Great Affordable Gaming Laptops – Worth it?

Look, I’ve been around the block with hardware for years, and the “budget vs. flagship” debate has changed a lot. It used to be that buying a cheap gaming laptop meant buying a ticking time bomb of plastic hinges and thermal throttling. But in 2026, the gap has closed significantly. Here’s the honest breakdown of why saving your cash is a genius move—and why it might also be a massive headache.

1. Why You Should Save Your Money

The biggest reason to go “budget” is simple: The Silicon Gap is Shrinking. In the old days, a budget GPU was a joke. Now, with tech like ‘DLSS 4’ and ‘Frame Gen’ on the RTX 50-series (or even the older 40-series), an entry-level card can push 80+ FPS in titles that would have melted a laptop five years ago. You’re paying for the exact same frames as the guy with a US$3,000 Razer Blade, just without the aluminum chassis and fancy lights.

Also, budget laptops are surprisingly easier to live with long-term. Expensive flagships often solder everything—RAM, SSDs, even the Wi-Fi card—to make the device thinner. Most “cheap” laptops like the Acer Nitro or MSI Katana are chunky for a reason: they have standard slots. If you want more RAM in two years, you just pop the bottom off and clip then in. You can’t do that with a MacBook Pro though.

2. Why You’ll Probably Regret It

Now, for the “confidence” part: I’ll tell you exactly where they cut the corners, and it’s usually the screen. Manufacturers know you read the spec sheet for “RTX GPU” and “i7 CPU,” so they hide the fact that they’re using a display with the color accuracy of a wet napkin. If you plan on doing any photo editing or even just want your games to look vibrant, a budget screen will look dim and washed out compared to a high-end OLED.

The other deal-breaker is build quality. A budget laptop feels like a toy because it’s made of durable plastic. Over time, those hinges might start to creak, the trackpad might lose its “click,” and the keyboard deck will flex when you’re typing. Plus, the batteries are almost always smaller. While a premium Zephyrus might give you 8–10 hours of office work, a budget rig will usually start hunting for power after 4 hours. Now then, let’s check out some of the best gaming laptops you can get now at a budget price.

Great Affordable Gaming Laptops To Start Your 2026

1. Acer Nitro V16 (2024)

Most Affordable 16-inch Gaming Laptop

★★★★☆ 4.0 out of 5

SPECS – Acer Nitro V16 (ANV16-42-R4QR)

  • DISPLAY: 16-inch, WUXGA, IPS, 165Hz, 1920 x 1200 pixels
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 / Intel Core i7
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050
  • MEMORY: 16GB / 32GB RAM
  • STORAGE: 512GB / 1TB PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ M.2 SSD
  • BATTERY: 76Whrs, supports up to 135W AC Adapter
  • OS: Windows 11 Home
  • PORTS:  1x HDMI; Wi-Fi 6; Bluetooth 5.2; 3x USB type-A; 2x USB type-C; 1x Headphone microphone jack

PROS

  • Affordable price
  • Comes with various input ports
  • Large screen
  • Fast performance

CONS

  • Plastic chassis build
  • Poor webcam
  • Poor audio speakers
  • Cooling fans do get loud when pushed

The Acer Nitro V16 (2024) is a bit of a mixed bag, making it both an impressive budget hero and a total pain. On the best side of things, it’s still one of the most affordable ways to get a 16-inch screen with a decent refresh rate, and the battery life is surprisingly solid for a gaming rig—you can actually get through a decent chunk of the day without hunting for a power source. Plus, the 16:10 display gives you that extra vertical room that’s great for both gaming and getting some actual work done.

However, it earns its worst title because of some pretty frustrating corners Acer cut to keep that price low. The build material is made of plastic. The audio speakers are not that great. And hears the big one, the GPU is often power-throttled, meaning it’s not hitting the full performance speeds you might expect from its rivals. It also tends to get pretty loud and hot when you’re really pushing it. So while it’s a steal for the price, you’re definitely reminded of why it was so cheap every time those fans start revving like a jet engine.

2. ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2023)

Best Affordable 16-inch Gaming Laptop

★★★★☆ 4.0 out of 5

SPECS – ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (FA617NS)

  • DISPLAY: 16-inch, WUXGA, IPS, 165Hz, 1920 x 1200 pixels
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 7735HS
  • GPU: AMD Radeon™ RX 7600S
  • MEMORY: 16GB DDR5
  • STORAGE: 512GB PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ M.2 SSD
  • BATTERY: 90WHrs, supports up to 240W AC adapter
  • OS: Windows 11 Home
  • PORTS: 1x 3.5mm Audio Jack; 1x HDMI 2.1; 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A; 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C; 1x Type-C USB 4; 1x RJ45 LAN port
  • OTHER: Backlit keyboard; 720p HD camera; Dolby Atmos; 2-speaker system; AI noise-cancelling; Wi-Fi 6; Bluetooth 5.3; weighs 2.2 kg (4.85 lbs.)

PROS

  • Impressive battery life
  • Solid quality build
  • Impressive display
  • Impressive & quiet thermals
  • Easy upgrade options

CONS

  • Awkward port layout
  • Full AMD hardware, no NVIDIA
  • Driver & software issues
  • Poor webcam
  • Attracts fingerprints

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2023) is a total “hero or zero” device. On the plus side, it’s basically the marathon runner of the gaming world; because it uses an all-AMD setup (the “Advantage Edition”). The battery life is absolutely insane for a gaming laptop—you can actually get through a full day of classes or light work without carrying that heavy charging brick. It also feels built like a tank, so you don’t have to worry much about it when it falls on the ground. And the 16:10 screen gives you that extra bit of vertical space that makes scrolling through Discord or documents way nicer.

However, what makes this gaming laptop not so good is the all-AMD tech can be a bit finicky. Even in 2026, the “Smart Access Graphics” can still be buggy, occasionally giving you black screens or weird stuttering until you spend an afternoon wrestling with drivers. Plus, while it’s tough, the plastic chassis is a total fingerprint magnet that looks greasy five minutes after you clean it. And since it lacks an NVIDIA card, you miss out on DLSS, which means it struggles more with the latest AAA titles than its competitors do. Overall, it’s a fantastic “work-hard-play-medium” machine, but if you want a seamless, “it just works” experience, it might drive you a little crazy.

3. HP Victus 15 (2022)

Best Affordable 15-inch Gaming Laptop

★★★★☆ 4.0 out of 5

SPECS – Victus Gaming Laptop (B84F5EA)

  • DISPLAY: 15.6-inch, Full HD IPS, 144Hz (1920 x 1080)
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-12700H
  • GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050Ti
  • MEMORY: 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • STORAGE: 1TB PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ M.2 SSD
  • BATTERY: 70Wh,
  • OS: Windows 11 Home
  • PORTS: 1x USB Type-C, 2x USB Type-A, 1x audio combo jack, 1x Ethernet Port, 1x HDMI 2.1
  • OTHERS: Wi-Fi 6E; Bluetooth 5.2; 720p webcam; weighs 2.23 kg (4.96 lbs.), backlit keyboard

PROS

  • Professional looking design
  • Solid 1080p gaming
  • Good heat management
  • Snappy keyboard & includes Numpad

CONS

  • Dim display
  • Short battery life
  • Plastic build material
  • Fingerprint & dust magnet

The HP Victus 15 (2022) is such a classic “budget king” that’s still making waves in 2026, but it definitely comes with some baggage. On the “best” side, it’s arguably the most affordable way to get a laptop that doesn’t scream “I’m a gamer” in a meeting; the design is super clean and professional, and for the price, the 144Hz screen and 12th Gen Intel guts still hold up surprisingly well for 1080p gaming and office work. It’s the kind of laptop you can comfortably bring to a library without everyone looking at you, and the thermal performance is actually decent, so it won’t feel like you’re typing on a stovetop while you’re gaming.

However, it hits the “worst” list for some pretty legendary build-quality quirks. The screen wobble is real—if you like typing or have a shaky desk, that display is going to be dancing the entire time. The battery life is also pretty rough, barely scraping past 4 hours on a good day, so you’re basically tethered to a wall outlet. Plus, that “office-friendly” chassis is a total fingerprint magnet, and by 2026 standards, the 250-nit screen feels a bit dim if you’re anywhere near a window. It’s the ultimate “you get what you pay for” machine: great for your wallet, but you’ll definitely be making some compromises on the sturdiness.

