer and lighter design. It’s a shame the battery capacity hasn’t increased, but honestly, that’s a minor thing compared to what great features the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 offers.

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks like it could be a fantastic foldable smartphone. It promises to be another one of the best smartphones that Samsung has to offer this year. 6 – Google Pixel Watch 3

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.6-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, Heart Rate Monitor, GPS, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor, Pedometer, Gyroscope, Barometer, ECG

Pros

  • Useful health metrics
  • Detailed running guidance
  • Precise heart rate monitor
  • Impressive sleep tracker

Cons

  • High price
  • Some metrics take awhile to calibrate

Let’s chat about the Pixel Watch 3. Even though it has the same processor and sensors as the previous model, it’s still a pretty solid upgrade. You’re getting a better 1.6-inch screen, and some fresh Fitbit features that come in handy.

One of the coolest things is that you get all of Fitbit’s awesome health insights and precise workout recommendations without having to pay extra. These details really help the Pixel Watch 3 keep pace with tough rivals like the Galaxy Watch 7. Honestly, I still lean a tiny bit towards Samsung’s watch because it has extra tracking for things like body composition.

But here’s a big plus for the Pixel Watch 3: it actually has better battery life than the Galaxy Watch 7! So, if you’re a fan of Fitbit’s excellent app and all its workout guidance, this watch is definitely a worthwhile investment.

5 – Garmin Venu Sq 2

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.4-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android & iOS
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, GPS, Heart Rate Monitor, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor

Pros

  • Very impressive battery life
  • Light weight design
  • Built-in GPS
  • Lots of health metrics

Cons

  • No fancy animated workout graphics

If you’re on the hunt for a fitness smart watch, and let me tell you, the market is packed with options. Yet the Garmin Venu Sq 2 really stands out because it’s just so incredibly practical.

First off, it’s the most budget-friendly in Garmin’s Venu 2 series. And get this: its square design actually makes text easier to read than on a round watch, which is a huge bonus. Plus, this watch lasts up to nine days on a single charge. Now that’s awesome battery life.

Now, it won’t track how many floors you’ve climbed, and it doesn’t have those fancy animated workout graphics. But honestly, it gives you all the same fantastic health and fitness tracking features as the round Venu 2.

If you happen to have the original Venu Sq, it’s totally worth thinking about upgrading to this one for that boosted battery life, the much nicer AMOLED display, and the updated heart rate sensor.

Sure, the Apple Watch SE and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 are on price range and offer more apps and lifestyle features. But here’s the thing: they consume more battery power faster. So, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced smart watch that truly focuses on your fitness goals, the Garmin Venu Sq 2 is recommended. It’s super comfortable, has built-in GPS, amazing battery life, and all the best health and fitness features of its pricier sibling.

4 – Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best for Android Users

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.9-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android
  • Special feature: Energy Score, Wellness Tips, Heart Rate Tracking, Sleep Monitor, Fitness Tracker, GPS

Pros

  • Large square display
  • Fast performance
  • Titanium design
  • Includes powerful fitness features
  • Tough & durable

Cons

  • Very expensive
  • Exclusive to Samsung smartphones

Let’s talk about the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. From a tech perspective, this is definitely Samsung’s biggest and best watch yet. It’s built to last longer, it’s more powerful, way more durable, and it looks totally different from Samsung’s other smartwatches.

It comes in a titanium design and is packed with powerful features perfect for outdoor adventures. The larger Super AMOLED display is very sharp and clear, even when you’re out in bright sunshine.

In terms of performance, it’s impressive, though you’ll get the absolute best experience if you pair it with a Samsung smartphone. Just a heads-up, it doesn’t work with iPhones, but it’s clearly Samsung’s answer to Apple’s popular Ultra series.

Beyond integrating with SmartThings, some of the coolest things about this watch is the updated Exynos W1000 chipset, the durability, the super accurate GPS, and Samsung’s awesome ability to measure your body’s muscle and fat composition.

