7 Best Budget Tablets for Students

Specs

  • Display: 10.9-inch, Liquid Retina IPS LCD, 1640 x 2360
  • CPU: Apple A14 Bionic
  • Storage: 64GB / 128GB
  • Memory: 4GB
  • OS: iPadOS
  • Weight: 477g (Wi-Fi) / 481g (LTE)
  • Battery: 7606 mAh

  • Front camera: 12MP (ultrawide) | 1080p videos at 60fps
  • Colors: Silver, Blue, Pink, Yellow

Pros

  • Good performance
  • Great camera features
  • Support for older Apple Pencil stylus
  • Sleek & modern design
  • Good quality display
  • Excellent value

Cons

  • Most expensive budget option
  • 64GB base storage fills very quickly
  • Screen lacks anti-reflective coating

As of right now, you can still snag the iPad 10.9 (2022) from various retailers, but it won’t be on shelves for much longer. So, if you’re reading this and can’t track one down, don’t sweat it! Just go for the iPad A16 (2025) instead – it’s our current top pick for most people looking for an iPad.

But back to the iPad 10.9 (2022). This tablet truly shines for everyday use. It boasts a bright and generously sized 10.9-inch display, a super lightweight aluminum design, and the capable A14 Bionic chipset under the hood. Throw in some decent stereo speakers, and you’ve got a device that’s perfectly suited for streaming your favorite shows, Browse the web, and tackling mild productivity tasks.

It’s a fantastic all-rounder that feels much more premium than many other tablets in its price bracket. Of course, because it’s an Apple device, you’ll still pay a bit of a premium compared to some Android options, even with its current discounted price.

During our testing, the iPad 10.9 (2022) consistently gave us about 10 hours of battery life with constant use, and stretched to almost 22 hours when used casually. While it doesn’t have Face ID, it’s hard to find fault with how effortlessly this device performs, especially for a tablet in this price range.

The best part? This iPad is compatible with iPadOS 18 and will continue to receive software updates, including iPadOS 26, until at least 2027. If you’re looking to mess around with the new Apple Intelligence, you’d need to go for pricier options like the iPad mini (2024) or iPad Air 11 (2025). But for budget-conscious buyers, picking up the iPad 10.9 (2022) at a lower price from third-party retailers makes it a really smart move.

For its price, this tablet is a really strong contender, offering a surprisingly compelling package. When it comes to your everyday tasks – things like managing emails, working on documents, or just browsing the web – the Tab A9+ handles them without a hitch.

This tablet looks sleek, includes a vibrant 11-inch screen, and delivers solid performance thanks to its Snapdragon chip. It’s a fantastic Android option, plus, you can often find some sweet deals on it.

Samsung has done a great job with its software to make sure things run smoothly. It’s also a fantastic device for streaming all your favorite shows and movies, giving you a clear and vibrant viewing experience.

And if you’re into gaming, it can even manage more demanding titles pretty well, which is a nice bonus for a budget-friendly tablet. Plus, for those who need to stay connected on the go, there’s even a 5G-compatible version available.

Now, it’s not perfect – the battery life could be a bit better, and the base storage might feel a little tight for some. But honestly, those minor points don’t stop the Galaxy Tab A9+ from being among one of the best Android tablets. It truly offers a lot of value for your money and is a great tablet for students.

This is one of those Android tablets that’s priced really well, and while its performance isn’t going to blow you away, it gets the job done for the cost. Tablets like this are perfect for the kids or for anyone keeping a close eye on their budget.

Lenovo consistently nails the balance between affordability and useful features. The Tab M10 Plus offers a good screen, reliable performance for all your student tasks, and it’s built tough. It’s a versatile Android tablet that handles a wide range of educational apps like a champ.

Now, it’s true, the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 doesn’t have a ton of standout features, and its performance is just “okay.” But here’s where it shines: if you mostly use a tablet for streaming videos or reading e-books, it’s an ideal choice. And a big bonus? It boasts a long battery life (up to 10 hours), so you can enjoy your content without constantly hunting for an outlet.

If you’re thinking about alternatives, you can check out the other tablets on the list. But because of its long battery life and the low price, it’s perfect for students and those with a budget.

4 – Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE

  • Includes a 90Hz display
  • Useful for multitasking
  • Impressive build quality
  • Good price
  • Huge battery capacity

Cons

  • No fingerprint scanner
  • Camera takes average images
  • Audio sounds average

Looking for an affordable Android tablet that competes with entry-level iPads, then let’s look at the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE. Just under US$300, this solid tablet features good performance and good build quality, all whilst providing an excellent Android experience.

It’s is definitely worth considering, looking at how affordable it is compared to other premium tablets. When you think about it, it’s a bit difficult to believe that you can get a solidly built tablet with an aluminum enclosure, a high refresh display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, up to 8GB RAM, and expandable storage, all alongside at least two OS updates. While that all looks good on paper — err, on-screen — it also works well in practice.

This is one tablet you will enjoy using as much as I have. That’s why I see not problem in recommending it especially to students and budget-conscious users. The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE is a midsize tablet that’s great for casual use, with no issues running apps side by side, great for streaming movies, and playing games. Sure, there’s still space for improvement — I wish it had some kind of fingerprint scanner and that the audio speakers would deliver better sound — but for a fair price, this tablet has great value, making it a winner.

  • Impressive battery life
  • Keyboard cover included
  • Surprisingly loud

Cons

  • Below average camera performance

If you’re someone who needs a device that’s a bit of a hybrid – part tablet, part laptop – the Chromebook Duet 3 is incredible. It runs on ChromeOS, which is super efficient, and it often comes with a detachable keyboard, making it perfect for typing essays and keeping your assignments organized. .

This tablet is a definite upgrade from its predecessor, the original Duet. It runs on ChromeOS, which is super efficient, and it often comes with a detachable keyboard, making it perfect for typing essays and keeping your assignments organized. This one boasts excellent battery life, frequently lasting over 10 hours on a single charge.

It comes with a boosted display, which is much better, with an upgraded resolution it makes everything you look at just pop. This is a big deal for reading and studying, video streaming, or web browsing.

Then they’ve added a second USB-C port, which is super useful. It means you can now plug it in for power and connect a USB hub at the same time. So, if you’ve got a favorite keyboard and mouse (or any other accessories), you can use them without constantly swapping cables. This added flexibility is one of the main reasons one of our editors even picked this Chromebook over an Android tablet!

If you’re in the market for a surprisingly good Chrome tablet that costs under US$400 and can easily transform into a Chromebook when you need to get some serious typing done, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is a solid choice. It’s a reliable little workhorse that won’t let you down.

6 – Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Display: 10.5-inch, LCD, 1200 x 1920
  • CPU: Unisoc Tiger T618
  • Storage: 32GB / 64GB / 128GB
  • Memory: 2GB / 3GB / 4GB
  • OS: Android 11
  • Weight: 508g
  • Battery: 7040 mAh
  • Main camera: 8MP | 1080p videos at 30fps
  • Front camera: 5MP | 1080p videos at 30fps
  • Colors: Gray, Silver, Pink Gold

Pros

  • S Pen stylus included
  • Extended software update support
  • Premium metal design
  • Decent audio speakers
  • Samsung Dex support
  • Decent performance

Cons

  • Average refresh rate at 60Hz
  • No fingerprint reader
  • Older aesthetics design

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a really solid contender against the iPad, and frankly, it might just be the best non-premium tablet Samsung has ever released.

The Tab S6 Lite has some real strengths that make it shine. For starters, it comes with the S Pen included, which is a huge bonus if you love taking notes by hand or getting a little creative with your tablet. You also get a good amount of software customization options, letting you tweak things to your liking. And let’s not forget its design – it feels pretty robust and looks good, definitely punching above its weight class in terms of build quality.

However, it’s not entirely perfect. You might run into a few performance hiccups here and there. Nothing major that will stop you in your tracks, but it’s worth noting that it’s not going to be as buttery smooth as a top-tier tablet. These minor stutters could affect your overall experience if you’re pushing it with very demanding apps or heavy multitasking.

Despite that small catch, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite offers a fantastic balance of features, design, and value, making it a truly well-rounded option.

7 – Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Display: 10.5-inch, LCD, 1200 x 1920
  • CPU: Unisoc Tiger T618
  • Storage: 32GB / 64GB / 128GB
  • Memory: 2GB / 3GB / 4GB
  • OS: Android 11
  • Weight: 508g
  • Battery: 7040 mAh
  • Main camera: 8MP | 1080p videos at 30fps
  • Front camera: 5MP
  • Colors: Gray, Silver, Pink Gold

Pros

  • Affordable price
  • Great display
  • Expandable memory up to 1TB

Cons

  • Long charging time

If the Tab A9 or the A9+ is not within your budget radar, then the Galaxy Tab A8 is the better alternative in 2025. And honestly, that makes it a pretty compelling option for anyone looking to save some cash.

Think of the Galaxy Tab A8 as Samsung’s answer to Apple’s more affordable iPad options. If you’re after an Android-powered tablet that can genuinely rival an iPad, this one (or its newer A9 sibling) should definitely be on your radar.

With Google’s Android operating system giving you tons of flexibility and a nice, big HD display, the 10.5-inch Tab A8 is a real winner for kicking back with movies or just casually Browse the web. We found that this tablet also delivers a long battery life, so you can easily dive into a movie marathon without constantly checking for an outlet. Just a heads-up though, it can take a little while to fully charge up.

Now, it’s not the most powerful tablet out there – if you’re looking for top-tier performance, Apple’s iPad 10.9 (2022) still has the edge in our books. But for everyday media consumption and using basic apps around the house, the Galaxy Tab A8 is a really solid choice.

If you’re willing to stretch your budget a bit, but not quite into “Ultra” tablet territory, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus is another excellent option to consider. Also, we’re expecting an even newer version of the Galaxy Tab A – probably the Galaxy Tab A10 – to launch in the first half of 2025. So, if you’re not in a huge rush, waiting a few more months before pulling the trigger on the Galaxy Tab A8 might just pay off.

Why Buy Affordable Tablets?

You might be thinking, “Shouldn’t I just save up for a premium expensive tablet instead?” While the premium tablets are great, there are some really compelling reasons why going for an affordable option, especially as a student, just makes sense:

Smart for the Wallet: Let’s face it, tablets are expensive, even for students. Spending less on a tablet means more money for textbooks, tuition, or even just some much-needed coffee to keep you up. You can get a highly capable device without feeling the pinch.

Less Stress, More Learning: There’s something liberating about not constantly worrying about a super expensive gadget. If it takes a tumble (accidents happen), or gets misplaced, the financial hit isn’t as severe. This lets you focus on your studies, not on coddling your tech.

Perfectly Capable for Student Needs: For most academic tasks – reading textbooks, taking notes, researching online, attending video calls, and organizing your schedule – a budget tablet does the job well. You don’t really need the absolute latest processor or an ultra-fancy camera for schoolwork.

Portable Power: Affordable tablets are typically lightweight and easy to carry, fitting perfectly into a backpack alongside your books. Plus many offer exceptional battery life, meaning you’re not tethered to a power outlet during a long day of classes and study groups.

Gateway to the Digital World: For many, an affordable tablet is an excellent entry point into digital learning tools. It opens up access to countless educational apps, e-books, and other online resources, enhancing your learning without a huge upfront investment.

So, while the premium gadgets have their place, a well-chosen budget tablet can be the smartest, most practical tool for navigating student life.

As you’ve seen, there are some truly fantastic options out there that deliver great performance, solid features, and most importantly, battery life that will actually last through your toughest study sessions. ★★★★

Specs

  • Battery life: 10 hours (45 hours with charging case)
  • Active noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IPX4 water resistance
  • Colors: Electric Orange / Jet Black / Quick Sand / Hyper Purple

Pros

  • Very comfortable & secure fit
  • Great battery life
  • Impressive well-rounded audio
  • Works with Android and iPhone smartphones
  • Good choice of trendy colors
  • Includes adaptive EQ & heart rate monitoring sensor

Cons

  • High price
  • Charging case is very big

If you’re looking for some awesome earbuds specifically for your workouts, you need to check out the Powerbeats Pro 2. Forget about heart rate monitoring for a sec and just focus on how well these fit, how comfy they are, and how secure they’ll stay while you’re working a sweat. They’re seriously fantastic for listening to podcasts, audiobooks, and music while you exercise.

And let’s be real, they look super sleek too, thanks to their slim design. Plus, with a ten-hour battery life, they’ll easily get you through any gym session or run without a hitch.

Now, a quick heads-up for all you audio fanatics: if top-notch sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC) are your main priorities, you might be happier with something like the AirPods Pro 2 (which are about the same price). You won’t get that same secure fit for workouts though, but you’ll definitely get better sound and much better ANC for just a little extra cash.

At the end of the day, the Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds are excellent for those who need music during workouts. Those who used them, love them, and you will too. Just give them a try and watch your active lifestyle get even better.

5 – Samsung Galaxy Buds FE

★★★★

Specs

  • Battery life: 9 hours without ANC / 6 hours with ANC
  • Noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IPX2 water resistance
  • Colors: Graphite / White

Pros

  • Surprisingly good audio delivery
  • Good value price
  • Impressive battery life
  • Fits well in ear
  • Great for working out
  • Impressive ANC

Cons

  • Better with Samsung Galaxy devices
  • No wireless charging support
  • Provides EQ presets but limited EQ adjustments
  • Price quite high

The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE not only delivers impressive audio sound but offers impressive active noise cancellation. The price is relatively fair, will fit snuggly into your ear, and comes with an impressive battery life on moderate use.

If you’re one for exercise, depending on the intensity of your workouts, the Buds FE fits and will stay well in your ear. No matter if you go for casual walks or a jog, the Buds FE will stay secure and snuggly.