4. MSI Katana A15 AI (2024)

Best All-round Affordable Gaming Laptop

★★★★⯪ 4.5 out of 5

SPECS – Katana A15 AI (B8VG-423US)

  • DISPLAY: 15.6-inch, Full HD IPS, 144Hz (1920 x 1080)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS
  • GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070
  • MEMORY: 16GB DDR5
  • STORAGE: 1TB PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ M.2 SSD
  • BATTERY: 3-cell 53.5Whr Li-Polymer, supports up to 200W AC Adaptor
  • OS: Windows 11 Home
  • PORTS: 2x USB 3.2 Gen1; 1x USB 2.0; 1x USB 3.2 Gen1; HDMI v 2.1; 1x audio combo
  • OTHERS: Wi-Fi 6E; Bluetooth 5.3; 720p webcam; weighs 2.23 kg (4.96 lbs.)

PROS

  • Impressive value for performance
  • Easy to upgrade
  • Impressive gaming specs
  • Keyboard is surprisingly snappy
  • Smart AI features

CONS

  • Lackluster dim display
  • Short battery life
  • Cheap build material
  • Gets loud and hot

The MSI Katana A15 AI (2024) is a total “rollercoaster” of a laptop to own in 2026. On its best days, it’s a budget-friendly beast that punches way above its weight class; it was one of the first affordable rigs to really lean into AI-tuned performance with that Ryzen 8000-series chip, and when you flip on the MUX switch, the frame rates in 1080p are genuinely impressive for the price. It’s also surprisingly easy to upgrade—it’s got two RAM and two SSD slots, which is a lifesaver in 2026 since modern games are basically eating storage for breakfast.

On the flip side, it earns its spot on the “worst” list the second you step away from the power outlet. The battery life is… well, it’s pretty much non-existent, often struggling to even hit the four-hour mark for basic web browsing. Then there’s the build quality: it’s very “plastic-forward,” and the screen can feel a bit dim and washed out if you’re used to the more vibrant panels on higher-end machines. It also has a bit of a reputation for being a “jet engine” under load, as the fans have to work overtime to keep those high-TGP components from melting the chassis. It’s the ultimate trade-off—you’re getting top-tier power on a budget, but you’re definitely paying for it in plastic, noise, and a permanent tether to the wall.

Lastly and Recommendations

In the end, picking from the current crop of great affordable gaming laptops is less about finding “the best” and more about choosing which compromise you can live with. Let’s do a quick summary: If you want one with the best cutting-edge value, get the MSI Katana A15 AI. If you want one that offers better battery life, durability and a decent cooling system, get the ASUS TUF Gaming A16. For an affordable gaming laptop with a larger screen, get the Acer Nitro V16, and if you want a bargain gaming machine that draws less attention, get the HP Victus 15.

The bottom line? You don’t need a expensive rig to top the leaderboards. These machines have already proven they can handle the heat—literally and figuratively. ASUS Zenbook Duo (UX8406CA) Review: Future of Productivity

ASUS Zenbook Duo

“The 2026 Zenbook Duo is the one that finally makes the two-screen setup feel totally normal and easy to use”

Multitasking is a pain. Whether you wanna admit it or not, however we look at it, we just can’t do it nor can we do it perfectly. You probably won’t believe me when I tell you this, but with the Zenbook Duo from ASUS, makes multitasking possible. It’s the most innovative powerhouse laptop which makes multitasking a breeze. It’s an incredibly clever piece of machinery that comes with two touchscreen displays, a whole lot of power, and other amazing features. But is it worth the buy? Let’s check out the review and find out.

Overview

Imagine having a full dual-monitor setup that actually fits in your backpack—that’s basically the ASUS Zenbook Duo (2026) in a nutshell. It’s a total powerhouse featuring two gorgeous 14-inch 3K Lumina Pro OLED touchscreens that now hit a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, making everything from scrolling to gaming look incredible.

Under the hood, it’s rocking the latest Intel Core Ultra X9 “Panther Lake” chip and a massive 75Wh battery, which is basically the biggest battery you can legally take on a plane. The real “magic” is how versatile it is: you can use it as a standard laptop with the magnetic keyboard snapped on, or pop out the built-in kickstand to stack the screens vertically for an epic mobile workstation. Plus, with its intuitive design and a redesigned hinge that makes the gap between screens almost disappear, it feels less like a gadget and more like a refined, professional tool.

If that doesn’t convince you to get one, let’s find out more on what this amazing laptop can do.

Specs

  • DISPLAY: Dual 14-inch, 3K, 120Hz, Lumina OLED (1920 x 1200) Touch
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 Processor 285H, Intel® AI Boost NPU
  • GPU: Intel® Arc™ Graphics (integrated)
  • MEMORY: 16GB / 32GB LPDDR5X RAM
  • STORAGE: 1TB / 2TB SSD
  • BATTERY: 75WHrs, supports 65W AC Ultra Mini Adapter
  • OS: Windows 11 Home
  • PORTS:  1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 2x Thunderbolt™ 4, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack
  • OTHER: 1080p webcam, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, weighs 1.65 kg (3.64 lbs.)

What’s to Like

1. Double the Screen, Zero the Compromise

You’re getting two gorgeous 14-inch 3K OLED displays that both now run at a smooth 144Hz. What makes this year’s model special is the “hideaway” hinge; the gap between the screens has been shaved down to just 8mm, so when you stack them vertically, it feels like one giant, continuous 20-inch workspace. It’s like carrying a dual-monitor office setup in a bag designed for a 13-inch ultra book.

2. The “Panther Lake” Performance Leap

Under the hood, the Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 chip is a game-changer. It’s not just about speed—though it’s incredibly fast—it’s the new Arc B390 graphics. You’re getting integrated graphics that can actually keep up with a dedicated RTX 4050, meaning you can edit 4K video or play AAA games on your lunch break without the laptop turning into a space heater

3. A Battery That Actually Keeps Up

Usually, dual screens mean a dead battery by noon, but ASUS managed to cram a 75Wh battery in it—the literal legal limit for airplanes. Combined with the efficiency of the new Intel chips, you can actually get through a full 10-hour workday using both screens, or stretch it to a mind-blowing 32 hours if you’re just using one.

4. The Premium Build

The chassis is made of this unique high-tech ceramic-aluminum hybrid. It’s tougher than standard aluminum, lighter, and completely resists those annoying fingerprints. Plus, the integrated kickstand is rock-solid this year, so you can prop the screens up in “Waterfall mode” on a tiny airplane tray table or a crowded coffee shop counter without it wobbling.

5. The Most Refined Setup on the Market

Everything about the ergonomics feels “solved.” The MagLatch keyboard snaps into place perfectly with magnetic pogo pins, charging itself while you type. When you want to go full workstation, you just pop the keyboard off and use it via Bluetooth. It’s the first time a dual-screen laptop has felt like a finished, polished tool rather than a cool science experiment.

What’s Not to Like

While the ASUS Zenbook Duo (2026) is a total marvel, it’s definitely not the right fit for everyone. If you’re a “minimalist” traveler or someone who just wants a laptop to work flawlessly without a second thought, there are some very real trade-offs to consider before dropping that much cash.

1. The “Chunky” Reality

Even with the new refinements, there’s no getting around the fact that this is a thick device. At nearly 23mm thick and weighing 1.65 kg (3.64 lbs.), it feels significantly bulkier in your bag compared to a svelte MacBook Air or an HP Spectre. If you spend most of your time in “standard laptop mode” with the keyboard snapped on, you’re essentially carrying around a heavy, thick laptop while only using half of what you paid for.

2. Ergonomic Quirks

The detachable keyboard is a cool party trick, but it has its downsides. Because it’s so thin, it lacks the deep travel and “clicky” stability of a traditional high-end keyboard. Plus, some users find the flat profile a bit straining for long typing sessions, and there have been occasional reports of the Bluetooth connection glitching for a split second when you move it away from the screens.

3. The “Dongle Life” Paradox

It’s great that it has an HDMI port, but here’s the kicker: when you have the screens unfolded horizontally in “Waterfall mode,” the HDMI and one of the USB-C ports are actually on the bottom edge facing the desk, making them almost impossible to use without some creative propping up. It’s a bit of a design “oops” for a device marketed at power users.

4. Disappointment Webcam

For a premium 2026 flagship, the 1080p webcam is just… okay. In a world where the HP Spectre has a crystal-clear 9MP sensor and the MacBook has Center Stage, the ASUS camera can look a bit blotchy and soft, especially if your home office lighting isn’t perfect.

5. The Price of Innovation

Let’s be honest—you’re paying a massive “dual-screen tax.” With the 2026 model pushing toward the $2,300 mark, you could easily buy a top-tier traditional laptop plus a high-end external 4K monitor and still have money left over. If you don’t actually find yourself using that second screen every single day, it’s a lot of extra money for a feature that might just end up being a gimmick for your specific workflow.