It’s almost the ultimate fitness tool, with extensive sleep tracking to help you feel your best every day. We did find it a bit big and heavy to wear overnight during our tests, though. Overall, this is Samsung’s best and has taken its position as one of the best smart watches of 2025.

3 – Amazfit Active 2

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Affordable

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.3-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Zepp OS
  • Compatibility: Android & iOS
  • Special feature: Energy Score, Wellness Tips, Heart Rate Tracking, Sleep Monitor, Fitness Tracker, GPS

Pros

  • Impressive battery life
  • Classic premium design
  • Affordable price
  • Impressive health tracker
  • Light & comfortable to wear

Cons

  • Small display

Let’s chat about the Amazfit Active 2. For just under US$ 100, this watch is pretty unbelievable.

Firstly, it has this awesome, classic stainless steel design that really stands out from other wearables out there. It looks so premium that you’d think its expensive. I absolutely love how light and comfortable it feels to wear, and the small screen looks excellent with good brightness.

But it’s not just about looks! This watch comes packed with features: 164 sport modes, AI coaching, and super extensive health tracking, including a daily ‘Readiness Score’ and all the usual health metrics you’d expect.

There are a couple of tiny quirks with the strength training feature, but the battery life is exceptional. It lasts 5 days on moderate use. I also liked the AI assistant. Its fitness and health tracking can totally keep up with even other top smart watches, such as the the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Plus, it works well with both iOS and Android!

In the end, the Amazfit Active 2 is an excellent affordable smartphone. Perfect for those who are working under a budget.

2 – OnePlus Watch 3

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best for Battery Life

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.5-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, Heart Rate Monitor, GPS, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor, Gyroscope, Light Sensor, Pulse Oximeter, Barometer

Pros

  • Impressive battery life
  • Precise sleep & exercise tracker
  • Classic look with rotating knob
  • Compatible with Google apps

Cons

  • Only the 1.5-inch size
  • No LTE or cellular option

Here’s a brand-new smartwatch for 2025 that you absolutely have to hear about: check out the OnePlus Watch 3. It’s an absolutely fantastic new Wear OS smartwatch that takes everything awesome about its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2, and makes it even better.

You’re going to love its bold, chunky design, the truly impressive AMOLED display, and get this: It’s one of the best smart watches of 2025 because of the long battery life feature. From testing, it totally lived up to its claim lasting an amazing 120 hours, and I was also impressed with all its health and communication features.

Its classic, round look really makes it stand out from other Wear OS options, but you still get the entire suite of Google apps and everything else you’d expect from a Wear OS smartwatch. Plus, it’s cheaper than the Pixel Watch 3 (at least at its regular price!), comes with a handy rotating crown, and a screen I described as “sumptuous.”

And here’s some even better news: a smaller version and LTE support are coming later this year. But for now, the OnePlus Watch 3 is one smart watch to get right now.

1 – Apple Watch Ultra 2

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best for Apple Users

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.9-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: watchOS 11
  • Compatibility: iOS
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, GPS, Heart Rate Monitor, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor

Pros

  • Impressive performance
  • Good brightness
  • Excellent connectivity features
  • Impressive battery life
  • Good durability features
  • Cheaper than the Apple Watch Ultra 2

Cons

  • Most expensive smart watch
  • Same design as previous model
  • Exclusive to iPhone users

If you’re looking for the absolute top-tier smart watch, let me tell you about the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This thing is seriously amazing. It boasts one of the best screens we’ve ever seen on a wearable, with its gorgeous Retina Display that comes with incredibly brightness.

Now, it is bigger and a bit bulkier than the standard Apple Watch, and it’s powered by the Apple S9 processor, which enables that super cool Double Tap gesture. Beyond that, it’s pretty much identical to the original Apple Watch Ultra.