However, there are some flaws to note. Firstly, they work with all mobile devices, even iPhones or iPads, but you won’t get the full Buds FE experience, unless you have a Samsung Galaxy device. Secondly, as much as the Buds FE offers EQ presets, the EQ options are limited.

Overall, The Buds FE are one of the best headphones to buy because of the decent amount of value, it looks good and feels good, and very simple to use with the right mobile device.

4 – JLab Go Air Pop

★★★★

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 8 hours
  • Noise cancellation: No
  • Durability: IPX4 water resistance
  • Colors: Up to 9 choice of colors

Pros

  • Light, small, & comfortable design
  • Delivers impressive sound overall
  • Easy touch volume controls whilst fitted in ear
  • Reliable connectivity
  • Decent battery life
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • No app support
  • Lacks decent treble
  • Poor sound quality for calls
  • Lacks active noise cancellation

The JLab Go Air Pop are a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a decent pair of workout earbuds that you can include in your luggage. It comes with reliable Bluetooth connectivity, a good 8-hour battery life, great music delivery, and a light comfortable design with an option of 5 colors.

These headphones sound fantastic, unlike many other low-cost workout headphones, so you won’t be distracted by low-volume music or muffled audio. Plus they are comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Although it’s difficult to expect perfection at this price, the Go Air Pop’s are not the best to take and receive calls as the call quality doesn’t sound good. There’s no app support for change of settings on a mobile device, and whilst the sound delivery is great you will notice a lack of treble especially when listening to music.

In the end, the JLab Go Air Pop are unquestionably one of our top choices if you’re looking for an extra pair of buds that you may use for emergencies or as an affordable device for gym, in case you need to replace them after unforeseen accidents.

3 – Shokz OpenRun Pro 2

★★★★★ Best for running

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 12 hours
  • Noise cancellation: No
  • Durability: IP55 water resistance
  • Colors: Black / Orange

Pros

  • Great for long gym sessions
  • Lightweight & well designed
  • Good audio delivery
  • Impressive battery life
  • Comes with app support

Cons

  • High price
  • Can’t adjust fit
  • No active noise cancellation

Check out the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones: One of the best headphones for working out especially if you’re a runner. Even though they transmit sound by vibrating your cheeks, they nonetheless deliver excellent sound quality.

They fit comfortably and securely on your ear, especially when running, allowing you to concentrate on your training rather than constantly adjusting them. They also have MP3 storage built in.

Although there isn’t a charging case included, you will discover that the battery life on the OpenRun Pro 2 will last for about 12 hours between charges, which should last you through the most of your exercises. Expect closer to 10 hours of power if you choose to turn the volume up to the highest setting.

In the end, the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 is the best option if you’re looking for open-design running headphones. They can withstand steamy workouts and mild rainy weather.

2 – Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

★★★★★ Best for Android smartphones

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 8 hours
  • Noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IP54 water resistance
  • Colors: Porcelain / Hazel / Wintergreen / Peony

Pros

  • Lightweight design
  • Effective active noise cancellation
  • Good choice of trendy colors
  • Comfortable for long sessions
  • Good audio quality
  • Great battery life
  • Include wireless charging support

Cons

  • Exclusive to Pixel smartphones
  • Needs occasional adjusting

So, you know how Google is really trying to give Apple a run for its money with its Pixel phones and accessories. Well, it looks like their new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds are pretty much the top pick for Android users looking for workout headphones, even if they’re more focused on those with Google Pixel phones.

One of the coolest new things they’ve added is Google Gemini, which is their fancy new AI. It’s still pretty fresh, so it doesn’t totally replace the old Google Assistant yet, even though it could eventually. We found it’s not always spot-on with its answers, but it’s getting there.

When you’re working out, things like voice assistants and hands-free controls are nice, but not totally essential. What really matters is that your earbuds stay put. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 actually have a new little wing on each earbud to help them lock into your ears. That sounds awesome in theory, but we noticed the wing doesn’t quite reach the very top of your inner ear, so you might still need to adjust them a bit to get that perfect fit for the best noise cancellation.

Google also says they’ve improved the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), but honestly, it’s tough to tell the difference between these and the original Pixel Buds Pro. That being said, it’s still super effective at blocking out unwanted background noise, except for those really high-pitched sounds like a baby crying or a siren wailing.

The sound quality is just as good as the first version too, though you might want to tweak the EQ settings a bit since the default can be a little heavy on the bass.

One more thing to note, similar to Apple’s AirPods Pro, if you’re an intense gym-goer who spends hours working out, these might not be the absolute best fit for really high-impact exercises. But, if you’re looking for a versatile pair of earbuds that work great for your gym sessions and for kicking back at the office, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a fantastic option.

1 – Apple AirPods Pro 2

★★★★★ Best for iPhones

Specs

  • Battery life: Up to 6 hours, 30 hours with case
  • Noise cancellation: Yes
  • Durability: IPX4, splash resistance
  • Color: white

Pros

  • Uses Apple’s H1 chipset
  • Integrates well with your iPhone
  • Great audio & noise cancellation
  • Great for casual exercise like jogging & yoga

Cons

  • Only for iPhones
  • Battery life good but not great
  • Not recommended for high intensity workouts
  • Fitting not very secure

If you’re an iPhone user and looking at getting headphones for your workouts, let me tell you about the Apple AirPods Pro 2 earbuds. They’ve got pretty much the same tech as the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, but with that classic Apple stemmed design everyone tries to copy. So, why would you pick these over the more workout-focused Powerbeats Pro 2? Well, it mostly comes down to versatility!

If you’re after one set of earbuds that can handle pretty much anything – from work meetings and phone calls to catching up on podcasts and even your workouts – the AirPods Pro 2 are an ideal choice. They’re not quite as tough as, say, the Jabra Elite 8 Active (that includes strong dust and water resistance), but don’t worry, they’re not going to break easily either.

When I tested these earbuds, they stayed put pretty nicely during my walks and also light workouts, though I did need to adjust them now and then. The only time one actually fell out was when I was doing high-impact moves like burpees. With workouts like those the Airpods Pro 2 are not suited to use, as I often had to twist them back into place. And for short or casual runs, they’re a good option.

And if you’re already deep in the Apple ecosystem, you’ll love how the AirPods Pro quickly connect and share settings with all your devices. Plus, the Spatial Audio feature is a really cool way to experience your music.  The only real downside is the battery life, which you get about 6 hours, which isn’t as much as the 8 hours you’d get from something like the super affordable JLab Go Air Pop.

As great as the Airpods Pro 2 are, the design is the main reason it’s not number 1 on my of best headphones of 2025. The main reason I don’t rate these higher on a list specifically for “best workout headphones” is mostly because of the design – they just aren’t made for intense sports, and they’re not as securely fitting as you’d need for all high-intensity workouts. But for everyday use with your iPhone, including things like yoga, HIIT sessions, and casual runs, they’re an absolutely great choice!

Final Thoughts

Alright, so we’ve talked about what makes some headphones fantastic during workout sessions – from how snugly they fit to how they handle a splash (or a downpour). Finding the perfect pair really comes down to what you need for your workouts.

Whether you’re a hardcore runner who needs unbeatable stability and sweat-proofing, a gym enthusiast who thrives on powerful bass and noise cancellation, or someone who just wants reliable tunes for their daily walk, there’s always a great pair of headphones out there for you. And the best part is: You can choose one of these as they are the best headphones for working out in 2025.

Design

The first thing you will notice with the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 is the slimmer design, at 6.5mm when unfolded and 13.7mm when folded – making it even more pocket-friendly. The hinges have also been reinforced, calling it the ‘Armor FlexHinge’ to increase the phone’s durability. It also weighs 188g, which is a little heavier than its predecessor, and the frame is built using strong aluminum material, calling it the ‘Armor Aluminum’. Let’s not forget the familiar ‘Gorilla Glass Victus 2′ for screen protection.

It also has the same IP48 rating as before, meaning that it can withstand up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. Samsung even says they’ve made the internal parts of the phone even more waterproof this year – nice. For colors, you’ve got some cool options: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and Mint. Just so you know, that Mint color is only available directly from Samsung’s online store.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

Now, there’s also the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. This one is pretty much identical to the older Z Flip 6 in terms of design. It has the same 6.7-inch, 120Hz main screen, a 3.4-inch, 60Hz cover screen, and the same weight and size as the Z Flip 6. It also shares the IP48 rating and comes in classic black or whiteIn terms of the design, we can say it pretty much looks bigger, better, heavier, and more durable than the previous model. Yet it retains the water resistance. The Z Flip 7 FE, however, has not really changed from the Z Flip 6 with the design.

Display

Both screens are bigger and look better than ever. The main foldable display is now a 6.9-inch, giving you more room to view content. But the real star is the cover screen on the outside. It’s grown to 4.1 inches and now takes up almost the entire front section – no more separate panel for the cameras like on the Z Flip 6.

Plus, it finally has a super smooth 120Hz refresh rate. That’s a huge leap from the 60Hz, and both screens still come with the same gorgeous AMOLED panels, of course. In the end, the screens are larger, look and feel smoother.

Performance

Let’s dive into what’s powering the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its FE sibling. So, just as the rumors hinted, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is running on an Exynos 2500 chipset. Now, this is definitely a high-end chip, but it’s worth noting it’s different from, and potentially not quite as powerful, as the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The Flip 7 also comes with a solid 12GB of RAM, so it should still be super zippy for your everyday tasks. Not much more we say about the performance, until detailed testing is done.

Galaxy AI & Software

When it comes to software, both the Z Flip 7 and the Z Flip 7 FE will launch with One UI 8, which is Samsung’s take on Android 16. This means you’ll get all the latest Android features, plus some cool AI tools and features specifically designed for foldable phones. For instance, the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s cover screen will even give you access to Gemini Live, which sounds pretty futuristic.

Battery Life

Here’s some great news for the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7: the battery life is said to be better. It’s gone from 4,000mAh in the previous model to a healthier 4,300mAh. That’s pretty impressive, especially since the phone itself is actually slimmer.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, however, sticks with the 4,000mAh battery. Both new Flip phones support 25W wired charging, which is decent, and they also come with handy wireless and reverse wireless charging – perfect for juicing up other accessories.

Cameras

When it comes to the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 actually keeps the same specs as its predecessor. So, you’re looking at a dual-lens: 50MP (wide) main camera, and a 12MP (ultra-wide) lens (which captures a nice wide 123-degree view). Then on the cover screen, you’re looking at a 10MP (wide) front-facing camera.

While there aren’t any big hardware upgrades here, these cameras are still quite capable. And the good news is that, if you’re thinking about the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE – it also has these exact same camera specs. So, you won’t be compromising on your photo quality if you go for that model.

Even without new hardware, both phones come loaded with various camera modes and AI features to help you get great shots. For instance, the Z Flip 7 has an enhanced Nightography mode that’s designed to make your low-light photos look even better.

And there’s a cool feature called Dual Preview, which lets both you (the photographer) and your subject see the photo composition on the screen before you even snap the picture – super handy for getting everyone perfectly in frame. So, while the hardware might be familiar, the software tweaks should still make for an enjoyable photo-taking experience.

Final Thoughts

So, let’s break down the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its FE sibling. At first glance, they might not seem like a massive leap from the Z Flip 6, but don’t let that fool you. It actually packs some pretty appealing upgrades. We’re talking about bigger screens, a slimmer and more stylish design, and a larger battery. Plus, it comes with a more powerful chipset. All these things combined could make it a really compelling phone.

There are still a few unknowns, like exactly how its Exynos 2500 chipset will stack up against the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in other top phones, and just how much that boosted battery capacity will truly impact daily use. But on paper, it definitely sounds like a promising device. While it might not have as many exciting upgrades as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it’s also much more affordable, which could easily make the Galaxy Z Flip 7 a popular choice for budget users. As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, it honestly doesn’t seem all that different from the Galaxy Z Flip 6. So, its main selling point might really just be its relatively lower price.

So let’s hear from you. What do you think of these new flip smartphones? Does the Z Flip 7 sound like it could be your next go-to? Let me know by leaving your comments here below. And if you wanna from out more about them, CLICK HERE and check out what on offer. See you next time, until then 😀

Design

Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is here, and it’s got some pretty awesome upgrades that make it even more sleek. First off, the Z Fold 7 is way thinner than the previous model. When it’s open, it’s just a tiny 4.2mm thick, and when it’s folded shut, it’s only 8.9mm. That’s a huge step up from the Z Fold 6, which was 5.6mm open and 12.1mm closed. This means that even when it’s folded, it’s hardly thicker than a regular smartphone – for example, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is 8.2mm thick. Not that’s awesome.

Next, and here’s another shocker: the Z Fold 7 is actually lighter than the S25 Ultra. It weighs in at a mere 215g, while the S25 Ultra is 218g. The Z Fold 6 was a hefty 239g, so this new version feels much more comfortable to hold in your hand.

Thirdly, even though it’s super slim and lightweight, Samsung made sure the Z Fold 7 is still tough. It boasts a Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, an ‘Advanced Armor Aluminum‘ frame, and a thinner, lighter ‘Armor FlexHinge‘. It still has the same IP48 rating as before, which means it’s got water resistance, but not so much against dust. Let’s maybe not take it to the beach. Overall, the phone feels lighter and slimmer. And to top it off, it’s durable. What more can you ask for in terms of the design.

Display

Next, the screens have gotten some upgrades too, and they’re noticeably larger! The main foldable display is now 8 inches (up from 7.6 inches on the Z Fold 6), and the cover screen is a more spacious 6.5 inches (compared to 6.3 inches). Both are AMOLED and feature a super smooth 1-120Hz refresh rate. The main screen does get bright with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and both screens offer crisp visuals. The cover screen is also wider this time around, making it feel much more like a standard smartphone screen, which is super convenient.

Lastly, you’ll have a few cool colors to choose from: Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black, and Mint. Just a heads-up though, if you’re eyeing that Mint color, you’ll only find it on Samsung’s online store. So overall, the screens are larger, brighter, and continue to deliver great visuals. Impressive.