Alternatives – ASUS Zenbook Duo VS

1. Lenovo Yoga Book 9i

★★★★☆ 4.0 out of 5

If you’re torn between these two, it really comes down to whether you want a “transformer” workstation or a refined powerhouse. The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is the better pick if you prioritize portability and aesthetics; it’s thinner, lighter, and that rotating soundbar hinge produces audio that honestly puts the Zenbook to shame. It feels like a piece of tech art, and the way the screens can fold 360 degrees into a tablet is way more flexible.

On the flip side, it’s a “worse” alternative if you hate setup friction. While the ASUS Zenbook Duo (2026) has a sturdy kickstand built right into the chassis and a keyboard with an actual integrated trackpad, the Yoga Book makes you carry a separate magnetic folio stand and a Bluetooth mouse to get the same level of productivity. Plus, the ASUS packs a much better port selection—including HDMI and USB-A—so you aren’t constantly reaching for a dongle like you would with the Lenovo’s “Thunderbolt-only” lifestyle.

2. HP Spectre x360 14 (2024)

★★★★⯪ 4.5 out of 5

If you’re debating between these two, you’re essentially choosing between a refined masterpiece and a multitasking beast. The HP Spectre x360 14 (2024) is the better choice if you value a seamless, high-quality “daily driver” experience; it’s notably lighter, feels incredibly premium, and features a 9MP webcam that honestly puts almost every other laptop to shame. Its keyboard and haptic trackpad are also best-in-class, offering a tactile stability you just can’t get with a detachable setup.

However, it’s a “worse” alternative if you frequently find yourself wishing for more screen space. The ASUS Zenbook Duo (2026) offers a massive productivity jump with its dual 144Hz OLED displays and a built-in kickstand that lets you stack screens vertically. Plus, while the Spectre is sleek, the ASUS packs a much newer, more powerful processor and a massive 99Wh battery to handle the extra power demands—not to mention a built-in HDMI port so you can finally leave the dongles at home.

3. Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360

★★★★☆ 4.2 out of 5

If you’re choosing between these two, you’re essentially deciding whether you want a sleek, artist-friendly companion or a dual-screen multitasking beast. The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is the better alternative if you’re a creative who values a “true” 2-in-1 experience; that 360-degree hinge and the included S Pen make it feel like a massive, premium sketchbook that’s incredibly thin and light for a 16-inch device. It also integrates beautifully with Galaxy phones and tablets, which is a huge perk if you’re already in that ecosystem.

On the flip side, it’s a “worse” pick if you’re a power user who thrives on screen real estate. The ASUS Zenbook Duo (2026) gives you two 144Hz OLED displays to work with, a more powerful Intel “Panther Lake” processor, and a monster 99Wh battery that dwarfs the Samsung’s 76Wh cell. While the Samsung is a refined, elegant ultrabook, the ASUS is basically a portable multi-monitor workstation that makes the single-screen life feel a bit cramped.

4. Apple MacBook Air 15 (M4)

★★★★⯪ 4.5 out of 5

Choosing between these two is really a battle of “reliable simplicity” versus “infinite screen space.” The MacBook Air 15 (M4) is the better choice if you just want a laptop that stays out of your way; it’s dead silent thanks to its fanless design, and the M4 chip efficiency means you can basically forget your charger for an entire weekend. It’s significantly thinner and lighter than the ASUS, making it the ultimate “throw in your bag and go” machine, and the 12MP Center Stage webcam is miles ahead for video calls.

However, it’s a “worse” alternative if you’re a power multitasker or a display snob. The ASUS Zenbook Duo (2026) gives you two gorgeous 144Hz OLED touchscreens while the MacBook is still stuck at a basic 60Hz. Plus, the ASUS actually respects your peripherals with a built-in HDMI port and USB-A, whereas the MacBook pretty much forces you into the “dongle life” with its two-port limitation.

The ASUS Zenbook Duo (2006): The Verdict

If you’ve been unsure about dual-screen laptops, the 2026 Zenbook Duo is the one that finally makes the two-screen setup feel totally normal and easy to use. It really is impressive at how much ASUS cleaned things up this time. They managed to get rid of that annoying gap between the screens, and the new ceramic-aluminum finish feels great and stays way cleaner than the old plastic ones.

The best part, though, is how fast it is. The new chip inside is a beast—in fact, you can actually play heavy AAA PC games or edit 4K video without it breaking a sweat. Plus, the battery finally lasts all day, so you don’t have to hunt for a wall outlet every three hours. Sure, it’s still a little thick when you fold it up, and it’ll definitely put a dent in your wallet, but if you’re tired of constantly switching tabs on a tiny screen, this thing is a total lifesaver. It definitely is a capable and refined multitasker on the market write now.

Gorgeous Screens with Less Glare

If you go for the Pro or Ultra models, you’re getting a Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen. These screens are smart—with an adjustable refresh rates to keep the display looking smooth (from 30Hz to 120Hz) based on whether you’re playing a game or just reading an article. Samsung also included ‘Gorilla Glass’ that cuts down reflections by a massive 75%. This means you won’t be staring at your own reflection while trying to work in a bright room. The standard model uses a solid IPS LCD screen, which is great for everyday tasks but lacks the deep blacks of the AMOLED versions.

Serious Power Under the Hood

The Pro and Ultra models are using Intel’s latest “18A” processors. In plain English? The chips are much more efficient, which helps the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 laptop run faster without getting as hot. For gamers & content creators, the Ultra model will include Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 graphics cards, making it a beast for video editing or gaming. For everyday users, the Intel Arc graphics will be included in other models with a guaranteed 70% faster performance boost than last year’s versions. In terms of storage, most models come with plenty of space (up to 2TB) and even have an extra slot if you want to add more storage later.

Battery Life That Actually Lasts

No one likes hunting for a power outlet every two hours. The Pro and Ultra models now promise up to 30 hours of video playback on a single charge. That’s five hours more than last year’s models. If you do run low, the Ultra model supports super-fast charging, getting you to 63% battery in just 30 minutes.

Slim Designs and Better Cooling

Samsung redesigned the insides to make sure these laptops don’t sound like a jet engine taking off. They used a new “vapor chamber” cooling system and bigger fans to move more air quietly. The Pro is the featherweight of the bunch, with the 14-inch version weighing just 1.24kg and measuring a tiny 11.6mm thick. Even the beefy Ultra model stays under 2kg, so it won’t break your back in a backpack.

Sound and Connections

In terms of other features the Ultra features a 6-speaker system with “force-cancelling” woofers. This basically means you get great bass without the laptop vibrating on your desk. And with input ports, you’ll get high-speed Thunderbolt 4 ports on the Pro and Ultra, while the standard model keeps an Ethernet port for those who prefer a wired internet connection.

When Can You Get One?

The Galaxy Book6 series is launching in select markets later this month. We’re still waiting on the official price tags, but expect more info to drop very soon. If you’re looking for a work-specific “Enterprise Edition,” those should start appearing around April. Be sure to check out the review in the near future of the Samsung Galaxy Book6 laptops. Asus ProArt P16 (2025) Review: High Priced But Amazing

asus proart p16 2025 review

Asus ProArt P16 (2025)

The latest notebook designed to amplify your creativity

“if your work demands the very best performance, the ProArt P16 will definitely pay for itself by speeding up your workflow. It truly cements its spot as a top-notch tool for turning ideas into reality”

Overview

The world of powerful laptops for aspiring and pro creators turned upside down when Asus released the new ProArt P16 (2025). This isn’t just some small upgrade; it’s a massive deal. As this laptop is built to go head-to-head with the fanciest, most powerful desktop workstations (let’s not forget other powerful laptops!) out there, and it’s even giving Apple’s high-end Pro line some real competition.

Asus completely gets that today’s creative artists, content creators and video editors, need more than just a great graphics card. They need perfect color accuracy, tailored tools, and the freedom to do what they do well easily while traveling or at home. The 2025 model, with the latest AMD Ryzen AI chips and NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series graphics, is definitely gunning to be the best mobile studio you can buy right now.

Specs

  • DISPLAY: 16-inch, 4K Lumina OLED touchscreen 60Hz (3840 x 2400), stylus support
  • PROCESSOR: AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 CPU; AMD XDNA™ NPU up to 50TOPS NPU
  • GRAPHICS: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070/5060/5070 (8GB GDDR7) GPU
  • MEMORY: 32GB/64GB LPDDR5X RAM
  • STORAGE: 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD
  • OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
  • I/O PORTS: 1x USB-C (4.0 Gen 3); 1x USB-C (3.2 Gen 2); 2x USB-A; 1x HDMI 2.1; 1x 3.5mm audio jack; 1x SD card reader
  • OTHER: 1.85 kg (4.08 lbs.); Wi-Fi 7(802.11be) + Bluetooth® 5.4; 1080p webcam; Backlit keyboard

The Great Features

1. Impressive Performance

The ProArt P16 delivers the most impressive performance thanks to one of the fastest processors, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 CPU, and one of the fastest graphics card bundle, which is the one of the following GeForce RTX (4070/5060/5070) GPU. Let’s not forget the 32GB (or 64GB) of memory (RAM), and 2-terabytes solid state drive (SSD) for storage of apps, and media. The top-range ProArt P16 model includes the same AMD chip, but with a better RTX 5090 GPU, 64GB of memory, and up to 4-terabytes of SSD storage. That’s insane.