Even though its battery life could still be better (though it does last longer than the regular Apple Watch Series 10), its powerful and accurate GPS is fantastic for exploring. Especially with watchOS 11’s improved hiking waypoints feature, it’s a real game-changer for adventurers. Plus, it also works as your diving companion, thanks to the Oceanic Plus app.

Even with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 10, the Ultra 2 just barely snags the win to keep its title as the best Apple Watch, all thanks to its beefy battery life and rugged design.

The only real downsides are that it needs an iPhone to work and, well, its high price. But honestly, if you’re just looking at smartwatches purely from a technical standpoint, this is the best one out there. As you can see from the specs, it’s got the biggest, brightest screen, can dive the deepest underwater, and is made with ultra-hard titanium.

You know how sometimes you find a real gem that gives you way more than you expect for the price? Introducing the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro! It’s packed with features you rarely see in tablets at its price range.

If you’re into streaming movies or listening to music, you’re going to love its awesome high-resolution screen and loud audio speakers. But here’s where it gets even better: it’s also a performance tablet that helps you get your stuff done! Thanks to its speedy performance, the included stylus pen, and software that lets you multitask like you’re on a PC, is super handy for productivity.

Now, it’s not absolutely perfect, of course. It would be nice if the screen were a little brighter, and we wish Lenovo would commit to a few more years of software updates. But honestly, for the that price, those are pretty minor trade-offs.

So overall, if you’re looking for an Android tablet under US $400, the Idea Tab Pro is the one to beat. I even recommend as one of the most affordable and best tablets of 2025 which means its in par with the best.

2 – Apple iPad Mini (2024)

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen: 8.3-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD (2226 x 1448)

  • Battery: 5078mAh, up to 7 hours battery life

Pros

  • Impressive performance
  • Good hardware specs
  • Compact & portable
  • Supports Apple Intelligence
  • Works well with Apple Pencil Pro

Cons

  • Small display
  • Average design

The iPad Mini (2024) is still a well-made little tablet and incredibly easy to carry around. Out of all the cool new stuff for the 2024 model, Apple’s A17 Pro processor and the improved memory, stand out the most.

That new processor really gives it a huge boost in performance, letting it run things like Apple Intelligence and work with the fancy new Apple Pencil Pro. Plus, they’ve even upgraded its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which is a nice bonus!

Now, it’s not totally perfect. It would be awesome if it were waterproof – imagine all the new places you could use it. And if the camera were centered, video calls would be way better. Even with those small things, the iPad mini is a great pick if you love its small size and mostly want it for taking notes or watching stuff.

If you’re just a casual user, you could totally save some cash and go for the regular iPad. But if you’re a student or someone who creates a lot, the more powerful iPad Air might be a better fit for getting work done. Overall, if you’re comfortable with a smaller Apple tablet, the iPad Mini could be for you.

  • Impressive performance
  • Top camera system

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Accessories not cheap
  • Operating system needs getting used to

Okay, so let’s talk about the M4-powered Apple iPad Pro. Honestly, for most folks, this tablet is probably total overkill. It’s got insane performance, impressive power, but it comes at a high price.

But, I’ve got to admit, it’s so incredible. It boasts one of the best screens you’ll find on any tablet. It’s super slim, light in weight, and looks fantastic. Plus, it’s got really fast wired and wireless charging connections, top-notch cameras, and pretty good battery life. And don’t even get me started on its first-party accessories – they’re outstanding!

All in all, it’s my personal favorite, and one I can gladly recommend as one of the best tablets of 2025 to get now, especially if you’re a creative student or content creator looking for a slim, lightweight tablet that can handle practically anything you throw at it. The Apple iPad Air is a more affordable alternative if your budget is against you.

  • No Apple Intelligence

You’re looking for a new and affordable iPad, and you’re wondering which one to get, right? Well, let me tell you about the new Apple iPad (11th generation) model. Now, it’s not the most powerful of all of Apple’s iPads, but it’s the one most folks should probably get especially if you’re an Apple fan.