Performance

Let’s chat about what makes the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 tick. Don’t say I didn’t warn you: it’s pretty impressive. As expected, the Z Fold 7 is rocking the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the very same super-powerful chip you’ll find in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Right now, this is basically the cream of the crop for Android phones, so you know this phone is going to be incredibly fast and smooth.

On top of that, you can get the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with up to 16GB of RAM. That’s a bump up from the 12GB in the Z Fold 6, which is awesome. Just a heads-up though, that 16GB of RAM is only available if you go for the top-range, 1TB storage model. If you opt for 256GB or 512GB, you’ll still get a very respectable 12GB of RAM. Either way, this phone is going to be a total beast when it comes to performance.

Software

When you fire up the Z Fold 7, you’ll be greeted by One UI 8, which is Samsung’s customized version of Android 16. This means you’ll have all the latest features and improvements Android has to offer. Plus, it includes some cool foldable-specific features, like a version of Gemini (Google’s AI) that’s optimized for using multiple screens, which is super handy on a phone like this.

Battery Life

Now, let’s talk the phone’s battery. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 4,400mAh battery, which is the same size as the Z Fold 6’s. But here’s the cool part: Samsung actually claims it’ll last longer! They’re saying you can get up to 24 hours of use out of it, which is an hour more than the Z Fold 6. So, even with the same size battery, they’ve managed to squeeze out a bit more life.

And for charging, it’s pretty much the same as its predecessor. You get 25W wired charging, plus the convenience of both wireless and reverse wireless charging. That means you can charge your other compatible devices right from your phone – pretty neat.

Cameras

Let’s talk about the cameras on the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7—they’ve got some cool updates you’ll want to hear about. The biggest news is with the main camera. The Z Fold 7 ditches the old 50MP sensor and now boasts a whopping 200MP wide camera. That’s a huge jump in megapixels, which sounds super impressive. Of course, more megapixels don’t always tell the whole story. Only with testing it on our review will determine how good the main camera is.

Next, the other camera lenses are pretty much the same as the Z Fold 6. You still get a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a wide 120-degree view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. So, you’ll still have all the versatility you’re used to.

Now, for the front-facing cameras, there’s a slight improvement. The Z Fold 7 has two 10MP wide cameras (one on each screen). This is a step up from the Z Fold 6, which had a 10MP and a 4MP camera. However, while the Z Fold 6 had a sneaky under-display 4MP camera, the Z Fold 7 goes for a more traditional punch-hole camera instead.

Galaxy AI

Of course, it wouldn’t be a new flagship without some fancy AI tools for your photos! You’ll find features like ‘Suggested Erases’ in Generative Edit, which, as the name suggests, smartly recommends things to remove from your pictures. There’s also an Auto mode in Audio Eraser, which sounds intriguing for video.

Plus, the Z Fold 7 uses Samsung’s next-gen ProVisual Engine, meaning it can process images even faster. So, you should get quick, sharp results every time.

Final Thoughts

Even though it doesn’t have “Ultra” in its name, the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 really feels like Samsung went all out for this one. It’s packed with more upgrades than ever in a foldable smartphone, which is super exciting. That upgraded camera sounds especially intriguing on paper, with all those megapixels. I’m so looking forward to putting it through its paces in our review to see how it performs in real life.

Beyond the camera, there are other great changes too, like a brand-new chipset that boosts performance, bigger screens for an even better viewing experience, and a much slimmer and lighter design. It’s a shame the battery capacity hasn’t increased, but honestly, that’s a minor thing compared to what great features the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 offers.

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks like it could be a fantastic foldable smartphone. It promises to be another one of the best smartphones that Samsung has to offer this year. If you’re happy and super excited about the new Galaxy smartphone, let me know about it at the comments below. And if you wanna take a look at what’s on offer, CLICK HERE to find out more. Thanks for time. Stay safe until next time 😀

Pros

  • Useful health metrics
  • Detailed running guidance
  • Precise heart rate monitor
  • Impressive sleep tracker

Cons

  • High price
  • Some metrics take awhile to calibrate

Let’s chat about the Pixel Watch 3. Even though it has the same processor and sensors as the previous model, it’s still a pretty solid upgrade. You’re getting a better 1.6-inch screen, and some fresh Fitbit features that come in handy.

One of the coolest things is that you get all of Fitbit’s awesome health insights and precise workout recommendations without having to pay extra. These details really help the Pixel Watch 3 keep pace with tough rivals like the Galaxy Watch 7. Honestly, I still lean a tiny bit towards Samsung’s watch because it has extra tracking for things like body composition.

But here’s a big plus for the Pixel Watch 3: it actually has better battery life than the Galaxy Watch 7! So, if you’re a fan of Fitbit’s excellent app and all its workout guidance, this watch is definitely a worthwhile investment.

5 – Garmin Venu Sq 2

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.4-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android & iOS
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, GPS, Heart Rate Monitor, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor

  • Very impressive battery life
  • Light weight design
  • Built-in GPS
  • Lots of health metrics

Cons

  • No fancy animated workout graphics

If you’re on the hunt for a fitness smart watch, and let me tell you, the market is packed with options. Yet the Garmin Venu Sq 2 really stands out because it’s just so incredibly practical.

First off, it’s the most budget-friendly in Garmin’s Venu 2 series. And get this: its square design actually makes text easier to read than on a round watch, which is a huge bonus. Plus, this watch lasts up to nine days on a single charge. Now that’s awesome battery life.

Now, it won’t track how many floors you’ve climbed, and it doesn’t have those fancy animated workout graphics. But honestly, it gives you all the same fantastic health and fitness tracking features as the round Venu 2.

If you happen to have the original Venu Sq, it’s totally worth thinking about upgrading to this one for that boosted battery life, the much nicer AMOLED display, and the updated heart rate sensor.

Sure, the Apple Watch SE and Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 are on price range and offer more apps and lifestyle features. But here’s the thing: they consume more battery power faster. So, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced smart watch that truly focuses on your fitness goals, the Garmin Venu Sq 2 is recommended. It’s super comfortable, has built-in GPS, amazing battery life, and all the best health and fitness features of its pricier sibling.

4 – Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best for Android Users

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.9-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android
  • Special feature: Energy Score, Wellness Tips, Heart Rate Tracking, Sleep Monitor, Fitness Tracker, GPS

Pros

  • Large square display
  • Fast performance
  • Titanium design
  • Includes powerful fitness features
  • Tough & durable

Cons

  • Very expensive
  • Exclusive to Samsung smartphones

Let’s talk about the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. From a tech perspective, this is definitely Samsung’s biggest and best watch yet. It’s built to last longer, it’s more powerful, way more durable, and it looks totally different from Samsung’s other smartwatches.

It comes in a titanium design and is packed with powerful features perfect for outdoor adventures. The larger Super AMOLED display is very sharp and clear, even when you’re out in bright sunshine.

In terms of performance, it’s impressive, though you’ll get the absolute best experience if you pair it with a Samsung smartphone. Just a heads-up, it doesn’t work with iPhones, but it’s clearly Samsung’s answer to Apple’s popular Ultra series.

Beyond integrating with SmartThings, some of the coolest things about this watch is the updated Exynos W1000 chipset, the durability, the super accurate GPS, and Samsung’s awesome ability to measure your body’s muscle and fat composition.

It’s almost the ultimate fitness tool, with extensive sleep tracking to help you feel your best every day. We did find it a bit big and heavy to wear overnight during our tests, though. Overall, this is Samsung’s best and has taken its position as one of the best smart watches of 2025.

3 – Amazfit Active 2

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Affordable

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.3-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Zepp OS
  • Compatibility: Android & iOS
  • Special feature: Energy Score, Wellness Tips, Heart Rate Tracking, Sleep Monitor, Fitness Tracker, GPS

Pros

  • Impressive battery life
  • Classic premium design
  • Affordable price
  • Impressive health tracker
  • Light & comfortable to wear

Cons

  • Small display

Let’s chat about the Amazfit Active 2. For just under US$ 100, this watch is pretty unbelievable.

Firstly, it has this awesome, classic stainless steel design that really stands out from other wearables out there. It looks so premium that you’d think its expensive. I absolutely love how light and comfortable it feels to wear, and the small screen looks excellent with good brightness.

But it’s not just about looks! This watch comes packed with features: 164 sport modes, AI coaching, and super extensive health tracking, including a daily ‘Readiness Score’ and all the usual health metrics you’d expect.

There are a couple of tiny quirks with the strength training feature, but the battery life is exceptional. It lasts 5 days on moderate use. I also liked the AI assistant. Its fitness and health tracking can totally keep up with even other top smart watches, such as the the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Plus, it works well with both iOS and Android!

In the end, the Amazfit Active 2 is an excellent affordable smartphone. Perfect for those who are working under a budget.

2 – OnePlus Watch 3

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best for Battery Life

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.5-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: Wear OS
  • Compatibility: Android
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, Heart Rate Monitor, GPS, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor, Gyroscope, Light Sensor, Pulse Oximeter, Barometer

Pros

  • Impressive battery life
  • Precise sleep & exercise tracker
  • Classic look with rotating knob
  • Compatible with Google apps

Cons

  • Only the 1.5-inch size
  • No LTE or cellular option

Here’s a brand-new smartwatch for 2025 that you absolutely have to hear about: check out the OnePlus Watch 3. It’s an absolutely fantastic new Wear OS smartwatch that takes everything awesome about its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2, and makes it even better.

You’re going to love its bold, chunky design, the truly impressive AMOLED display, and get this: It’s one of the best smart watches of 2025 because of the long battery life feature. From testing, it totally lived up to its claim lasting an amazing 120 hours, and I was also impressed with all its health and communication features.

Its classic, round look really makes it stand out from other Wear OS options, but you still get the entire suite of Google apps and everything else you’d expect from a Wear OS smartwatch. Plus, it’s cheaper than the Pixel Watch 3 (at least at its regular price!), comes with a handy rotating crown, and a screen I described as “sumptuous.”

And here’s some even better news: a smaller version and LTE support are coming later this year. But for now, the OnePlus Watch 3 is one smart watch to get right now.

1 – Apple Watch Ultra 2

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best for Apple Users

Specs

  • Screen size: 1.9-inch AMOLED
  • Operating system: watchOS 11
  • Compatibility: iOS
  • Special feature: Accelerometer, GPS, Heart Rate Monitor, Blood Oxygen Monitor, Temperature Sensor

Pros

  • Impressive performance
  • Good brightness
  • Excellent connectivity features
  • Impressive battery life
  • Good durability features
  • Cheaper than the Apple Watch Ultra 2

Cons

  • Most expensive smart watch
  • Same design as previous model
  • Exclusive to iPhone users

If you’re looking for the absolute top-tier smart watch, let me tell you about the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This thing is seriously amazing. It boasts one of the best screens we’ve ever seen on a wearable, with its gorgeous Retina Display that comes with incredibly brightness.

Now, it is bigger and a bit bulkier than the standard Apple Watch, and it’s powered by the Apple S9 processor, which enables that super cool Double Tap gesture. Beyond that, it’s pretty much identical to the original Apple Watch Ultra.

Even though its battery life could still be better (though it does last longer than the regular Apple Watch Series 10), its powerful and accurate GPS is fantastic for exploring. Especially with watchOS 11’s improved hiking waypoints feature, it’s a real game-changer for adventurers. Plus, it also works as your diving companion, thanks to the Oceanic Plus app.

Even with the launch of the Apple Watch Series 10, the Ultra 2 just barely snags the win to keep its title as the best Apple Watch, all thanks to its beefy battery life and rugged design.

The only real downsides are that it needs an iPhone to work and, well, its high price. But honestly, if you’re just looking at smartwatches purely from a technical standpoint, this is the best one out there. As you can see from the specs, it’s got the biggest, brightest screen, can dive the deepest underwater, and is made with ultra-hard titanium.

Final Thoughts

So, there you have it, our deep dive into the Best Smartwatches of 2025! • Screen: 12.7-inch IPS LCD 144Hz (2944 x 1840)
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8300
  • Storage: 128GB
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • OS: Android 14
  • Weight: 1.37lbs (621g)
  • Battery: 10200mAh, up to 8 hours battery life

Pros

  • Large screen
  • Includes stylus pen and fast charger
  • Includes microSD card reader
  • Great for multitasking
  • Good performance
  • Impressive battery life

Cons

  • Screen lacks good brightness
  • No water or dust resistance
  • More software updates needed

You know how sometimes you find a real gem that gives you way more than you expect for the price? Introducing the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro! It’s packed with features you rarely see in tablets at its price range.

If you’re into streaming movies or listening to music, you’re going to love its awesome high-resolution screen and loud audio speakers. But here’s where it gets even better: it’s also a performance tablet that helps you get your stuff done! Thanks to its speedy performance, the included stylus pen, and software that lets you multitask like you’re on a PC, is super handy for productivity.

Now, it’s not absolutely perfect, of course. It would be nice if the screen were a little brighter, and we wish Lenovo would commit to a few more years of software updates. But honestly, for the that price, those are pretty minor trade-offs.

So overall, if you’re looking for an Android tablet under US $400, the Idea Tab Pro is the one to beat. I even recommend as one of the most affordable and best tablets of 2025 which means its in par with the best.

2 – Apple iPad Mini (2024)

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen: 8.3-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD (2226 x 1448)
  • Processor: Apple A17 Pro
  • Storage: 128GB / 256GB / 512GB
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • OS: iPadOS 18
  • Weight: 293g (Wi-Fi) / 297g (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
  • Battery: 5078mAh, up to 7 hours battery life

Pros

  • Impressive performance
  • Good hardware specs
  • Compact & portable
  • Supports Apple Intelligence
  • Works well with Apple Pencil Pro

Cons

  • Small display
  • Average design

The iPad Mini (2024) is still a well-made little tablet and incredibly easy to carry around. Out of all the cool new stuff for the 2024 model, Apple’s A17 Pro processor and the improved memory, stand out the most.