2. Sleek Design

This laptop doesn’t just work well, it looks awesome while doing it! It’s totally matte black everywhere—inside and out—giving it this super sleek, low-key vibe. The hinge is really clever; they call it a “stealth hinge” because it just disappears into the back. It looks totally modern, with only a tiny Asus logo in the corner as the only real flash. Plus, it doesn’t attract smudges and fingerprints which is an excellent bonus.

When you open it up, the keyboard feels great and the backlighting is fantastic. We do wish the arrow keys were bigger, though—they’re just those tiny half-size ones. A numeric keypad would’ve been handy too, but let’s be fair, adding that would have made the whole thing feel way too cramped.

3. Impressive OLED display

With the ProArt P16 you’re getting a stunning 16-inch OLED touchscreen that comes with an outstanding 3840 x 2400 screen resolution. Let’s not forget the screen supports stylus inputs as well. The Asus ‘Lumina’ display panel is gorgeous with its perfect detailed, accurate colors, and 1600 nits of brightness. If you can find us a better OLED display, let me know cos we love how stunning this one looks.

4. Lightweight & Portable & Durable

Get yourself a 16-inch backpack (or use your existing one) cos Asus has managed to keep the weight of the laptop down to 1.85 kgs (4.08 lbs.), which is not that heavy. And it has military-grade durability rating, so yeah, it’s tough, and can take the accidental knock off your table or whatever life throws at it.

5. Includes Asus ‘DialPad’ Feature

The touchpad here is big—like, seriously spacious, which is great for tracking, even if it feels a little too large sometimes. But the real star is that little dial sitting in the top-left corner. That’s the ASUS DialPad, and it’s built right into it.

It’s a total game-changer for creative apps. You just spin the dial to make quick tweaks and adjustments in programs like photo and video editors. For instance, in CapCut (which already comes installed!), you can zoom in and out or step through your video clip frame-by-frame super fast. It also plays nicely with all the Adobe apps.

The best part? You can easily customize what the dial does in the ProArt Creator Hub settings. And get this: even when you’re not in an app, it lets you quickly adjust your system volume and screen brightness without lifting your hand off the pad. Sweet!

Now, about the software that comes with it. You get a bunch of cool stuff like CapCut, Nvidia Studio Suite, plus the Asus file manager (StoryCube) and a creative assistant (MuseTree). Oh, and since it’s a Copilot+ PC, you also get access to all those new Microsoft AI tools. I gave all of these a test run, and they’re definitely helpful additions—they make things easier, even if they aren’t totally mind-blowing.

6. Excellent Heat Management

When it comes to the ProArt P16’s cooling sytem, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Asus loaded it up with a pretty serious three-fan system and lots of vents to handle the power. When you’re just kicking back and doing some light browsing or writing, it’s super quiet and cool—you can barely hear the “Whisper Mode” running. But, when you fire up those heavy-duty tasks like 3D rendering or some serious gaming, those powerful components really heat up.

The fans definitely have to kick into high gear to keep up, and they get pretty loud—like, definitely noticeable loud. It does the job to keep the chips from frying (with the CPU often hitting the 80-95°C range under max load), but don’t expect silent operation when you’re pushing it hard.

The Deal Breakers

1. Top-range Way Overpriced

Basically, the P16 is a seriously premium machine, and the price reflects that high-end creator status. The configurations start around $1,999 to $2,200 for the entry-level models, which typically include the AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor, 32GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070 GPU. However, once you start beefing it up with more powerful graphics like the RTX 5070 or the top-tier RTX 5090, and double the RAM to 64GB, the price quickly jumps into the $2,700 to $4,000 range and beyond.

This means the ProArt P16 sits squarely in the most expensive bracket, putting it in direct competition with rivals like the fully-loaded Razer Blade 16 and the Apple MacBook Pro. While it offers incredible performance and a gorgeous 4K OLED screen for that price, many reviewers agree that it’s definitely an expensive laptop, and you really need to be a dedicated creator to justify the cost over a slightly more affordable (but less specialized) option.

2. Cooling Fans Get Loud on Heavy Use

When you’re doing light tasks, like just browsing or editing documents, the laptop is actually quite quiet, especially in “Whisper Mode” where noise levels stay around 35 dBA. That’s great. However, the moment you launch those intensive creative applications—like rendering a complex 3D scene, compiling a massive project, or doing some high-end gaming—the cooling fans switch into a much more aggressive profile to handle the heat.

In these demanding scenarios, the fan noise can jump to over 50 dBA and sometimes even higher in Full Performance mode. In short, the cooling fan system does its job keeping the powerful CPU and GPU from overheating, but it trades that performance stability for a significant and often intrusive amount of noise.

3. Short battery life

While it packs a large 90Wh battery, you need to manage your expectations based on what you’re doing. Here’s the breakdown: If you’re just cruising the internet, working on documents, and doing low-power tasks, you can generally expect to see a solid 9 to 10 hours before it gives up. That’s a decent amount of time to be unplugged. For creative work and gaming, this is where it drops fast.

Once you engage that powerful NVIDIA GPU for heavy tasks like editing multiple 4K video streams or intense rendering, the battery life plummets. In real-world testing, people often find they get only 3 to 5 hours of dedicated creative work. So, while it can hang in there for a full day of light work, if you need that maximum creative power, you’ll definitely want to keep that laptop charger handy.

The Other Players: Meet the Alternatives

So, who else is playing in this super-creative-high-power league? If the P16 isn’t quite your jam, or you just want to check out the competition, you’ve got a few heavy hitters to look at:

1. Apple MacBook Pro (M4)

The Apple Laptop for Creators

★★★★⯪

If you’re not really feeling the ProArt P16, and like using MacBooks, then check out the Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (M4). It’s usually the better choice, especially if you’re a creative type. Why is it you ask? The battery life is better. Yep. You can literally ditch the laptop charger because as the battery lasts longer than the ProArt P16. No more worrying about the short battery or having to find a power outlet at your nearest cafe. Plus, the whole M4 chip/macOS combo is just so smooth and optimized for stuff like Photoshop and Final Cut; it just works right away. You won’t have to tinker with drivers or settings much, and it stays super cool and quiet even when you’re pushing it hard. The only issue is that the MacBook Pro is more expensive than the ProArt P16, but hey if you can afford it then you’ll reap the benefits.

2. Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition, 2024)

Microsoft’s Own Creator Laptop

★★★★☆

If you’re not a full-time professional creator who needs every ounce of GPU power, the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition) is an awesome, super-friendly choice! It’s way lighter and more portable than the big Asus ProArt P16, making it perfect for carrying around all day.

More importantly, thanks to its super-efficient Snapdragon chip, the Surface offers absolutely legendary, all-day battery life—you can seriously leave the power brick at home. Plus, you get that premium, clean Microsoft design and a fantastic, snappy keyboard/haptic trackpad combo that just feels great for everyday work and chilling out.

3. Asus ROG Zephyrus G16

A More Faster Creator Laptop From Asus

★★★★⯪

If you’re leaning toward the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16, it’s a solid move, especially if you want a machine that’s more of an all-star performer. The ProArt P16 is seriously powerful, but the G16 is designed to be faster for everything you see. It packs a lightning-quick 240Hz screen and includes vital features like GSync and a MUX switch, which the ProArt lacks.

That basically means the Zephyrus G16 is engineered to give you smoother frame rates and peak GPU performance for gaming or anything that needs a super-responsive display, making it a better, faster pick for a fun mix of work and play.

4. Razer Blade 16

A Gaming Laptop Also For Creativity

★★★★⯪

If you’re deciding between the Razer Blade 16 and the ProArt P16, the Blade 16 really shines if you want that extra edge in performance and a more polished overall feel. For one, the Blade 16 is a champion for gaming, rocking a 240Hz QHD+ OLED display along with MUX and GSync support, which gives you super-smooth, tear-free visuals—something the ProArt’s 120Hz 4K screen is lacking.

