    Hey there, LGMadyibi!

I stumbled upon your article about the “5 Good Laptops for College Students in 2024,” and I must say, it’s a gem! As a tech enthusiast, I’m particularly intrigued by the Asus Vivobook 16. The blend of a powerful Ryzen processor, ample storage, and that budget-friendly tagline has me hooked. It seems like the perfect companion for a student balancing term papers, memes, and late-night YouTube sessions.

I’m curious—how does the 16-inch display handle split-screen assignments? And, of course, the real deal-breaker question: does it come in a sleek color that matches my late-night study vibes?

Also, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 caught my eye with its promise of a crystal-clear 1080p Full HD webcam. In a world of pixelated potatoes, that’s a game-changer for virtual classes! How does the 2-in-1 touchscreen design enhance the overall experience, and does it live up to its claim of being fast and powerful?

Looking forward to your tech-savvy insights!

Hey there, Chas. Thanks for your comment. Let’s move on to your concerns.
A 16-inch display is quite big. You can easily put up two windows on the same screen and the screen quality would look awesome. It depends on the number of the pixels on the display and the Vivobook 16 takes up to 1200 pixels, which is larger then Full HD display. I find it extremely useful when I don’t have an external display. So its useful for work and assignments when you don’t have an external display monitor.
As for the Acer Chromebook Spin, the 2-in-1 design feature is its flexibility and versatility. Thanks to its strong hinges you can bend the display into tablet mode, or in tent mode, almost like you are pitching a tent. It just make the Chromebook look unique and gives it extra features only a 2-in-1 laptop can do. I hope those answer your concerns.

    Hello LGMadyibi,

This is a very nice article on the best laptops for college students and exactly what I was looking for for my son. Between his study loans and college studio rent, there isn’t that much money left to buy a large laptop and these seem ideal and lightweight enough to carry around everywhere.
I would go for the Yoga Book laptop for his birthday. Would you think that it is also good enough though to be able to play games with? Cause that’s another one of his hobbies.
    thanks!

      Hi Lizzy.
Thanks for your comments. If your son likes to play 2D games like puzzles, block or 3-match games then it’s all well and good. The Yoga Book can support such games. If he’s looking for games similar to console games such as Call of Duty or Fortnite, then this Yoga Book laptop is not ideal. The hardware inside is not meant for those type of games. These laptops are affordable for a reason, and it’s purely for working purposes, and light 2D gaming. I hope this helps.

Hey there, this is a very good article on the different types of laptops, on which you offer quick reviews that might be suitable for students to check out and invest in! It’s easy to follow and gets right to the point, and student friendly!
I use a Lenova Chromebook, and even though it’s basic in what it offers, I am very happy with it! If I were to upgrade, then I would probably look into something similar, but possibly that offers a touch screen version.
I like the sound of the Acer Chromebook spin 714. But I am not there yet.
The only drawback, is if I press a key by accident, sometimes things go astray and I loose text, is there a way to retrieve the lost copy back? I would appreciate any pointers there please?
As a designer, it’s very tempting to want to move things around on screen and don’t really like using the touch pad thing, I prefer using a wired mouse. Having tried various wifi mice, lol, they keep breaking on me! So the wired type works best with me.
One day a better way to manipulate our laptops, will be a thing of the future perhaps?
Anyways. Thanks for sharing this fun, and informative post and keep up the good work!

      Hi Julia.
Thank you for your comments. Let’s move on to your concerns. As far as I can tell, you’re not the only one that makes those mistakes. Depending on what text editor, like MS Word, you’re using there’s an Autosave feature. So if you mess up you can always open the last file you save and take over before committing the mistake.
As for the wired or wireless mouse, you may need to consult an expert or get another person’s opinion to which wireless mouse is compatible to your laptop. In this case, try to find a wireless mouse that is compatible with Lenovo laptops or Chromebooks. Maybe a Lenovo Wireless Mouse will do.
      I hope this helps.