That new processor really gives it a huge boost in performance, letting it run things like Apple Intelligence and work with the fancy new Apple Pencil Pro. Plus, they’ve even upgraded its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which is a nice bonus!

Now, it’s not totally perfect. It would be awesome if it were waterproof – imagine all the new places you could use it. And if the camera were centered, video calls would be way better. Even with those small things, the iPad mini is a great pick if you love its small size and mostly want it for taking notes or watching stuff.

If you’re just a casual user, you could totally save some cash and go for the regular iPad. But if you’re a student or someone who creates a lot, the more powerful iPad Air might be a better fit for getting work done. Overall, if you’re comfortable with a smaller Apple tablet, the iPad Mini could be for you.

Okay, so let’s talk about the M4-powered Apple iPad Pro. Honestly, for most folks, this tablet is probably total overkill. It’s got insane performance, impressive power, but it comes at a high price.

But, I’ve got to admit, it’s so incredible. It boasts one of the best screens you’ll find on any tablet. It’s super slim, light in weight, and looks fantastic. Plus, it’s got really fast wired and wireless charging connections, top-notch cameras, and pretty good battery life. And don’t even get me started on its first-party accessories – they’re outstanding!

All in all, it’s my personal favorite, and one I can gladly recommend as one of the best tablets of 2025 to get now, especially if you’re a creative student or content creator looking for a slim, lightweight tablet that can handle practically anything you throw at it. The Apple iPad Air is a more affordable alternative if your budget is against you.

  • Battery: 10200mAh, up to 8 hours battery life

  • Affordable iPad
  • Good performance
  • Good hardware spec

Cons

  • Nothing new from the previous model
  • No Apple Intelligence

You’re looking for a new and affordable iPad, and you’re wondering which one to get, right? Well, let me tell you about the new Apple iPad (11th generation) model. Now, it’s not the most powerful of all of Apple’s iPads, but it’s the one most folks should probably get especially if you’re an Apple fan.

This 11th-generation iPad is just a well-made piece of tech. It’s got an impressive display, good performance, and plenty of battery life to get you through the day.

Plus, the cameras are actually better than most other tablets out there. We totally wished Apple had pushed the envelope a bit more with some features, but honestly, the upgraded A16 chip gives this iPad all the oomph it needs for everyday stuff. Think smooth web browsing, gaming, and impressive streaming of high quality videos – it handles it all.

And get this, at just under US$ 350, it’s yours, and my top pick for an affordable iPad, which makes it one of the best tablets of 2025 ready for you to buy. It’s truly an amazing deal.

Now, if you’re a student in the creative arts, you may want to consider stepping up to the Apple iPad Air. It’s got an even better screen, more processing power, and Apple Intelligence which sounds pretty cool for your creative endeavors. And for the serious professionals out there, the Apple iPad Pro is the way to go if you need the absolute best performance. But for everyone else, the Apple iPad (11th generation) is seriously an excellent choice!

5 – Apple iPad Air M3 (2025)

★ ★ ★ ★

Specs

  • Screen: 12.7-inch IPS LCD 144Hz (2944 x 1840)
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8300
  • Storage: 128GB
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • OS: Android 14
  • Weight: 1.37lbs (621g)
  • Battery: 10200mAh, up to 8 hours battery life

Pros

  • Great performance
  • Impressive display
  • Solid camera system
  • Includes Apple Intelligence

Cons

  • No ground breaking changes from previous model

The Apple iPad Air (2025) is not a ground breaking Apple tablet, but it makes up for it because of the new, the Apple M3 chip.

Now, that M3 chip does give the Air a nice little boost when it comes to performance, and it helps out with cool new features like Apple Intelligence, battery life, and even for creativity creating and imaging. But besides that, the hardware and most of its functions are pretty much the same as the previous model.

Even with that relatively small upgrade, the iPad Air is still an absolute winner, especially if you’re a student or a creator. It’s got plenty of power, and is another great option as one of the best.

6 – Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus

  • Useful AI & productivity features

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Camera system good but not great

To all Android fans, I haven’t left you out.  let me tell you about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ – this tablet is seriously awesome! It’s super powerful, speedy, and just feels really well-made.

Under the hood, it’s rocking a MediaTek chip, which means it can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Whether you’re on video calls, getting creative with some drawing, diving into intense gaming, or just getting your work done, this tablet won’t break a sweat.

Samsung has also done some really cool things with its software, making Android even better than what you’d find on other tablets. And the new Galaxy AI? That just adds even more fun and functionality! When you put it all together, it’s no wonder the Galaxy Tab S10+ is our recommendation as one of the best tablets of 2025. It’s truly top-tier!

Now, if you’re looking to save some cash, you could consider the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. You’d be getting many of the same great multitasking features for almost half the price! Just keep in mind that you’ll have a slightly less vibrant screen, a bit slower performance, and shorter battery life, plus no Galaxy AI. But for a mid-range Android tablet, it’s still our top pick.

And if you’re more of an Apple person, no worries! The iPad Pro is definitely your best bet for getting serious work done in that ecosystem.

Pros

  • Cheap
  • Comes with a large display

So, let’s talk about the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+. If you’re looking for a tablet that gives you a lot of bang for your buck, this one is a really solid choice!

It handles all your everyday stuff, like getting work done, without a hitch, thanks to some clever tweaks Samsung made to its software. Plus, it’s great for streaming all your favorite movies and shows, and it even runs more demanding games pretty well! Oh, and if you need to stay connected on the go, there’s even a 5G-compatible version available. How cool is that?

Now, a couple of things could be a little better, like the battery life and the base storage, which is 64GB. But honestly, those are minor points when you consider everything else this tablet offers. Pros

Cons

  • No Galaxy AI
  • 5G limited to smaller model

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ tablet isn’t going to completely change how you think about Android tablets, but it does make the experience a whole lot better where it really matters!

Even though it doesn’t have all the fancy AI features you’d find in Samsung’s super high-end tablets, you still get some amazing stuff.

We’re talking about a big, bright screen, long-lasting battery life, plenty of power for whatever you need to do, and comes with an S Pen stylus. If you’re already an Android fan, this tablet is a really attractive option.

So, if you’re looking for a tablet that perfectly balances great performance with a great price, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ is yet another tablet worth recommending.

Think of it this way: you get a lot of the same cool features as the super high-end Tab S9, but for way less cash. Now, it’s not quite as powerful as the regular Tab S9, but the Tab S9 FE+ still feels really well-made and has more than enough oomph for all your daily tasks. Sending emails, playing games, kicking back with video streams – it handles it all beautifully!

Full disclosure, like most Android tablets, it’s still not going to completely replace your laptop. But honestly, considering the price, that’s totally fine! Plus, Samsung’s DeX mode and all their extra multitasking software actually make it a better choice for getting things done than, say, the Pixel Tablet.

Oh, and if the Tab S9 FE+ feels a bit too big or pricey for you, don’t worry! We also highly recommend its slightly smaller and more affordable sibling, the Tab S9 FE.

  • Includes touchscreen

CONS

  • Average performance
  • Dated design & HD display

If you’re looking for a Chromebook that’s easy on your budget, you might want to check out the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook

With performance, it’s not the most powerful Chromebook out there, but ChromeOS runs super smoothly on it. So, for all your everyday school work, from research or writing papers, to web surfing or sending emails, it’s not going to let you down.

And when you’re ready to relax after a long day of studying, you can use it to watch video streams of your favorite shows and movies. Just keep in mind that the screen is not that impressive, so it might not be the most immersive experience for an epic movie night.

One of the coolest things about this Chromebook, especially for the price, is its 2-in-1 design. That’s pretty rare! This means you can use it like a regular laptop, or you can flip it around and use it like a tablet. Talk about flexible! It’s super handy for students because you get the best of both worlds without needing to buy two separate devices.

And get this – the battery life is seriously impressive. When we tested it, it lasted 16 hours playing videos! So, you can pretty much guarantee it’ll get you through a whole school day (and then some!) without needing to hunt for an outlet.

Sounds like a pretty good all-rounder for student life, right? Try it. You’ll see what I mean.

PROS

  • Great value for money
  • Good battery life
  • Good overall performance

CONS

  • No stylus pen included

Meet the Inspiron 14, the impressive and compact 2-in1 laptop tablet from Dell. One of our top-rated laptops and is perfect for students. Even though it has a slightly smaller 14-inch screen, it pretty much keeps all the fantastic features of the bigger 16-inch model.

We’re talking strong performance that can handle your workload, and it’s super versatile thanks to its touchscreen and a hinge that lets it flip all the way around – talk about flexibility! Plus, the price is really competitive for what you get.

Now, just like its 16-inch big brother, it doesn’t come with a stylus pen. However, that’s a minor detail when you look at everything else it offers!

I seriously loved testing the Inspiron 14 2-in-1. That 1080p webcam is a huge bonus for all those video calls and online classes, and it performs really well – you might even be able to squeeze in some light gaming!

And the battery life? Excellent! It also charges up super fast, which is a lifesaver when you’re rushing between classes. Honestly, I found it really hard not to recommend this laptop! Ready to upgrade your study setup? Try the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 laptop.

For most folks just looking for a reliable daily driver, this laptop is a winner. It’s priced really reasonably, and it’s got enough power to handle all your everyday tasks – think emails, video streaming, browsing online – for the next three to five years, easily. That’s a pretty sweet deal.

The Acer Swift Go 14 also comes with some cool extras that you’ll appreciate. It has a built-in Copilot AI, which is a Microsoft thing, but it even has its own special processing unit and a dedicated button on the keyboard to bring it up. How neat is that? Thinking about getting a new laptop to help you with your school work or assignments? You should check out the Acer Aspire 5 (2022). Yes, I said it. It’s one of our top rated laptops for students right now.

Why? Well, it’s affordable, which is a huge bonus when you’re on a budget. And even though its Intel processor isn’t the absolute newest, it’s still performs well, especially when you compare it to other laptops in the same price range. This means it’ll handle all your daily school tasks without any problems.

Since it runs Windows 11 as its operating system, you get access to all the familiar desktop programs, unlike Chromebooks that often gives you access to only basic versions of their apps.

Just a heads-up, though: because of its price and age, it’s not going to be a powerful laptop for things like video editing or heavy-duty gaming. But for all your essay writing, research, and general coursework, it’s an awesome choice.

If you want something reliable that won’t cost you so much money, and you’re not looking for a Chromebook, choose the Acer Aspire 5 laptop.

  • Entry model cheaper but weak specs

Calling all MacBook fans. If you’re studying something creative, or even if you just love making content as a serious hobby, you absolutely need to check out the 13-inch MacBook Air (M3) from Apple. Seriously, it’s probably the best laptop for you, and if you’re a student, a must have.

Apple’s M-series processor is almost unparalleled when it comes to creative workloads, and this 13-inch MacBook Air, release in 2024, crams all that creative power into a compact, but durable metal chassis.

The M3 chip offers yet another step up in performance from the 2022 M2 model, marking this as a prime pick for any students who plan to spend a lot of time creating content such as digital art, video editing, 3D design, and animation. Despite the great performance, it’s also silent in use since it’s passively cooled with no fans, and the battery life is phenomenal.

Sadly, this is one of the most expensive laptops on this list, so it’s not for the faint of heart. You’ll probably want to opt for a model slightly above the base version too, since that iteration skimps on RAM with only 8GB where 16GB should really be the minimum.

In the end, the Apple MacBook Air (M3) offers better performance, a slightly better design, and a cheaper price on the base model compared to older models. This is easily the best MacBook money can buy for most people, though I recommend boosting the memory and storage space when ordering. It makes it more expensive, but will last you many more years.

THE BAD STUFF

  • Heavy gaming laptop at 2.8kg
  • Disappointing heat management
  • 720p Webcam not the best

For a budget gaming laptop, Dell crammed a lot of features and functionality into the Dell G16. With a GeForce RTX 4060 graphics and a fast Intel Core CPU inside, the Dell G16 managed to perform impressive on normal use as well as with the best gaming performance experienced on Full HD.

It’s difficult to find fault with the Dell G16 when it comes with a excellent “Cherry MX” keyboard, a gorgeous 16-inch 1600p IPS display with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and a good variety of ports to connect to your devices.

With budget gaming laptops you can expect a few snags. First, the Dell G16 feels more like a desktop replacement thanks to its weight of 2.8 kgs (6.2 lbs.). Next, the webcam is looks and feels outdated, and the video doesn’t look good from the other side. Lastly, the heat generated from prolong use is not managed well enough, and will start to feel you feel uncomfortable.

These, however, are comparatively small criticisms of an affordable  gaming laptop, such as the Dell G16, that excels in terms of performance under a fair price.

2 – MSI Katana 15 (2024)

★ ★ ★ ★

SPECS

  • Display: 15.6-inch 144Hz IPS FHD (1920 x 1080p)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050/4060/4070

THE GOOD STUFF

  • Good gaming performance
  • Decent display with fast refresh rate
  • Decent keyboard
  • Speakers sound average

THE BAD STUFF

  • Short battery life
  • Mediocre design

The MSI Katana 15 (2024) is a great choice if you want to play games on a laptop without spending a lot of money. It’s not the fanciest looking laptop out there; in fact, it actually looks a bit like older gaming laptops.

However, it’s perfect for people who don’t want to spend over US$2,000 to play the newest games on the highest settings. It performs well on a Full HD gaming laptop, meaning games will look good and run smoothly.

There are a few trade-offs, like its mediocre looks and shorter battery life, but these are minor compared to the good gaming experience it offers. You won’t feel held back by its limitations when you’re playing.

Overall, the MSI Katana 15 (2024) is one of the best budget gaming laptops because it balances good looks, performance, and price. It’s an ideal first gaming laptop for many, and a definite recommendations to buy now.