Plus, the Blade 16 lets its GPU run at a higher power limit for better raw performance when you need it. On top of that, the Blade 16 just feels more premium and intentional; it has those little quality-of-life wins like a sturdier screen hinge, a better-designed power plug, and a superior per-key RGB keyboard lighting for maximum customization and flair. It’s simply built to perform and feel good while doing it.

5. Dell XPS 16

The All-Rounder Premium Laptop

★★★★☆

If you’re eyeing both the Dell XPS 16 and the Asus ProArt P16, you might find that the XPS 16 simply offers a more polished, premium experience that feels fantastic in your hands. A lot of people feel the Dell has a much superior and sturdier build quality that just oozes high-end design, right down to the super-smooth haptic touchpad and integrated, minimalist keyboard.

Beyond the sleek look, you might also find that the XPS 16 is a better partner for all-day use, as some folks have reported seriously impeccable battery life for non-heavy work, making it an excellent companion when you’re away from an outlet. It’s the laptop you choose when a reliable, beautifully constructed machine that looks and feels top-tier is your absolute top priority.

Final Verdict

So, is the ProArt P16 worth the mountain of cash? If you’re a professional designer, 3D artist, or video editor who absolutely needs desktop power but has to work on the go, then yes, it’s a no-brainer. This machine is built specifically for you. The combination of its raw processing power, the groundbreaking AI chip, and that stunning, color-accurate OLED screen makes it one of the most compelling portable workstations ever built.

It’s a big investment and pricey (especially the top range model), but if your work demands the very best performance, the ProArt P16 will definitely pay for itself by speeding up your workflow. It truly cements its spot as a top-notch tool for turning ideas into reality. Ready to upgrade your workflow? Stop thinking and seriously just grab this laptop—it’s the best tool your creativity can ask for.

HP EliteBook Ultra G1i Review: Excellent Yet Expensive Laptop

EliteBook Ultra G1i

HP EliteBook Ultra G1i

“This is a seriously impressive laptop. HP really nailed it with the design—it’s super thin, lightweight, and that Cool Blue color just makes it look incredibly slick”

Hey everyone! So, you know how everyone’s been talking about these new AI-powered “Copilot+” laptops? Well, I got my hands on one, the new HP EliteBook Ultra G1i. This isn’t just any business laptop, though. It’s HP’s top-of-the-line model, and it’s built to be super smart and super efficient. I spent some time putting it through its paces to see if it lives up to the hype and if it’s the right choice for anyone looking for a powerful, sleek new work machine. So, let’s dive into the full review of the EliteBook Ultra G1i from HP and see what this thing is all about.

Overview

So HP’s got a new business laptop, the EliteBook Ultra G1i. It’s their top Copilot+ model and it now runs on a super efficient Intel Core Ultra chip, so you get the full Windows experience. It also has great battery life and runs really smooth, thanks to the high resolution, high refresh rate OLED touch display.

Plus, it looks awesome with its Cool Blue color, and it comes with all the apps you need including HP’s own Wolf Security software for protection and malware detection. Let’s move on to see what’s under the hood of this great laptop.

Specs: HP EliteBook Ultra G1i

  • Display: 14-inch OLED 120Hz (2880 x 1800p) touchscreen
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ Ultra 7
  • GPU: Intel® Arc™ Graphics
  • Memory: 16GB / 32GB RAM
  • Storage: 256GB / 512GB / 1TB SSD
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
  • Ports: 3x USB-C; 1x USB-A 3.2; 1x headphone/microphone port
  • Other: Wi-Fi 7; Bluetooth 5.4; includes 9MP IR webcam; weighs 2.63 lbs. / 1.2 kg; backlit keyboard

What’s to Like

1. Impressive Design

So, when it comes to looks, the new Intel version of the EliteBook Ultra G1i is pretty much identical to the one HP released last year. It has that same slick, modern design and even comes in that really cool “atmospheric blue” color. They’ve given it rounded edges and kept the shiny HP logo on the front, which gives it a super minimalist and classy vibe.

You can really feel that premium feel when you look at the screen, too. It has a gorgeous 14-inch OLED display with super thin bezels that can even tilt almost completely flat. Plus, it’s got a nice high-resolution webcam for video calls and a little privacy shutter, which is a nice touch. It’s got all the little things you’d want in a modern work laptop, but with a sleek, simple style.

And as a bonus, this thing is seriously lightweight. At just 2.63 pounds, it’s a true ultraportable, so it’s super easy to carry around. It’s also handy in low-light areas and at night, thanks to the backlit keyboard which offers a decent typing experience. Overall, I like how stunning the design of the HP EliteBook. It’s not groundbreaking, but looks good enough to be used in a corporate environment, and portable so you can literally work anywhere.

2. Decent OLED Display

Let’s talk about the display. This EliteBook Ultra has a gorgeous 14-inch OLED touchscreen, with a high 120Hz refresh rate and an 1800p screen resolution. And while it’s not the brightest on the block, it’s still way better than a lot of other OLED screens out there. The colors really pop, and everything looks super vibrant with sharp and accurate details, just like you’d expect from a premium laptop.

The only downside is how glossy the screen is, so you’ll have to watch out for glare and reflections. As much as the display is concerned, I appreciate how good it looks and how everything works well.

3. Impressive Performance

Now when it comes to the performance of the HP EliteBook, it handles normal tasks impressively. With the high performance Intel chip and the high system memory I was really amazing at how it handles everyday tasks. Apps load up fast. Standby apps didn’t cause any lag or system slowdown. Even common tasks like surfing the web, opening emails and typing documents works well here.

Just so you know, this is not a laptop for hardcore gaming. As much as it comes with a discreet Intel Arc GPU its mainly for browser-based gaming, basic 3D modeling, video editing and content creation.

4. Good Battery Life

So here’s the deal with the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i‘s battery. While it gives you a fantastic 16 hours of battery life (which is great for a business laptop), it’s not the absolute longest-lasting one I’ve seen. But let’s be honest, who works for more than 16 hours straight? It’s more than enough for a full days work. Overall, I was impressed with its long battery life. There are other laptops out there that can achieve even more hours of battery life, but at least the HP EliteBook is among the top with this feature.

What’s Not to Like

Now before you scroll up and click on the ‘Buy Now’ button, here’s a few things I don’t like about this laptop, which you need to know.

Firstly, this is an expensive business laptop. The entry level EliteBook Ultra will start you at US$1599, and the top-model will costs you around US$3700. As much as it comes with great value, I think its way overpriced.

Another thing to consider are the few input ports which is not a big deal. There are: three USB-type C; one USB3.2 type-A; and the headphone or microphones jack. That’s not a lot of ports if you ask me, but purchase Port Hub and you have additional ports.

Final Verdict

Make no mistake. This is a seriously impressive laptop. HP really nailed it with the design—it’s super thin, lightweight, and that Cool Blue color just makes it look incredibly slick. The OLED screen is absolutely stunning, with vibrant colors that make everything from work to watching movies look amazing. The battery life is also more than enough to get you through a full workday without needing to charge.

However, it’s not perfect. It falls short because of the high cost, and its not as powerful with features like other business laptops. But, if you’re looking for a powerful machine that’s built for the future and you want something that looks and feels premium, the EliteBook Ultra G1i is a fantastic choice. This one is for corporate executives, and content creators that just find inspiration everywhere. It’s a true competitor and a sign of great things to come for Copilot+ PCs.

So, you’ve come this far. I commend you. Thank you. So what’s next? You can leave a comment below saying how awesome this review is, or you can click on the ‘Buy Now’ button above or HERE to find out more about this great laptop. That’s all from me. Stay safe. Until next time 😀

  • Includes touchscreen

CONS

  • Average performance
  • Dated design & HD display

If you’re looking for a Chromebook that’s easy on your budget, you might want to check out the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3 Chromebook

With performance, it’s not the most powerful Chromebook out there, but ChromeOS runs super smoothly on it. So, for all your everyday school work, from research or writing papers, to web surfing or sending emails, it’s not going to let you down.

And when you’re ready to relax after a long day of studying, you can use it to watch video streams of your favorite shows and movies. Just keep in mind that the screen is not that impressive, so it might not be the most immersive experience for an epic movie night.

One of the coolest things about this Chromebook, especially for the price, is its 2-in-1 design. That’s pretty rare! This means you can use it like a regular laptop, or you can flip it around and use it like a tablet. Talk about flexible! It’s super handy for students because you get the best of both worlds without needing to buy two separate devices.

And get this – the battery life is seriously impressive. When we tested it, it lasted 16 hours playing videos! So, you can pretty much guarantee it’ll get you through a whole school day (and then some!) without needing to hunt for an outlet.

Sounds like a pretty good all-rounder for student life, right? Try it. You’ll see what I mean.