This 11th-generation iPad is just a well-made piece of tech. It’s got an impressive display, good performance, and plenty of battery life to get you through the day.

Plus, the cameras are actually better than most other tablets out there. We totally wished Apple had pushed the envelope a bit more with some features, but honestly, the upgraded A16 chip gives this iPad all the oomph it needs for everyday stuff. ★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen: 12.7-inch IPS LCD 144Hz (2944 x 1840)

  • Battery: 10200mAh, up to 8 hours battery life

Pros

  • Great performance
  • Impressive display
  • Solid camera system
  • Includes Apple Intelligence

Cons

  • No ground breaking changes from previous model

The Apple iPad Air (2025) is not a ground breaking Apple tablet, but it makes up for it because of the new, the Apple M3 chip.

Now, that M3 chip does give the Air a nice little boost when it comes to performance, and it helps out with cool new features like Apple Intelligence, battery life, and even for creativity creating and imaging. But besides that, the hardware and most of its functions are pretty much the same as the previous model.

Even with that relatively small upgrade, the iPad Air is still an absolute winner, especially if you’re a student or a creator. It’s got plenty of power, and is another great option as one of the best.

6 – Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Camera system good but not great

To all Android fans, I haven’t left you out.  let me tell you about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ – this tablet is seriously awesome! It’s super powerful, speedy, and just feels really well-made.

Under the hood, it’s rocking a MediaTek chip, which means it can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Whether you’re on video calls, getting creative with some drawing, diving into intense gaming, or just getting your work done, this tablet won’t break a sweat.

Samsung has also done some really cool things with its software, making Android even better than what you’d find on other tablets. And the new Galaxy AI? That just adds even more fun and functionality! When you put it all together, it’s no wonder the Galaxy Tab S10+ is our recommendation as one of the best tablets of 2025. It’s truly top-tier!

Now, if you’re looking to save some cash, you could consider the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. You’d be getting many of the same great multitasking features for almost half the price! Just keep in mind that you’ll have a slightly less vibrant screen, a bit slower performance, and shorter battery life, plus no Galaxy AI. But for a mid-range Android tablet, it’s still our top pick.

And if you’re more of an Apple person, no worries! The iPad Pro is definitely your best bet for getting serious work done in that ecosystem.

Plus, it’s great for streaming all your favorite movies and shows, and it even runs more demanding games pretty well! Oh, and if you need to stay connected on the go, there’s even a 5G-compatible version available. How cool is that?

Now, a couple of things could be a little better, like the battery life and the base storage, which is 64GB. But honestly, those are minor points when you consider everything else this tablet offers. That’s why the Tab A9+ is another recommendation for best affordable Android tablet – it’s just that good for the price!

We’re talking about a big, bright screen, long-lasting battery life, plenty of power for whatever you need to do, and comes with an S Pen stylus. If you’re already an Android fan, this tablet is a really attractive option.

So, if you’re looking for a tablet that perfectly balances great performance with a great price, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ is yet another tablet worth recommending.

If you’re anything like me and you love how Samsung tweaks Android, and you’ve got other Samsung gadgets you like to link up, then let me tell you about the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. Seriously, this is probably the Android tablet you should grab!

Think of it this way: you get a lot of the same cool features as the super high-end Tab S9, but for way less cash. Now, it’s not quite as powerful as the regular Tab S9, but the Tab S9 FE+ still feels really well-made and has more than enough oomph for all your daily tasks. Sending emails, playing games, kicking back with video streams – it handles it all beautifully!

Full disclosure, like most Android tablets, it’s still not going to completely replace your laptop. But honestly, considering the price, that’s totally fine! Plus, Samsung’s DeX mode and all their extra multitasking software actually make it a better choice for getting things done than, say, the Pixel Tablet.

Oh, and if the Tab S9 FE+ feels a bit too big or pricey for you, don’t worry! We also highly recommend its slightly smaller and more affordable sibling, the Tab S9 FE.