3 – MSI Cyborg 15

★ ★ ★ ★

SPECS

  • Display: 15.6-inch 144Hz IPS FHD (1920 x 1080p)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050
  • Memory: 16GB DDR5
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Ports: 2x USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio
  • Other: Touchscreen, backlit keyboard

THE GOOD STUFF

  • Impressive gaming performance
  • Impressive quality display
  • Excellent keyboard
  • Decent battery life

THE BAD STUFF

  • Heavy gaming laptop at 2.8kg
  • Disappointing heat management
  • 720p Webcam not the best

The MSI Cyborg 15 is another budget gaming laptop that offers a lot for its price, especially if you’re new to PC gaming or on a budget.

What’s great about it is that it looks good, has strong performance, and costs less than $1,000. The screen also has a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which is great for gaming. You can even use it for everyday work, as long as it’s plugged in.

What’s not great about it, however, the screen could be brighter and show more colors. Also, the battery life doesn’t last very long when unplugged.

Overall, the MSI Cyborg 15 is definitely worth considering because of its good performance for the price and its unique style.

4 – Acer Nitro V

★ ★ ★

SPECS

  • Display: 15.6-inch 165Hz IPS FHD (1920 x 1080p)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 or i7
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070/4050
  • Memory: 16GB DDR5
  • Storage: 1TB SSD
  • Ports: 2x USB-A, 2x USB-C, Ethernet, headphone jack, HDMI
  • Other: 720p webcam

THE GOOD STUFF

  • Compact design
  • Includes DLSS options to boost performance
  • Includes special key to disable touchpad
  • Average battery life
  • Decent performance for general productivity

THE BAD STUFF

  • Disappointing performance for gaming
  • Loud fans due to NitroSense software
  • Display not so great due to low color accuracy

The Acer Nitro V 15 isn’t a great gaming laptop. It doesn’t have many special features, and its overall performance isn’t as impressive. Even though it can handle some games thanks to a feature called Nvidia DLSS, it’s not powerful enough for demanding tasks like video editing or 3D design.

Plus, the screen doesn’t show colors very well. The laptop even struggles with basic things like “Browse” the internet unless you turn on “performance mode,” which makes it too loud to use comfortably. Fortunately, there are better options in the market. First is the MSI Cyborg 15 which is a good choice for its price. Next is the Dell G16, which is a bit more expensive and having its own minor issues, still provides a solid gaming experience.

Overall, I recommend you consider it before purchase. Look at other options. Don’t buy the Acer Nitro V 15 just yet. You’ll get much more for your money with the other options mentioned.

5 – Asus TUF A15 (2024)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

SPECS

  • Display:15.6 in FHD IPS 144Hz (1920 x 1080p)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 or 9
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060

  • Storage: 1TB SSD
  • Ports: audio jack, 2 x USB 3.2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Type-C, USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI 2.0b
  • Other: 720p webcam

THE GOOD STUFF

  • Impressive gaming performance
  • Good value
  • Impressive battery life
  • Lots of input ports

THE BAD STUFF

  • Quite heavy
  • Noisy fans

The Asus TUF A15 is an excellent and affordable gaming laptop. It really hits the sweet spot between strong performance and a good price. It’s great for gaming at 1080p resolution. It’s built using tough, durable material, and has many different input ports. This makes it a popular choice, especially for those who play competitive sports games.

What not so great is a number of things. Firstly, the cooling fans can get noisy. It quite heavy thanks to the extras, such as the build material and the number of input ports.

In the end, If you don’t mind the minor things, I recommend you purchase the Asus TUF A15 gaming laptop. It’s not as good as the more expensive gaming laptops, but if you’re a first-time gamer, looking for a one of the best budget gaming laptops, this is a must buy.

  • Video: Up to 8K video at 30fps

Pros

  • Impressive performance
  • Impressive battery life
  • Superb camera features
  • Impressive durability
  • Includes AI capabilities
  • Gorgeous display

Cons

  • Heavier than S23 Ultra
  • AI features are hidden
  • AI features good and bad

Though the previously great smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, was and still is the best alternative to go for, it came with a few unexpected flaws.

Although still excellent to view, the screen wasn’t perfect. The charging speed of the smartphone was still a problem, and the camera zoom’s software had a few hiccups thanks to rushed software development. When you decide to get the smartphone, it’s a good idea to check for the newest updates to fix the flaws.

Yet the Galaxy S24 Ultra is still one of Samsung’s best smartphones, and the most complete package you can buy right now. Compared to the new Galaxy S25 Ultra, the screen’s a little larger, weighs less, and comes with a faster processor. But if you were to put both phones side-by-side, and test the performance, you won’t really notice the difference.

After a year, the titanium frame material on the S24 Ultra still looks good and feels great. The battery life is still excellent, the built-in stylus S Pen still performs as good as ever, the camera system still takes great pictures and records detailed videos… What more can you really ask for instead of the newer and more expensive S25 Ultra.

Ultimately, as old as it is (even by a year), the Galaxy S24 Ultra is still one of the best smartphones to buy, and the one I recommend as one of the best alternatives. However, if you a prefer a new Android smartphone with better features, a bigger display, and don’t mind paying more, get the new Galaxy S25 Ultra.

2 – Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

iPhone 16 Pro Max Specs

  • Display: 6.9-inches, Super Retina XDR OLED (1320 x 2868 pixels)
  • CPU: Apple A18 Pro
  • Storage: 256GB/512GB/1TB
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Battery: 4685mAh, supports wired, wireless, and reverse wireless charging
  • OS: iOS 18
  • Camera: 48MP (wide); 12MP (periscope telephoto) with 5x optical zoom; 48MP (ultrawide) | 12MP (wide) selfie camera
  • Video: Up to 4K at 120fps

Pros

  • Impressive but not ground-breaking design
  • Cheaper than S25 Ultra
  • Excellent screen
  • Impressive battery life
  • Fast performance
  • Takes detailed pictures & video (day and night)
  • Includes the “dynamic Island” feature

Cons

  • Slow charging speed
  • Still expensive
  • iOS is a love-hate affair

The Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max is another competitor and one of the best alternatives to the new Galaxy S25 Ultra. The reason why I say this is because the 16 Pro Max has a class-leading build, an impressively bright and vibrant screen, superb battery life, impressive audio speakers, fast performance, and, of course, some of the best cameras on the market from its triple-camera lens system.

If you compare it to the S25 Ultra, it comes with the same build titanium design, same size (yet equally impressive) display but with more pixels, impressive battery life with a bigger battery, impressive audio delivery, fast performance, and comes with an impressive quad-camera system with enhanced zooming features. Let’s not forget the stylus S Pen included.

Released back in 2024, the iPhone 16 Pro Max it comes with its own pros and cons. One such is the iOS operating system which may not be for everyone but it’s secure filing system and various restrictions make it easy to work with use.

In the end, both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S25 Ultra are top-tier flagship smartphones. Both are cutting-edge devices that excel in different areas. Deciding which one is the best really comes down to your personal preferences and what features you want from a smartphone.

If you prefer a flexible and customizable Android phone with a stylus S Pen to expand your creativity and usage, more zoom features with the camera, and a faster wired charging, get the Galaxy S25 Ultra. If, however, you prefer a less expensive top-tier smartphone with a simple user interface, takes natural photos and videos, and comes with fast facial ID unlock, get the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

3 – Google Pixel 9 Pro XL

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL Specs

  • Display: 6.8-inches, OLED, 120Hz (1344 x 2992 pixels)
  • CPU: Google Tensor G4
  • Storage: 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Battery: 5060mAh, supports 37W wired, wireless, and reverse wireless charging
  • OS: Android 14
  • Camera: 50 MP (wide), 48 MP (periscope telephoto) with 5x optical zoom, 48 MP (ultrawide) | 48 MP (wide) selfie camera
  • Video: Up to 8K video at 30fps

Pros

  • Lower price
  • Long battery life with fast charging
  • Takes great natural photos
  • Impressive performance
  • Bright and vibrant display
  • 7-year Android security and updates
  • Great AI features

Cons

  • Battery charging not fast competitively
  • Good camera features but limited
  • Recorded video quality mediocre

Those of you that really likes a pure Android phone, with the latest smart AI features, and takes amazing photos and videos that look natural often pick the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. It includes a fast powerful processor, a bright gorgeous display, a computerized photo system to enhance photos, takes great selfies, a large battery with good battery life, and includes a number of innovative Al features.

Though the battery charging is not as fast as other leading brands, and the mediocre quality videos, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is a better option of you don’t want a phone with a lot more features.

Compared to the S25 Ultra, the screen size is a bit larger with more pixels, it comes with a quad camera with more features, fast performance, a slightly smaller battery however has more battery life, and comes with a stylus.

Ultimately, the comparison between the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is a classic Android showdown, as both phones represent the pinnacle of what their respective companies offer. There isn’t one that’s most preferred universally; it truly depends on what you as a user values most.

If you prefer the touch screen functions of the stylus S Pen, with more features such as the zoom, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely your choice. If, however, you prefer a cheaper alternative, with Google’s AI features, a cleaner Android experience, and an excellent photography experience overall, the Pixel 9 Pro XL will likely be a better choice.

4 – Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Specs

  • Display: 6.7-inches, AMOLED, 120Hz (1440 x 3120 pixels)
  • CPU: Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • Storage: 256GB/512GB
  • RAM: 12GB
  • Battery: 3900mAh, supports 25W wired, 15W wireless
  • OS: Android 15
  • Camera: 200 MP (wide), 12 MP (ultrawide) | 12 MP (wide) selfie camera
  • Video: Up to 4K video at 60fps

Pros

  • Build using premium titanium material
  • Top-class performance
  • Takes impressive quality photos
  • Impressively ultra-slim and lightweight
  • Impressive Android UI experience
  • Great battery life

Cons

  • Water/dust resistance not as great as other brands
  • Audio speakers sound average
  • No telephoto camera and takes average low-light photos
  • Same price as the S25 Ultra
  • Slow battery charging

It’s clear that Samsung made some compromises with the Galaxy S25 Edge to create a phone that looks and feels different. This phone isn’t trying to be better than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it’s not meant to compete with other phones that focus heavily on their cameras.

Instead, Samsung designed the S25 Edge for people who are tired of big camera bumps and heavy phones. It’s a very slim and light phone, which is a nice change.

However, for most people, it might not be the best choice. It has some downsides: there’s no special zoom camera, the battery is small but has decent battery life, charging isn’t very fast, and the audio speakers aren’t that great. When you consider its high price, it can be a tough sell.

Compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it has way more features, such as a larger screen, more camera features, a stylus S Pen included, and a larger battery with more battery life. The phone performance overall is similar, along with all the standard features.

Ultimately, even with these drawbacks with the S25 Edge, Samsung might be onto something different with this smartphone. It could be the start of a new line of stylish, high-end phones for people who value a premium design more than having premium features. As the price is so high now, I recommend you wait for it to drop.

5 – Xiaomi 15 Ultra

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Specs

  • Display: 6.7-inches, AMOLED, 120Hz (1440 x 3200 pixels)
  • CPU: Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • Storage: 256GB/512GB/1TB
  • RAM: 12GB
  • Battery: 5410mAh, supports 90W wired, 80W wireless, and 10 reverse wireless charging
  • OS: Android 15
  • Camera: 50 MP (wide), 50 MP (telephoto) with 3x optical zoom, 200 MP (telephoto) with 4.3x optical zoom, 50 MP (ultrawide) | 32 MP (wide) selfie camera
  • Video: Up to 8K video at 30fps

Pros

  • Impressive camera-inspired design
  • Photography kit optional to enhance photos
  • Impressive display
  • Superb battery life with decent fast charging
  • Impressive audio speakers
  • Impressive overall camera system
  • Impressive all-round performance

Cons

  • Tends to overheat from prolong use
  • Recorded videos lack sharpness quality
  • Water/dust resistance not as great as other brands
  • More expensive than the S25 Ultra

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is an incredible camera phone, and it might even be the best one out there this year.

It has a fantastic camera setup with two zoom lenses, which is better than having just one. Plus, it uses a large “1-inch” main camera sensor, which is rare this year, especially for a phone sold globally.

This makes the Xiaomi 15 Ultra an easy recommendation for anyone who loves taking photos. There’s also an improved accessory kit you can buy, making the package even better.

However, it’s not perfect. Selfies look good but not the best, and video quality could be improved. The phone can also get a bit warm if you push it really hard, and it doesn’t have the highest level of water protection (IPX9 rating) that some other phones offer.

Also, you might find that getting a really fast charger isn’t as straightforward as it used to be, but that’s a common issue with many phones now.

If you’re looking at the S25 Ultra, it has a larger but less bright screen with less pixels, a quad camera system but not as great, and a smaller battery with less battery life. With performance, build quality, and durability the two smartphones are both similar.

Overall, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s weaknesses are minor, while its strengths, especially in photography, are significant. If camera performance and fast charging are what you’re looking for, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely the more preferred choice. However, if the S Pen is a must-have, you value long-term software support, and prefer Samsung’s overall ecosystem and AI integration, the Galaxy S25 Ultra remains a strong contender.

Lastly

So, when it comes to choosing your next high-end smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra certainly stands strong. It brings fantastic performance, a vibrant screen, and that unique stylus experience that no other phone truly matches.

However, as we’ve seen, there are excellent Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Alternatives out there. If you’re a photography guru who prioritizes cutting-edge camera hardware and super-fast charging, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra might be your preference.

Or, if a pure Android experience with smart AI and natural-looking photos is more your thing, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL could be your perfect match. Even the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers a compelling alternative if you’re leaning towards Apple’s ecosystem, and let’s not forget the  exceptional quality photos and videos it creates.

Ultimately, the best smartphone isn’t about one device beating all others; it’s about finding the perfect smartphone for you. If the stylus, the powerful performance, and the overall package of the Galaxy S25 Ultra sounds like your ideal smartphone, then don’t hesitate. Get the Galaxy S25 Ultra!