2 – Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 (2022)

★★★★★

  • Misc.: Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics, 1080p webcam, Built-In Microphone, Backlit Keyboard

PROS

  • Great value for money
  • Good battery life
  • Good overall performance

CONS

  • No stylus pen included

Meet the Inspiron 14, the impressive and compact 2-in1 laptop tablet from Dell. One of our top-rated laptops and is perfect for students. Even though it has a slightly smaller 14-inch screen, it pretty much keeps all the fantastic features of the bigger 16-inch model.

We’re talking strong performance that can handle your workload, and it’s super versatile thanks to its touchscreen and a hinge that lets it flip all the way around – talk about flexibility! Plus, the price is really competitive for what you get.

Now, just like its 16-inch big brother, it doesn’t come with a stylus pen. However, that’s a minor detail when you look at everything else it offers!

I seriously loved testing the Inspiron 14 2-in-1. That 1080p webcam is a huge bonus for all those video calls and online classes, and it performs really well – you might even be able to squeeze in some light gaming!

And the battery life? Excellent! It also charges up super fast, which is a lifesaver when you’re rushing between classes. Honestly, I found it really hard not to recommend this laptop! Ready to upgrade your study setup? Try the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 laptop.

Why? Well, it’s affordable, which is a huge bonus when you’re on a budget. And even though its Intel processor isn’t the absolute newest, it’s still performs well, especially when you compare it to other laptops in the same price range. This means it’ll handle all your daily school tasks without any problems.

Since it runs Windows 11 as its operating system, you get access to all the familiar desktop programs, unlike Chromebooks that often gives you access to only basic versions of their apps.

Just a heads-up, though: because of its price and age, it’s not going to be a powerful laptop for things like video editing or heavy-duty gaming. But for all your essay writing, research, and general coursework, it’s an awesome choice.

If you want something reliable that won’t cost you so much money, and you’re not looking for a Chromebook, choose the Acer Aspire 5 laptop.

6 – Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (M3)

★★★★★

SPECS

  • Screen: 13.6-inch Liquid Retina (2560 x 1664)
  • CPU: Apple M3
  • RAM: 24GB
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • OS: macOS
  • Ports: 2x USB-C, 3.5mm headphone/mic jack
  • Misc.: 1080p webcam

PROS

  • Impressive performance
  • Impressive battery life
  • Impressively lightweight and ultra-slim

CONS

  • Not a cheap buy
  • Previous models cheaper
  • Entry model cheaper but weak specs

Calling all MacBook fans. If you’re studying something creative, or even if you just love making content as a serious hobby, you absolutely need to check out the 13-inch MacBook Air (M3) from Apple. Seriously, it’s probably the best laptop for you, and if you’re a student, a must have.

Apple’s M-series processor is almost unparalleled when it comes to creative workloads, and this 13-inch MacBook Air, release in 2024, crams all that creative power into a compact, but durable metal chassis.

The M3 chip offers yet another step up in performance from the 2022 M2 model, marking this as a prime pick for any students who plan to spend a lot of time creating content such as digital art, video editing, 3D design, and animation. Despite the great performance, it’s also silent in use since it’s passively cooled with no fans, and the battery life is phenomenal.

Sadly, this is one of the most expensive laptops on this list, so it’s not for the faint of heart. You’ll probably want to opt for a model slightly above the base version too, since that iteration skimps on RAM with only 8GB where 16GB should really be the minimum.

In the end, the Apple MacBook Air (M3) offers better performance, a slightly better design, and a cheaper price on the base model compared to older models. This is easily the best MacBook money can buy for most people, though I recommend boosting the memory and storage space when ordering. It makes it more expensive, but will last you many more years.

  • Misc.: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 720p webcam

PROS

  • Impressive performance
  • Battery life last up to a day
  • Impressive touchscreen overall

CONS

  • An expensive Chromebook
  • No stylus pen included
  • Low internal storage

If you like more premium Chromebooks to help you with productivity, the let me tell you about the Acer Chromebook Spin 514. Yes, it might be a bit more expensive for a Chromebook, but you get so much for your money.

It’s packed with powerful parts and it’s super easy to use. Plus, it’s really versatile! It has a 360-degree hinge and a touch screen, just like a 2-in-1 laptop. When I tested, I realized how strong its performance is, the tough build, and the all-day battery life it offers.

The Spin 514 is often cheaper than Windows laptops with similar features. So, it’s still a great option if you want a top-notch Chromebook for your studies.

Overall, this is a really solid 2-in-1 laptop with great internal specs. This means it should easily last you through three, four, or even five years of your studies, making it a worthy investment, and with the Acer Chromebook Spin 514, you can be sure it’s a good one!

Let’s begin by seeing what makes the new MacBook Air M4 a step up from yesteryears M3 Apple MacBook. The new MacBook Air M4 isn’t just a minor refresh; it brings significant updates to the table, building upon the solid foundation of the older M3 chip. Here’s a quick peek at the key innovations:

Expect a noticeable leap in processing power and efficiency thanks to the M4 chip. This translates to faster app loading, smoother multitasking, and even more demanding creative workflows handled with ease. Think less, do more.

While the stunning Liquid Retina display remains a hallmark, the new MacBook Air M4 might introduce improvements in brightness, color accuracy, or even a new display technology for an even more immersive visual experience. Keep an eye out for those pixels.

Gamers and creative professionals can rejoice. As the M4 includes a more powerful GPU, meaning smoother graphics performance for your favorite games, and faster rendering times for video editing and 3D work.

Apple’s silicon is renowned for its power efficiency, and the M4 aims to push this even further. Expect even longer battery life, allowing you to work and play for even more hours on a single charge.

While it retains its iconic Liquid Retina display, its weight and thin design, along with the already comfortable keyboard and responsive trackpad, the only design changes are the new color options. From Sky Blue and Midnight, to Silver and Starlight, you have a of trendy colors to go with your personality. And with the input ports, no changes have been made. Yet we could see upgrades in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards, offering faster and more reliable wireless connections.

So, while the core DNA of the MacBook Air remains, the new MacBook Air M4 promises a more refined and capable experience, ready to tackle your tasks with even greater speed and finesse. It’s the next chapter in the story of Apple’s beloved ultraportable.

Reasons to Buy

Bright & Colorful Display

The 13-inch model comes with a Liquid Retina display with a 2560 x 1664 screen resolution, and brightness measuring 500 nits. It’s a fantastic display for all tasks, from gaming and video streaming to video editing and content creation.

The 15-inch display also comes with similar specs, and delivers the same quality, so for the benefit of this review let’s focus on the 13-inch MacBook Air M4. On the top notch of the screen, there’s a 12MP ‘Center Stage Camera’, which is an ultrawide lens; moves with you when you do to keep you in the frame; and is good for video conferencing.

As amazing as the display, one feature that is not available is that it doesn’t come with a touch screen. There’s always the option of picking the iPad Pro 13-inch M4 instead. Overall, both the 13-inch and 15-inch displays looks really amazing. It’s sad that there’s no touch screen.

Same Design, New Colors

There’s nothing ground breaking about the design. From the keyboard and trackpad, to the aluminum finish, the new MacBook Air M4 still looks premium. It’s also really slim, compact and portable. You would swear you stored it in your backpack and forget it cause of its light 1.24 kg/2.7lbs in weight. The only difference it has from the last model are the color options available. There’s Sky Blue, Silver, Starlight, and Midnight to choose from.

With input ports, there’s just two Thunderbolt 4 ports and the MagSafe charging port on the left side, and the headphone jack port on the right. If you want more ports you’ll have to buy a USB-C hub adapter.

Did I mention the keyboard is backlit? Guess I missed that. The backlit keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience. It also comes with all your function keys and a multipurpose power / sleep / Touch ID button that’s useful for unlocking the MacBook Air and logging into various apps and services with your scanned fingertips.

And let’s not forget the audio speakers which is hidden in the hinge below the screen. It’s a 4-speaker stereo sound system that works surprising well. The audio sounds clear and crisp but lacks the bass to make it epic. In the end, no drastic changes to the design of the new MacBook Air M4. Apple has made no drastic changes to the model but has stuck to what works.

Impressive Overall Performance

When it comes to raw power, this M4 chip is a beast. In the Geekbench tests, it scored really high – a whopping 21% faster than the M3 in single-core performance and 23% faster in multi-core!

If you’re into video editing, you’re going to love this! The M4 MacBook Air was a whole minute and a half faster than the M3, which is also  awesome for converting 4K videos. The MacBook Pro is still a bit quicker, but that’s because it has a fan for better cooling, which the fan-less MacBook Air doesn’t need.

Now, there’s one tiny thing I noticed. While I don’t have any major complaints about the SSD speed, the read and write speeds on the 256GB storage were a bit lower than I expected. It’s still way better than the M2 MacBook Air, but surprisingly, the M3 actually had faster speeds here.

In terms of connectivity, the MacBook Air M4 comes with Wi-Fi 6E. It’s good, but honestly, I was hoping for Wi-Fi 7, especially since the new iPhone 16 already has it. Wi-Fi 7 would have given it even more bandwidth, less lag, and made it a bit more future-proof.

Despite the SSD speed, if you’re doing a lot of photo and video editing, this M4 MacBook Air absolutely shines. Overall, it’s a super impressive machine.

Impressive All-day Battery Life

So, you know how Apple always talks about how long their batteries last? Well, they claim the 13-inch MacBook Air M4 can go for up to 15 hours of internet surfing, and it actually got super close from our initial tests. And the result, the MacBook lasted for an impressive 14 hours and 51 minutes.

That’s a fantastic runtime, even if it’s slightly less than the MacBook Air M3. But honestly, that’s pretty much within the normal range. In my experience, I can definitely vouch for its staying power. I used the MacBook Air on and off for a good 8 hours, starting at 11 AM, and by 7 PM, the battery was still at a solid 38%. So, it’s certainly got the juice to get you through a long day.

Reasons Not to Buy

Minor Compromises

There’s a number of things to note about the new MacBook Air (M4). Firstly, there’s no touch screen display. Next, there’s no drastic changes to the design. Thirdly, there are some problems with the new Apple AI feature, namely Apple Intelligence.

You might run into some initial hiccups with things like language settings or even finding that some features aren’t available yet. And honestly, the AI capabilities might not feel super revolutionary or fully fleshed out when you first start using them.

However, while the MacBook Air M4 can definitely handle Apple Intelligence, just be prepared that it might not be a perfectly seamless, mind-blowing experience from day one. I’m sure it will be sorted out with software or security updates soon.

Problems with Apple Intelligence

You know how the MacBook Air M4 is being advertised with all those cool Apple Intelligence features? Well, just a heads-up, it might have a few little quirks right out of the gate.

You might run into some initial hiccups with things like language settings or even finding that some features aren’t available yet. And honestly, the AI capabilities might not feel super revolutionary or fully fleshed out when you first start using them.

Basically, while the MacBook Air M4 can definitely handle Apple Intelligence, just be prepared that it might not be a perfectly seamless, mind-blowing experience from day one. It sounds like there might be a bit of a settling-in period while everything gets ironed out.

Verdict

Even though the 13-inch and 15-inch (M4) MacBook Air comes with excellent performance, with a solid build and design, it’s no doubt going to be a favorite laptop for all MacBook fans. Even the superb, colorful display, the long battery life, and the clear crisp audio it delivers are much appreciated.

The input ports are few but it’s enough as it supports an external screen connected, and includes a headphone jack. And the macOS, along with the rest of Apple’s ecosystem feel unmatched compared to other operating systems.

As decent is the Apple Intelligence or Apple’s AI, it feels somewhat lacking as it’s not entirely up to par compared to other AI systems like ChatGPT and Gemini. However, we’ll hopefully see what the future holds regarding system updates in the next couple of months.

With the 13-inch MacBook Air being offered at a relatively lower price, makes it more desirable to buy, and the colors available just further enhances the design of the MacBook Air.

So if you want to experience the best of what Apple has to offer this year, get the new MacBook Air M4 laptop. Click on the red buttons above to see your purchasing options and start using your new MacBook Air. Don’t forget to leave your comments here below, along with any questions you might have 😀

Bright Display

While the MacBook Pro’s mini-LED display offers an impressive brightness and clarity, it falls short as it does not feature the rich color accuracy and contrast the OLED monitor laptops do. The nano-texture display is a premium feature that reduces glare but adds an extra cost.

On a positive note, the Apple MacBook Pro laptop’s display can reach up to 1000 nits of brightness, but this requires adaptive brightness to be enabled. While this provides excellent visibility in bright conditions, it would be nice to have the option to control it for manually over the maximum brightness.

Overall, the Apple MacBook Pro‘s display is a high-quality panel that delivers excellent performance for most tasks. However, it’s important to consider the trade-offs between mini-LED and OLED technology when making a purchasing decision.

Design Still Okay

The 14-inch and 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro laptop models have maintained a consistent design for the past few years. While these laptops are robust and well-built, their thickness can make them less portable.

The introduction of Space Black as a color option, with Silver being the other color, is a minor change.

The 16-inch model, while more powerful, can be bulky, weighs more and less portable. The 14-inch model, however, offers a better balance of performance and portability.

Both models feature excellent keyboards and trackpads, providing a comfortable typing and navigation experience. However, the notch in the display remains a divisive design choice, impacting the overall screen experience.

Overall, the Apple MacBook Pro laptop remains a strong choice for users who prioritize performance and build quality. While the design hasn’t changed significantly, it still offers a premium experience.

Impressive Overall Performance

Moving on to performance. The new Apple M4 Pro chip has set a new standard for mobile computing performance. It significantly outperforms its predecessors and rivals from Intel, Qualcomm, and AMD.

The M4 Pro’s impressive single-core and multi-core performance translates to faster and more efficient multitasking, making it a great choice for demanding tasks like video editing and 3D rendering.

Additionally, the M4 Pro’s enhanced Neural Engine powers Apple’s new AI features, providing faster and more accurate results. The MacBook Pro’s combination of powerful hardware and optimized software makes it a top choice for creative professionals and power users.

The M4 Pro chip offers significant performance improvements over its predecessors, especially in terms of GPU power. While it may not match the raw power of dedicated gaming GPUs, it can handle many modern games surprisingly well, especially at lower resolutions.

The M4 Pro’s integrated GPU is particularly impressive when compared to the M2 Ultra, delivering comparable performance in certain tasks despite having fewer cores. This demonstrates the efficiency and power of Apple’s silicon.

The MacBook Pro’s stunning display, combined with its powerful processor and GPU, makes it a great option for gaming and content creation. While it may not be a dedicated gaming laptop, it can handle many popular games with ease.

Overall, the performance of the Apple M4 Pro chip is best in its class. Outperforming top processor brands, this is definitely the laptop to pick if you’re looking for a top performing Apple MacBook.

Impressive Battery Life… Depends

Apple claims that the M4 Pro MacBook Pro offers up to 24 hours of battery life, a significant improvement over the previous generation.

However, this impressive figure is specific to certain configurations and usage scenarios. Real-world battery life may vary depending on factors like screen brightness, workload, depending on moderate usage, and the network activity.

While the MacBook Pro excels in light tasks like web browsing, its battery life might decrease under heavy workloads, such as running demanding applications. Further testing is necessary to fully assess the battery life in various scenarios.

It’s important to note that battery life can be influenced by various factors, including software optimizations and user habits. As we continue to use the MacBook Pro, we’ll provide a more comprehensive assessment of its battery life performance.

In the end, the battery life may look impressive, however that depends on how you use it. Moderate usage is always the best option when it comes to laptops with long battery life.

Other Features

The new MacBook Pro models retain the same input ports as the previous generation, including Thunderbolt 4 ports. However, the M4 Pro and M4 Max models feature upgraded Thunderbolt 5 ports, offering faster data transfer speeds and support for more external displays.

The front-facing camera has been significantly improved, with a higher resolution and better low-light performance. Apple has also introduced new features like Center Stage and Desk View, which enhance video conferencing and collaboration.

The MacBook Pro continues to impress with its powerful speakers, delivering excellent audio quality for both music and movies.

Verdict

The new Apple MacBook Pro Laptop (M4) models, particularly the 14-inch version, are better improved compared to the last generation. Thanks to the M4 Pro chip, it offers an impressive performance in both CPU and GPU tasks, making your overall MacBook experience satisfactory.

Additional features like the improved webcam, faster Thunderbolt 5 ports, and longer battery life further enhance the overall user experience. While the pricing remains premium, the MacBook Pro’s performance and features justify the cost for many users.

For now, it’s recommended to wait for further reviews and benchmarks to make an informed decision between the MacBook M4 and the MacBook M4 Max models. However, the Apple MacBook Pro M4 lineup is undoubtedly a compelling choice for those seeking a high-performance laptop.

How to Save Money to Buy Laptop

Save Money to Buy Laptop

If you’re looking to get a laptop but don’t have the money for it right now, then it’s a good idea to save some funds. Have you got a laptop in mind to save up for and a price? Good. Then let me help out here, with our best tips and advice on how you can save money to buy your laptop.

What Laptop am I Looking For?

Yes. Ask yourself that question? It’s easy to get carried away when choosing a new laptop. It’s important to consider your specific needs and what budget are you working with before making a purchase.