If you want to find out more about these smartphones, then click on the buttons above. Alternatively, go ahead and get the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra today and experience its impressive features for yourself.

So let’s hear from you. If you like, and want to leave questions or comments, you’re more than welcome to do so below. That’s all from me. Until next time 🙂

Best of Rockstar Games to Play Now

Best of Rockstar games

So here’s the good news. The new GTA VI game is coming out. We know that and most of us saw the new trailer released last week over a dozen times. But we have to wait until May 2026 to finally get to play the game. And that’s the bad news. But hey, let’s not forget that Rockstar Games made a whole lot of great open world games, so if patience is your weakness or something you’re trying to improve on, especially when you’re waiting for the new GTA VI, then here are some of the best of Rockstar games you can play now.

Top-Rated Best of Rockstar games

6 – Grand Theft Auto III

Available: PSN, PS4, PS3, PS2, PC, Xbox
Released: 2002

“It’s just like what ‘Grand Theft Auto’ is all about. It’s a good way to see the origins of today’s popular open-world games.”

★ ★ ★ ★

Starting with the very first game 3D open world game, which was recently remastered, Grand Theft Auto III. I like how the game preserves the unique elements of the original, while bringing it to a new audience with improved graphics.

You can still see how significant this game was for open-world games despite the upgraded graphics. Even with its more antiquated layout, Liberty City is nonetheless a great destination to explore because it has a genuine, gritty feel to it.

The plot, which centers on a guy attempting to succeed in the criminal underworld, is straightforward but captivating. Also, it’s still a lot of fun to drive around, cause mayhem whilst listening to the various radio stations.

It’s just like what ‘Grand Theft Auto’ is all about. It’s a good way to see the origins of today’s popular open-world games. If you wanna relive the original GTA game that started the whole open world gaming genre, then get the remastered GTA III, included on the GTA Trilogy.

5 – Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Available: PSN, PS4, PS3, PS2, PC, Xbox
Released: 2002

“GTA Vice City has an authentic sound and style that sets it apart and gives the impression that it’s a completely new and enjoyable area to cause mischief.”

★ ★ ★ ★

Another remastered game is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City which transports you back to the 1980s. The city itself is like entering a vintage film, complete with sunny beaches, tall palm trees, and the bright neon lights.

Another major factor in this game’s excellence is the music. The entire experience is made much more amazing when you’re driving around and listening to music from the 80s era.

In addition, it’s entertaining to read about Tommy Vercetti’s rise to prominence in this ostentatious city. While it still has the typical Grand Theft Auto distinct craziness, GTA Vice City has an authentic sound and style that sets it apart and gives the impression that it’s a completely new and enjoyable area to cause mischief.

So, if you relive the nostalgia of the 80s, and play one of the most the best of Rockstar games of its time, then get yourself the remastered GTA Trilogy, which includes Vice City.

Released: 2005

“GTA San Andreas felt like a huge adventure with a lot of freedom to do what you wanted, and that made it a really special and fun game to play.”

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

What I really like about recently remastered Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is how big and varied the open world is. It’s not just one city; you get three whole cities and the countryside in between to explore. Each place feels different and has its own vibe.

Plus, you get to do so many different things in the game, like riding motorbikes, driving lowriders, listening to 90s hip hop while cruising the highway, and even flying airplanes.

The main story about our protagonist, CJ, and his journey is also really engaging, and you meet all sorts of memorable characters along the way.

It felt like a huge adventure with a lot of freedom to do what you wanted, and that made it a really special and fun game to play.

So, if you wanna relive the nostalgia of 90s, and play one of the most iconic Rockstar games of the PS2 era, then get yourself the remastered GTA Trilogy, which includes San Andreas.

Available: PSN, Xbox 360, PC
Released: 2011

“Red Dead Redemption just had this amazing feeling of adventure and a great story that made it a game I’ll still remember today”

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Even though it came out a while ago, Red Dead Redemption game is still one of the best I’ve ever played. Released in 2011, It was the very first open world Wild West game I’ve ever played.

What I liked most was the feeling of being a real cowboy. The world felt vast and open, and riding my horse across those dusty plains, shooting and using a lasso to catch criminals for bounties, and other missions, just felt awesome.

The story about our main protagonist, John Marston, trying to do right by his family, was also really well done and made you care about what happened to him. It was a bit sad at times, but it was an engaging story that stuck with you.

Even without all the fancy stuff in the second game, the first Red Dead Redemption just had this amazing feeling of adventure and a great story that made it a game I’ll still remember today.

2 – Red Dead Redemption 2

Available: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Released: 2018

“Even though it’s a long game, it’s always fun to just ride around, explore, and get into little adventures. It’s a game that really pulls you in and makes you feel like you’re part of the open world.”

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

What I really like about Red Dead Redemption 2 is how real and alive the game world feels. Riding your horse through the big open world feels like you’re actually there.

The wild animals, the towns and cities, and even the weather just adds to the realism. Plus, the story about Arthur Morgan and his gang is super interesting.

You get to know the characters and care about what happens to them. It’s not just about shooting; it’s about friendship and tough times.

Red Dead 2 is amazing on its own, but Red Dead Online brings a whole lot more adventures. One good thing is that you get to explore that same huge, beautiful world with your friends. Riding together, hunting, and just messing around in the Wild West with other players online can be a lot of fun.

Another good thing is that there’s always something new to do. They keep adding new missions, roles you can take on (like being a Bounty Hunter or a Trader), and events to play.

This means the game doesn’t get boring as quickly, and there are always reasons to come back and play. Plus, you get to make your own character and build your own story in that world, which is pretty cool.

And even though it’s a long game, it’s always fun to just ride around, explore, and get into little adventures. It’s a game that really pulls you in and makes you feel like you’re part of its world. So if it’s you’re a fan of cowboys and Wild West games with a Rockstar tweak, then give Red Dead Redemption 2 a try.

The Most Challenging PS5 Games To Play Right Now

Returnal

Available: PlayStation 5, Steam

Developers: Housemarque, Climax Studios

Released: 30 April 2021

Genres: Roguelike, Third-person shooter, Platform game, Adventure game

“Returnal’s challenge stems from its unforgiving roguelike structure, intense combat, and unpredictable environments”

★★★★

Returnal’s reputation for being a challenging PS5 game comes from a unique blend of roguelike elements and intense, fast-paced gameplay. The Roguelike structure stems from its unique gaming loop mechanism. This means that when you die, you lose most of your progress and start again back at the very beginning of the cycle. This creates a high-stakes experience where every run counts.

Grinding is not an option here. Players must rely on their skills to adapt to the ever-changing environments and enemy encounters.

The combat is fast and intense, demanding players to have quick reflexes and precision in aiming. Enemies are continuously aggressive and often unleashes a barrage of projectiles in hopes to make your gaming session extremely difficult.

The game’s environments and enemy layouts are procedurally generated, meaning that each run is different. This adds an element of unpredictability and prevents players from memorizing enemy patterns or level layouts.  This also means that the items and upgrades you find are randomized, adding to the challenge of adapting to what you are given on each run.

There are no checkpoints in this game, which amplifies the tension. Losing a run can mean losing significant progress, which can be frustrating at times, but adds to the sense of accomplishment when you finally overcome a challenge.

Boss encounters are particularly challenging, requiring players to master the game’s combat mechanics and learn complex attack patterns. They are often long, and multi phased, meaning that players must maintain focus for extended periods of time.

Returnal contains systems that can cause disadvantages to the player, and parasites that can give both benefits and detriments. This adds another layer of risk-and-reward gameplay, that can greatly increase the difficulty.

Overall, Returnal’s challenge stems from its unforgiving roguelike structure, intense combat, and unpredictable environments. It’s a game that demands persistence and rewards players who are willing to learn from their mistakes.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Available: PlayStation 5|4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Steam

Developers: Ubisoft

Released: 15 January 2024

Genres: Platform, Puzzle Solving, Action Adventure, Metroidvania

“Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown blends demanding platforming with intense combat, creating a satisfying sense of accomplishment when overcoming its obstacles

★★★★☆

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2024 action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. Based on the Prince of Persia gaming franchise, it has indeed accumulated great attention because of its fast-paced and challenging gameplay. Let’s break it down.

The game emphasizes intricate and demanding platforming sections. Players need to execute precise jumps, dashes, and utilize time-based abilities to navigate treacherous environments. These sequences can be quite challenging, demanding precise timing and coordination.

Next is the combat system, which is fast, fluid and easy to execute. However, the parry system has a small window, making it a challenge for the players to master. Enemies are aggressive and have complex attack patterns, making combat encounters intense.

If you like games such as Metroid and Castlevania, you will feel right at home. With The Lost Crown, it features interconnected levels with intricate layouts. Exploration requires careful navigation, with problem-solving elements, and often presents challenging puzzles and traps.

The game prioritizes player skill over grinding or overpowered character builds. Success relies on mastering the game’s mechanics and adapting to its challenges.

Many reviews and player experiences point to the Boss fights being very difficult. With multiple phases, and needing precise timing to evade attacks, these fights are a true test of the players abilities.

In essence, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown provides a challenging experience that rewards skill, precision, and patience. It blends demanding platforming with intense combat, creating a satisfying sense of accomplishment when overcoming its obstacles.

Nioh Collection

Available: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4

Developers: Team Ninja

Released: 3 February 2021

Genres: Action adventure, RPG, Fighting, Hack-and-Slash, Souls-like

“The Nioh series is known as one of the most challenging PS5 games today, even though it was released back in 2021.”

★★★★★

The Nioh Collection comes with two action RPG games, namely Nioh and Nioh 2. Both titles are remastered and includes all the DLCs from both titles. These action RPG games offer a fast-paced, yet challenging combat system, with a deep looting system, and a variety of Yokai enemies to battle. The high difficulty and the intricate mechanics keep players on their toes.

Nioh’s combat system is incredibly complex. It features multiple weapon stances, Ki (or stamina) management, and a wide range of skills and abilities to learn. Mastering this system requires significant time and dedication. The Ki pulse mechanic, which allows players to recover Ki after attacks, adds another layer of complexity. Timing Ki pulses correctly is essential for maintaining offensive pressure and avoiding enemy attacks.

The world of Nioh is populated with Yokai, which are supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore. They possess unique skills and often devastating attack patterns. The boss encounters are even more challenging, requiring the players to learn their attack patterns, find their weaknesses, and manage their Ki effectively. These fights often demand precision and patience.

Nioh features a deep loot system, that includes numerous weapons, armor pieces, and accessories that offer various stats and effects. It does require a series of grinding to get the best build, however creating an effective character build is crucial for survival. As players must carefully consider which weapon to choose, the armor sets to equip, and which skills to utilize in order to beat the game.

The Nioh games are known for their unforgiving nature. Even basic enemies can pose a significant threat, and mistakes made are often punished severely. The games demand that players learn from their mistakes and adapt to the challenges they face.

In essence, the Nioh series is known as one of the most challenging PS5 games today, even though it was released back in 2021. The combat is challenging. The enemies are punishing because of their complex attack patterns. And the deep looting system challenges players to work on building the most effective build. It’s a series that rewards skill, patience, and a willingness to learn from repeated failures.

Lies Of P

Available: PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S|One, PC | Steam

Developers: Neowiz, Round 8 Studio

Released: 18 September 2023

Genres: Action adventure, RPG, Fighting, Hack-and-Slash, Souls-like

“Lies of P’s difficulty stems from its complex combat system, challenging enemies, and intricate level design. However, the game rewards you because of your skills, patience, and the willingness to learn and push on when things get tough.”

★★★★

If you are more into souls-like games with puppets and robots them, make Lies of P you next game to get. It takes inspiration from the story of Pinocchio, and delivers a challenging experience with a focus on precise combat system, and parrying. This title has gained a reputation to offer the most challenging gameplay to the player. Let’s break it down and see why it’s the case.

Lies of P heavily emphasizes parrying as a core combat mechanic. Successful parries are crucial for dealing significant damage and breaking enemy posture. This demands exceptional timing and reflexes. The game’s combat system is designed to punish players who rely on dodging alone, forcing them to master the parry. This adds to the complexity of the game, creating a high ceiling, and requires dedication to learn enemy attack patterns.

The puppets, which are your enemies in Lies of P, are aggressive and possess complex attack patterns. They often have long attack strings and delayed attacks, making them difficult to predict. Boss encounters are particularly challenging, requiring players to memorize attack patterns, adapt to phase changes, and execute precise parries. These fights often feel like intense duels that demand near-perfect execution.

Hoping to find an abundance of healing potions? In Lies of P they are called ‘Pulses’ and there’s not a lot of it. Yep, resources especially healing items are limited in the game. Players need to be strategic in resource management and avoid unnecessary damage, which adds another layer of difficulty.

The intricate level design adds to the difficulty of the game, so players need to be on their toes. (Image credit: Round 8 Studio)

Another reason why this game is difficult is the level design. Lies of P features intricate level design with winding paths, hidden shortcuts, and treacherous environments. It also incorporates environmental hazards and traps, so players need to be on their toes, literally.

One of the best features is the weapon assembly system, where you can customize your weapons to match your playstyle. However, it’s a  complex effort, which adds another layer of difficulty. Understanding how different blades and handle combinations affect your weapon’s performance is key to survival. Failure to do so will make the game that much more difficult.

Since this is a start of new gaming franchise, players don’t have the luxury to refer to previous titles. That in itself also brings a new experience and more challenges to the game.

In essence, Lies of P’s difficulty stems from its complex combat system, challenging enemies, and intricate level design. However, the game rewards you because of your skills, patience, and the willingness to learn and push on when things get tough.

Bloodborne

Available: PlayStation 4

Developers: FromSoftware Inc.

Released: 24 March 2015

Genres: Action role-playing, fighting, action adventure, survival horror

“Bloodborne’s difficulty stems from the aggressive combat, challenging yet terrifying bosses including enemies, and the dark gloomy atmosphere that feels like you’re in a nightmare you don’t want to wake up from”

★★★★★

Bloodborne is a PlayStation exclusive, a 2015 action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware. Released back in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Bloodborne has made a name for itself for being the most challenging video game to complete. Wanna know why? Let’s take a look.

First of all, the game diverges from the most defensive playstyle of Dark Souls and Demon Souls, to an aggressive, fast-paced combat. You’re encouraged to stay on the offensive, dodging attacks, and using visceral attacks to finish off foes. Though the offensive style is a good switch, it demands precise timing and quick reflexes, making it a challenge for those accustomed to more cautious gameplay.

Next is the parrying system. The game encourages you to use a firearm to parry attacks. That requires precise timing and can be risky. However, successful parries reward players with powerful visceral attacks, encouraging a high-risk, high-reward approach.

Thirdly, its the game’s formidable bosses and enemies. Bloodborne’s enemies and bosses are known for their relentless aggression and unpredictable attack patterns. They often possess devastating attacks that can quickly deplete the your character’s health. Boss encounters, in particular, are intense. To beat them you need to master their attack patterns and adapt to their evolving patterns and strategies.

You want to use a shield instead to block attacks? Forget it, they’re useless in this game. Compared to previous titles, Bloodborne offers fewer defensive such as shields. They are literally absent, forcing you to rely on dodging. This emphasis on evasion and offense makes the game more challenging, so as you play the game, you must constantly be on the move while anticipating enemy attacks.

The game’s tension is increased by its eerie music and terrifying atmosphere, which makes playing Bloodborne more difficult. You may end up being confused by the game’s gloomy and ominous settings, which makes fighting and exploring much more challenging.

In the end, Bloodborne’s difficulty stems from the aggressive combat, challenging yet terrifying bosses including enemies, and the dark gloomy atmosphere that feels like you’re in a nightmare you don’t want to wake up from. Overcoming the game comes with its unique game rewards, leaving you with a sense of satisfaction and the yearn for more.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Available: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows

Developers: FromSoftware

Released: 22 March 2019

Genres: Action-adventure, role-playing

“Sekiro is another challenging game that demands your precision, quick reflexes, and the willingness to adapt to the unique combat system. If you can master it, there’s a level of satisfaction you get when you finally overcome the immense challenges.”

★★★★★

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is another action adventure game which quickly became one of the most challenging games of 2019. Developed by FromSoftware (along with other popular titles such as Dark Souls, and Bloodborne), this game takes a completely different turn, but it’s yet another challenge to play through. Here’s why.

Sekiro’s main combat strategy is to deflect enemy attacks, unlike Dark Souls or Elden Ring, which mostly rely on dodging and rolling. Precise timing and a comprehensive understanding of enemy patterns of attack are necessary for this.

Another level of complexity is introduced by the “posture” mechanism. Successful deflections are the way to go in this game, giving you a chance to execute a deadly “deathblow,” from breaking an enemy’s posture. This results in rhythmic, fierce confrontations where quick thinking is essential.

The combat system is aggressive and incredibly fast-paced. The enemies you face are relentless in their attacks, forcing you to stay on the offensive side, and to parry their attacks often in hopes to get an instant deathblow.

The combat system is aggressive and incredibly fast-paced. The enemies you face are relentless in their attacks. (Image credit: FromSoftware)

Compared to other FromSoftware titles, Sekiro has fewer RPG elements. There’s less emphasis on character builds, stat optimization, and no character leveling system. The focus is on learning the combat techniques and mastering the core combat mechanics. This means players can’t rely on grinding levels or finding powerful gear to overcome challenges.

Bosses are difficult. They demand a near-perfect execution and a thorough understanding of their attack patterns. These encounters often feel like intense duels, where one mistake can lead to a swift death.

While combat is central, Sekiro also incorporates stealth, too. You must utilize these mechanics to navigate levels and gain an advantage over enemies. This adds another layer of complexity to the gameplay.

Speaking of the combat system, it’s very unique, and very different from other FromSoftware titles. This means that those who are used to “souls” type games, have to relearn how to play a FromSoftware game without it, adding to the challenge . This relearning process can be extremely difficult.

In essence, Sekiro is another challenging game that demands your precision, quick reflexes, and the willingness to adapt to the unique combat system. If you can master it, there’s a level of satisfaction you get when you finally overcome the immense challenges.

Elden Ring

Available: PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows | Steam

Developers: FromSoftware

Released: 25 February 2022

Genres: Action Role-Playing, Adventure, Fighting game

“Elden Ring is notorious for its demanding combat, challenging bosses, and unforgiving exploration. It’s a game that rewards patience, skill, and a willingness to learn from your many, many, many deaths.”

★★★★★

FromSoftware’s open-world epic title, Elden Ring, is notorious for its demanding combat, challenging bosses, and unforgiving exploration. It’s a game that rewards patience, skill, and a willingness to learn from your many, many, many deaths.

It’s reputation for being a challenging game on the PlayStation 5 (and other platforms) stems from a combination of factors, deeply rooted in FromSoftware’s design philosophy.

Elden Ring is populated with incredibly powerful enemies and bosses, many of whom possess devastating attacks and complex move sets. The enemy encounters demand you to learn their attack patterns, timing and strategic thinking, and the willingness to learn from repeated failures. Equally bosses, however, are designed to be more challenging, often requiring you to master their attack patterns and most importantly, exploit their weaknesses.

The game’s combat system emphasizes skillful blocking, dodging, rolling, and parrying. Mistakes are often punished severely, and even minor enemies can pose a significant threat. The lack of changing difficulty options means that you all must face the same level of challenges.

The open world is breathtaking and beautiful. The game offers you freedom to explore to your heart’s content. (Image: FromSoftware)

The open world is breathtaking and beautiful. The game offers you freedom to explore to your heart’s content, yet also introduces you to uncertainty. You may easily stumble upon high-level enemies or encounter areas that are far beyond your current capabilities. No hand-holding or any assistance here, which leaves you with no choice but to discover its secrets and overcome its challenges on their own.

Elden Ring comes with a steep learning curve especially for those who have never come across ‘Souls-like’ titles. Mastering the game’s mechanics, understanding its systems, and adapting to its challenges requires patience and perseverance.

The game lets you collect ‘runes’ upon enemy defeat. You can use them to get stronger or purchase powerful weapons and gear. However, to add to the difficulty, Elden Ring penalizes you upon death, making you lose all the runes. This forces you to retrieve you lost ‘runes’ after respawning from the location of death. This adds a layer of tension and risk to exploration.

In the end, Elden Ring is a great title for those who like to explore in dangerous terrain, and are ready on whatever they encounter. The challenge is there, but you must face it head-on. While it may be a frustrating game at times, overcoming its obstacles provides a profound sense of accomplishment.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black

Available: Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, PlayStation 5|Pro

Developers: Team Ninja

Released: 23 January 2025

Genres: Fighting, hack and slash, action-adventure, adventure

“The game is one of the hardest to play today, requiring you to be patience, quick, and skillful. You need skills to play this game but it’s not impossible to learn, but once you get your head around, you will feel like a super human ninja.”

★★★★☆

Remember the 2D platforming hack-and-slash Ninja Gaiden series from the Nintendo era up until the modern Xbox? Well, Team Ninja has released one of the most violent, most intense, most challenging titles called Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.

Based on the Ninja Gaiden 2 released in 2008 on Xbox 360, the remastered version, called Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, which is release earlier on this year, continues on the well-earned reputation for its high difficulty.

The game is known for its incredibly fast and brutal combat. Enemies are aggressive. They attack relentlessly. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black needs you to be quick in attacks, with quick reflexes and execute in precise timing. You need to master complex combos and use a variety of weapons and techniques to survive to combat.

The enemies are also smart too. They often gang up on you and use coordinated attacks, forcing you to use crowd control combat techniques essential. The enemy AI is designed to literally punish you for making mistakes. Even basic enemies can pose a significant threat to your survival.

Boss encounters are challenging, requiring you to learn their complex attack patterns, find openings to attack, and execute precise dodges and counters. These battles often demand a high level of skill and patience.

This action game needs you to have skills. Yep. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black prioritizes player skills over level-grinding or overpowered character builds. It all comes down to success in mastering the game’s mechanics and adapting to its challenges. Another reason why its so hard.

The learning curve is so steep that even experienced action gaming fans find it hard. There’s a lot to master in this game, and players must be prepared to be punished for awful blunders.

Let’s not forget the camera angles. One of the most critiqued aspects of the game is the camera, especially in tight areas of the game. It gets even more frustrating when you’re cornered by enemies and the camera is literally your worse enemy. This adds another level of difficulty to the game.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is a lot of things. It’s fast and brutal. The enemy AI is aggressive. Boss encounters are challenging. The game is one of the hardest to play today, requiring you to be patience, quick, and skillful. You need skills to play this game but it’s not impossible to learn, but once you get your head around, you will feel like a super human ninja.

Developers: Techland

Release: February 2022

“Dying Light 2 is like a diamond in the rough. It’s got the potential to shine brightly, but it needs a bit of polishing”

★ ★ ★ ☆

If you enjoy killing zombies using special moves, custom melee weapons and traversing from building to building, then Dying Light 2: Stay Human is the video game for you!

It’s a great game and has the potential to be one of the best zombie survival adventure games, yet it received mediocre reviews cos of the many many bugs and glitches the game has.

The main story is not the best, but the game shines cos of the gameplay, with plenty of side quests to help grow you protagonists’ skills, and the superb graphic detail of the post-apocalyptic city, with the vibrant open-world. Let’s not forget the excellent voice acting, and the cast delightfully weird characters you’ll meet along the way.

And the zombies, they are plenty out there to kill. With an arsenal of melee weapons to play with and create, your become unstoppable. At daylight they are roaming the streets, but the fun begins at night time where challenging mothers appear.

But the more the challenge, the more stronger you become. As you run on rooftops, performing gravity-defying actions, while dodging zombies and monsters at night time, you gain more experience points than during the daytime to learn move skills, and improve your chances of survival.

Bottom line. Dying Light 2 is like a diamond in the rough. It’s got the potential to shine brightly, but it needs a bit of polishing. If you can handle the very few bumps in the road, you’ll find a thrilling survival adventure and a captivating post-apocalyptic world.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Available: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X

Developers: Warhorse Studios

Release: February 2025

“Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a deep dive into a believable, immersive medieval world. It’s a game that respects history, challenges your skills, and lets you forge your own path”

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

If medieval RPG games are more your thing or can’t wait for the new Elder Scrolls game to come out,  then here’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to enjoy while you wait.

Forget button-mashing to get you out of trouble. This game’s melee combat is brilliant but brutal, and I mean it when I say it. We’re talking realistic, skill-based swordplay that makes you feel like a skilled medieval knight in this case. It’s the kind of combat The Elder Scrolls could only dream of doing.

Now, Deliverance 2 is a mixture of all genres. It’s like it’s juggling two personalities: one part with an epic cinematic, following the story of a specific hero, and one part sprawling, with a dynamic sandbox, overflowing with side quests and the freedom to explore the open world. Sometimes, those two personalities would clash, and you might get a bit of a whiplash.

But here’s the thing, most of the time they work together beautifully. You’re free to explore the world, dive into countless side adventures, and still make your way towards a main storyline that’s genuinely thought-provoking and epic. It’s like you’re writing your own medieval saga, with a grand finale that’ll stick with you long after the credits roll.

There are a few things to note about the game. The medieval world is challenging. There’s a deep learning curve, and few bugs here and there. But once you get past all that, the games starts to work your way.

Overall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a deep dive into a believable, immersive medieval world. It’s a game that respects history, challenges your skills, and lets you forge your own path. If you’re looking for one of the best first person RPG games of 2025, that’s both gritty and grand, this one is definitely your next adventure.

To be honest – it has been awhile since we heard anything new from the popular game studios, such as Bethesda and Bioware. Then this game was released, bringing with it a fresh new action-packed space adventure.

Don’t expect anything new or massive. Instead, you’ll be exploring a series of exotic planets, each packed with side quests, moral dilemmas, and plenty of opportunities to get in and out of trouble. Think of it as a collection of mini-open worlds, each with its own unique flavor.

And the gameplay? It’s like a familiar recipe with a delicious new twist. You’ll recognize the combat, character progression, and companion systems from other popular titles, but Obsidian has sprinkled in enough unique and fresh ideas to make it look and feel genuine, not a cheap knock-off. It’s got that classic RPG feel, yet filled with its own quirky personality and sharp wit.

In the end, The Outer Worlds is a new breath of fresh air in the sci-fi, first person RPG genre. It’s a game that respects its roots while boldly forging its own. If you crave a witty, engaging, and genuinely one of the best space adventure, first person RPG games. Then try your hand at the Outer Worlds.

Fallout 4

Fallout 4

Available: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Developers: Bethesda

Release: November 2015

Fallout 4’s a game that keeps pulling you back in. Even after 50 hours, you’ll find yourself discovering new secrets, stumbling upon unexpected encounters, and getting lost in the sheer vastness of the world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

If you favor an open world in a post-apocalyptic era, where survival of the fittest is the number one priority, then Fallout 4 is the game for you.

Released back in 2015, this game is a labor of love, plain and simple. You can feel the passion poured into every single detail, from the radio stations blasting catchy tunes to the chilling, green glow of flash radiation storms. It’s a open world that is begging to be explored, a playground of post-apocalyptic sights and delights.

Let’s be honest here, crafting your perfect, gloriously bizarre character build is only half the fun. You’ll be diving into perks and customization options, trying to piece together your ultimate vault dweller turned wasteland survivor.

Sadly, it’s not a perfect game. Now, Fallout 4 has its quirks, yet it’s got those Bethesda RPG “issues,” like little glitches and inconsistencies that can sometimes throw you for a loop.

But here’s the thing: those very same quirks are also what make it unforgettable. It’s like a chaotic masterpiece, a sprawling adventure that’s as charming as it is flawed.

Overall, Fallout 4’s a game that keeps pulling you back in. Even after 50 hours, you’ll find yourself discovering new secrets, stumbling upon unexpected encounters, and getting lost in the sheer vastness of the world.

It’s the kind of game you play for hours on end, even after you’ve finished the main story. And honestly, that’s the best kind of game, isn’t it? It’s a messy, beautiful, and utterly captivating journey through the wasteland.

Best budget Apple Pencil 2 alternative

Adonit Mark

Specs

Compatible with: iPad (8th – 6th gen), iPad Pro (3rd, 4th gen), iPad Air (3rd, 4th gen), iPad mini (5th gen) | Length: 5.5 inches

Pros

  • Cheap stylus
  • Supports most iPads/smartphones
  • Comes in many colors
  • Great for taking notes & tablet navigation
  • No connection or batteries needed

Cons

  • Built from cheaper materials
  • Not recommended for drawing sketches

Looking for a stylus that won’t cost you so much money? The Adonit Mark is so budget-friendly, you might want to grab a handful for the whole family!

While it’s a fantastic alternative to the Apple Pencil, it’s not just for Apple users. It works with virtually any tablet, smartphone, or any touchscreen mobile device, making it a versatile tool for everyone.

Compatible with a wide range of iPads (from the 3rd-Gen iPad Air to the latest iPad Pro), the Adonit Mark boasts a sleek anodized aluminum body that feels great in your hand. Its clever triangular design prevents it from rolling off your desk.

Now, let’s be real: this isn’t a precision instrument for professional artists. If you’re looking to create intricate sketches, you might want to explore other options. But for casual note-taking, or just navigating your device, the Adonit Mark shines.

And at such an irresistible price, you’ll get serious bang for your buck. Who knows, maybe even those mundane home office tasks will become a little more enjoyable with this handy stylus by your side.

2 – Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil

All-round best Apple Pencil 2 alternative

Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil

Specs

Compatible with:  iPad Pro 11-inch (1st – 3rd gen), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd gen – 5th gen), iPad (8th – 6th gen), iPad Air (4th, 3rd gen), iPad mini (5th gen) | Length: 6.4 inches | Battery Life: 7.5 hours

Pros

  • Budget stylus
  • No paring needed
  • Accurate pen tip
  • Easy & comfortable to hold

Cons

  • Lacks pressure sensitivity
  • Charges via USB-C cable

The Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil has emerged as the best Apple Pencil (2nd generation) alternative we’ve encountered – and it’s not just for students. In fact, other users and reviewers actually prefer it to the Apple Pencil itself. Yes, you read that right.

This sleek, 6.4-inch aluminum stylus, weighing in at a mere 0.7 ounces (20 g), feels as good as it looks. Its carpenter-pencil-inspired design is not only stylish but also practical, preventing those frustrating roll-offs your desk, and with high review ratings, it’s clear that users agree.

The Crayon’s 2-millimeter tip offers impressive accuracy, making it a joy for both tech pros and casual users. It even supports dynamic line weight, mimicking the feel of a real pencil by adjusting line thickness based on the angle you hold it. Talk about adding a touch of artistry to your digital life!

And with battery life? No worries. The Logitech stylus claims a solid 7.5 hours on a single charge, and the quick-charge feature is a lifesaver. Just two minutes of charging gives you a 30-minute boost – perfect for those times when you’re on the go. You’ll be ready to create long before the Crayon runs out of steam.

Overall, this is a solid all-round stylus for your iPad. If you’re looking for a premium stylus that delivers on both performance and style, the Logitech Crayon is the top of the class. It’s the coolest pencil in the digital school, and it’s ready to bring your iPad experience to a whole new level.

3 – Metapen Pencil A8

Metapen Pencil A8

Specs

Compatible with: iPad (6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th generation), iPad Air (3rd, 4th, and 5th generation, and M2 models), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation, and M4 models), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generation, and M4 models), iPad Mini (5th and 6th generation) | Length: 6.5 inches | Battery Life: 10 hours

Pros

  • Great battery life
  • LED that shows power left
  • Includes palm rejection, tilt sensitivity, & impressive precision
  • Comes with two extra pencil tips

Cons

  • Heavier than other stylus brands
  • Expensive

The Metapen Pencil A8 is another Apple Pencil 2 impersonator sporting a noticeable USB-C port and an LED light. The Metapen powers on and off with a double-tap to the “eraser” end. However, this pen has some serious heft – it feels noticeably heavier than other brands.

This might be due to its super-strong magnetic attraction. When attached to the iPad, the Metapen clings on like it’s part of the tablet itself – a rock-solid connection. And just like its rivals, the Metapen delivers Apple Pencil-level performance, complete with palm rejection, tilt sensitivity, and impressive precision.

Metapen claims the tip is tough enough to draw a staggering 20 kilometers worth of lines. Bonus points for including two extra tips in the box! Battery life clocks in at a respectable 10 hours, and the LED light changes color to indicate the charge level.

The Metapen A8 is a good stylus, although the price is quite high, and feels heavier than other styluses. It has almost all the features of the Apple Pencil 2 which makes it worth considering.

It’s available in a rainbow of colors—pink, black, mint green, and the classic white, which is our favorite. It seems Metapen also offers other styluses tailored for various iPad models, so it’s worth exploring their full range.

4 – Zagg Pro Stylus

Best dual-tip stylus with tilt recognition

Zagg Pro Stylus

Specs

Compatible with:  iPad (8th – 6th gen), iPad Pro (3rd, 4th gen), iPad Air (4th gen), iPad mini (5th gen) | Length: 9.1 inches | Battery Life: 8 hours

Pros

  • Comfortable to hold
  • Premium build
  • Tilt sensitivity & palm rejection
  • Uber-precise capacitive tip
  • Magnetically attaches to iPad

Cons

  • Lacks pressure sensitivity
  • Charges via USB-C cable

Want a premium stylus experience without the premium Apple Pencil 2nd generation price tag? The Zagg Pro Stylus is a worthy contender, coming in a close second to the Logitech Crayon. This dual-tip wonder offers the best of both worlds.

One end boasts a universal capacitive touch tip—perfect for scrolling and general navigation—while the other end features an active tip designed for smooth, precise lines ideal for note-taking, drawing, and sketching. Think of it as having two tools in one!

The Zagg Pro stylus works nicely with any iPad from 2017 onwards, and it even magnetically attaches to the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models for convenient storage. Modern tech lovers will appreciate the USB-C fast-charging, which gets you a full charge in under 90 minutes.

While the Zagg Pro Stylus has a lot going for it, it’s worth noting that it lacks pressure sensitivity. So, if you’re a digital artist who relies on varying line weight based on pressure, the Apple Pencil still holds an edge. However, for everyday tasks and creative exploration, the Zagg Pro Stylus offers a compelling alternative.

5 – Apple Pencil (USB-C)

The previous USB-C version

Apple Pencil (USB-C)

Specs

Compatible with: iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gen), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen), iPad Air (4th and 5th gen), iPad mini (6th gen), iPad (10th gen) | Length: 6.1 inches | Battery Life: 11 hours

Pros

  • Cheapest stylus in the Apple Pencil range
  • Magnetic attaches to iPad
  • Includes tilt sensitivity

Cons

  • No USB-C cable included
  • Only charges using USB-C cable
  • No pressure sensitivity
  • No wireless charging or pairing

The Apple Pencil (USB-C) stylus is a great alternative to the Apple Pencil 2nd gen. It comes with three great features that stand out the most. Firstly, the ability to use a USB-C cable to charge the stylus, which sadly there’s no USB-C cable in the box. There’s also a sliding cap which reveals and hides the USB-C connector – which is very convenient.

Secondly, the stylus design looks good and feels good as well. It’s smooth to the touch and feels light and good to hold. And lastly, it’s cheaper than the other Apple Pencil styluses in the range.

As much it has some great perks, there are some things to note. First, no wireless charging nor wireless pairing. Yes, it does magnetically attach to the iPad but it does not charge nor does it pair with the iPad unless you connect the USB-C cable. And secondly, there’s no pressure sensitivity, meaning you can’t draw lines thicker or thinner depending on the pressure applied.

Overall, if want a cheaper Apple Pencil, or you’re looking for an alternative, then the Apple Pencil USB-C is one of the best to pick.

The Top Five Gaming Mice

1 – SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless

★★★★★

Pros

  • Excellent performance
  • Premium build quality
  • Excellent battery life

Cons

  • Expensive

Looking for a top-tier wireless gaming mouse that’s built for MMO titles? The SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless might just be your new best friend. This isn’t your bulky MMO mouse – oh no! SteelSeries decided to go the lightweight route, and at just 89g, this thing practically floats across your desk. Think of it as the featherweight champion of click-fests.

They achieved this feathery feel with a clever perforated design (think stylish holes!) and a super-thin PCB (the circuit board the powers the mouse). It’s all about speed and agility, letting you zip around the screen like a digital ninja.

And while it’s perfect for MMO button-mashing, its design is so versatile, it works great for other games too, and fits comfortably in a variety of hand sizes. But the best feature? Customization!

The SteelSeries app lets you tweak everything. From polling rates (how frequent the data from your clicks are sent to the PC) and DPI (measures how sensitive the mouse is) to angle snapping, acceleration, and deceleration. You are in control. Basically, you can mold this mouse to fit your gaming style perfectly.

It’s a pricey gaming mouse so you may need to save up for it. But overall, the SteelSeries Aerox 9 is an excellent gaming mouse. It’s lightweight, well-designed, and lets you customize it. So, if you’re ready embrace the lightweight revolution, the Aerox 9 is definitely worth a look.

2 – HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Core Wireless

★★★★☆

Pros

  • Fast & incredibly lightweight
  • Bluetooth & 2.4Ghz wireless
  • Ambidextrous design
  • RGB lighting around scroll wheel
  • More affordable than the competition

Cons

  • Heavy gaming mouse
  • AA battery required
  • Not a lot of side support for your fingers

The HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Core is a powerful performing wireless gaming mouse. It’s packing a HyperX Custom Core Sensor that can handle up to 12,000 DPI and a 1,000Hz polling rate – that’s more than enough sensitivity for even the most hardcore gamers.

Whether you’re blasting enemies in Call of Duty or clicking your way through an MMO, this wireless gaming mouse delivers flawless tracking and pinpoint accuracy.

But wait, there’s more! The battery life is insane. The HyperX lasts up to 100 hours on a single battery. This thing will last you almost a week without you needing to swap it.

Seriously, I’m impressed. Sure, rechargeable would be nice, but with this kind of longevity, who’s complaining? Even with the customizable RGB lights blazing, the battery life is still top-notch compared to other wireless mice in its price range.

In the end, the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Core is both awesome and affordable. The lightweight, good responsive, and packed with other features, it’s perfect gaming mouse for anyone who wants to level up their game without emptying their wallet.

3 – Razer DeathAdder V3 Hyperspeed

★★★★☆

Pros

  • Excellent & smooth yet grippy finish
  • Great tracking on most surfaces
  • Affordable
  • Comfortable & supportive form
  • Good for different grip styles & hand sizes

Cons

  • Heavy gaming mouse
  • AA battery required
  • Not a lot of side support for your fingers

The Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed is packing some serious heat: a luxurious yet grippy finish, lightning-fast tracking, a palm rest that’s comfortable for your hand, and it’s wireless.

And the best part? It’s really affordable. It’s like Razer took the best parts of the DeathAdder V3 and the Viper V2 Pro and mashed them together into one awesome gaming mouse.

The only catch is that, you’ll need to keep those AA batteries handy. But hey, small price to pay for gaming greatness, right? Overall, the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed is a great gaming mouse. Just need to stock up on rechargeable batteries and you’re set.

4 – Turtle Beach Burst II Air

★★★★☆

Pros

  • Super-light yet full-size
  • Effortless gliding
  • Multiple connectivity options

Cons

  • Software not the best
  • Not light on price

The Turtle Beach Burst 2 Air is like a ninja – super light, but surprisingly full-sized! It glides smoother than a figure skater on fresh ice and has clicks so satisfying, you’ll want to click all day. Plus, it’s a connectivity chameleon, offering more than one way to connect.

However, the Burst 2 Air comes with it’s not-so-good perks. One of then is the software which, while offering lots of tweaks, requires a bit of a learning curve to endure. And the price is a little steep but the others are just minor nuisances that are easily forgotten.

The bottom line? The Burst 2 Air might not be the top choice for hardcore esports pros gamers, and it’s not exactly affordable priced. But for everyone else? It’s definitely a solid contender.

5 – Turtle Beach Kone II Air Wireless

★★★★★

Pros

  • Good for large hands
  • Useful Easy-Shift button
  • Satisfying buttons

Cons

  • Heavy & too large for many

The Turtle Beach Kone II Air is a massive wireless gaming mouse, weighing at 110g.   packed with handy features, such as RGB lighting, multiple ways to connect and a nifty Easy-Shift button for quick access to extra commands. Think of it as the Hummer of gaming mice – lots of features, but definitely not compact.

However, its size, shape, and weight mean it’s not going to be a perfect fit for everyone. If you have dainty digits or demand the absolute best performance, you might want to look elsewhere.

Overall, the Turtle Beach Kone 2 Air is a functional gaming mouse good features but it’s more for those who like a substantial feel in their hand.

Final Say

That ends another great blog on the best gaming mice. It’s a lot but once you found your ideal gaming mouse, you’ll thank me for it. If you like my choice of gaming mice, then feel free to share or express yourself at the comments section. Finally, make sure to click on the blue buttons next to your chosen gaming mouse to view more of it or to buy it if you so desire 😀