Identify the key things you’ll be using the laptop for, such as graphic design, web browsing, or gaming. This will help you determine the necessary spec, like processing power, graphics, memory as RAM, and storage space.

To save money, consider alternative solutions like cloud storage or game streaming services. These can reduce the need for high-end hardware and make your laptop more affordable. By making informed decisions and prioritizing your needs, you can find a laptop that suits your budget and provides the performance you want.

Either Trade-in or Upgrade?

Many retailers offer trade-in options or programs that allow you to exchange your old laptop for a discount on a new one. This can be a convenient way to save money and dispose of your old device responsibly. Another cost-effective option is to upgrade your existing laptop. Depending on your model, you may be able to upgrade components like RAM or storage to improve performance and extend the device’s lifespan. This can be a more affordable option to purchasing a new laptop.

Second-hand Laptop?

Nowadays, buying a new laptop doesn’t always mean you need the latest and greatest model. Consider exploring second-hand options or refurbished laptops to save money without sacrificing quality.

Websites like eBay and Back Market offer a variety of used laptops, but it’s important to research the seller’s reputation before purchasing. Refurbished laptops, such as those sold by Apple, are another excellent option. These devices are professionally refurbished and often come with warranties, offering significant savings over new models.  Additionally, buying last year’s model can be a cost-effective choice, especially if you don’t require the latest features and specs.

Let’s Compare Prices

Good idea! Before purchasing a new laptop, it’s important to compare prices from different retailers to ensure you’re getting the best deal. Price comparison websites like PriceSpy and PriceRunner can help you find the lowest prices on your desired laptop model.

Additionally, browser extensions like Camel Camel Camel can track Amazon prices over time, allowing you to identify the best time to buy. By taking advantage of these tools and resources, you can save money on your laptop purchase and ensure you’re getting the best value for your money.

Overview

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge is a groundbreaking device, positioning itself as a leader in the emerging AI-powered “Copilot+ Ready” laptop market. Equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite processor, it’s one of the first laptops optimized for on-device AI tasks.

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge excels in terms of aesthetics and portability, with a sleek design and vivid display, it’s not without its limitations. The ARM architecture and the device’s role as an early adopter of AI technology have prevented it from reaching its full potential. Let’s break it down and see what’s in store for you.

Stunning Display

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge’s slim and lightweight design boasts a stunning 16-inch display with vibrant colors and excellent brightness. It comes with a 12oHz refresh rate which makes screen animations look smoother, and good brightness of 500 nits which help make the screen look brighter and more vibrant.

In the end, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge’s display is a visual treat for content consumption and an impressive multimedia experience.

Lightweight Design

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge redefines portability without compromising on screen size. Its 16-inch display is housed in an impressively slim and lightweight chassis, making it effortless to carry around. The sturdy build quality, combined with the comfortable keyboard, ensures a pleasant user experience.

While the device’s sleek design is commendable, the keyboard’s performance falls slightly short of expectations. The keys lack tactile feedback, which may affect typing comfort for some users.

Overall, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge strikes a balance between portability and performance, making it a suitable choice for on-the-go professionals.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge leverages the power of the Snapdragon X Elite processor to deliver impressive performance for everyday tasks. While it excels in handling office productivity and light workloads, its limitations become apparent in demanding applications and gaming.

The device’s ARM architecture, while offering benefits in terms of power efficiency, presents compatibility challenges with certain Windows applications. While emulation has improved, performance can be impacted, particularly in resource-intensive tasks.

Despite these limitations, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge delivers solid performance for general use and showcases the potential of ARM-based laptops.

Impressive Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge boasts an impressive battery life, easily lasting multiple days on a single charge under normal usage conditions. With up to 13 hours of battery life, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge consistently delivers outstanding results in real-world and moderate use.

So don’t fret if you leave your charger at home. With its long battery life and lightweight design, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge is an ideal companion for professionals who are frequently on the go.

Other Features

1 – Galaxy Book AI

While the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge is undoubtedly a well-crafted device with impressive battery life, its AI capabilities fall short of expectations. The touted AI features, such as image generation and transcription, are gimmicks rather than game-changers. The device’s true strengths lie in its portability, design, and overall performance as a productivity tool.

It’s essential to recognize that the focus on AI as a primary selling point might be misleading. The Galaxy Book 4 Edge excels as a traditional laptop, delivering a solid user experience without relying heavily on AI-driven features.

2 – Quiet and Cool Performance

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge’s fanless design is a standout feature. Despite the absence of traditional cooling, the laptop remains remarkably cool during regular use, ensuring a comfortable and distraction-free work environment. The lack of fan noise is a significant advantage, allowing users to focus on their tasks without interruptions.

3 – Disappointing Audio Quality

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge’s audio performance is a significant letdown. The bottom-mounted speakers produce thin, tinny sound with virtually no bass response. This is a particular disappointment given the laptop’s excellent display, as the audio quality fails to complement the visual experience. To fully enjoy multimedia content on the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, users will likely need to invest in external speakers or headphones.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge is a compelling option for users seeking a stunning display, lightweight build, and portable laptop. Its impressive 16-inch display and comfortable keyboard make it suitable for both productivity and entertainment. However, the device’s reliance on the Snapdragon X Elite chip introduces limitations in terms of software compatibility.

While the laptop offers impressive battery life and benefits from AI-powered features, its performance may not match traditional x86-based laptops in certain applications. Ultimately, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge caters to users who prioritize portability and long battery life over raw processing power.

Huawei Matebook X Pro

“The Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop is a pinnacle of ultraportable laptop design and performance. With its top-tier processor, ample RAM, and rapid SSD, it delivers exceptional power without sacrificing portability.”

Huawei has once again raised the bar for premium Ultrabooks with the Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop. The latest iteration boasts a stunning design, powerful performance, and innovative features that set it apart from the competition. But is it the ultrabook you’re looking for? Will it meet your expectations? Let’s dive into the Huawei Matebook X Pro review, to see if this Ultra-book will live up to your expectations.

Overview

Huawei’s latest iteration in the MateBook X Pro series, confusingly dubbed the “Core Ultra Premium Edition,” offers a significant upgrade over its predecessors. Equipped with Intel’s new Core Ultra processors, the Matebook X Pro delivers enhanced performance and maintains the series’ reputation for sleek design and portability.

The 2024 model retains the familiar Huawei aesthetic, boasting a thin and lightweight form factor. The top-of-the-range model, that includes hardware such as a 2TB SSD and 32GB of RAM, showcases the laptop’s full potential.

Notably, Huawei has included a generous accessory package, complete with a 90W charger, USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-A adapter, and even a pair of USB-C headphones.

While the laptop impresses with its core specifications, the lack of processor options might limit choices for consumers seeking different price tags or performance levels.

Stunning Display

The star of the show on the Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop is undoubtedly its stunning display. Upgraded from the previous model, it now boasts a 120Hz OLED panel, doubling the peak brightness from the previous model to an impressive 1000 nits.

This translates to vibrant colors, deep blacks, and wide viewing angles, making it a visual feast for both content consumption and creative work.

The display’s performance is further enhanced by its excellent color accuracy, covering a wide color gamut. Huawei’s Display Manager provides users with granular control over color profiles, allowing for precise color tuning based on content type.

Overall, the Huawei MateBook X Pro’s display sets a new benchmark for laptop screens, delivering an exceptional visual experience.

Impressive Design

The Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop is a testament to sleek design and craftsmanship. Its lineage can be traced back to earlier models, but this iteration refines the formula. The lightweight aluminum chassis, with its soft-touch finish, exudes premium quality.

The minimalist lid is adorned only by the iconic Huawei logo, while the interior boasts a clean layout with a spacious keyboard and a generous touchpad. Huawei’s attention to detail is evident in subtle touches like the etched “YOGA 9 SERIES” logo and the integrated fingerprint sensor.

The overall design is both visually appealing and functional, making the Huawei MateBook X Pro a joy to use.

Impressive Performance

The MateBook X Pro packs a powerful punch with its Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and 32GB LPDDR5x RAM. This combination effortlessly handled demanding tasks like running multiple applications and editing photos in Photoshop.

While it’s not a dedicated gaming machine, the integrated Intel Arc graphics delivered respectable performance for casual gaming and content creation. While the laptop performed admirably under stress, with fan noise remaining manageable, the CPU did throttle slightly during extended periods of heavy load.

However, this is a common occurrence in thin and light laptops and doesn’t significantly impact overall performance. Overall, the MateBook X Pro 2024 offers a strong balance of performance and efficiency, making it a compelling choice for professionals and creative users alike.

Lenovo Yoga 9i Review: The Astonishing Yet High Price

Lenovo Yoga 9i Review

Lenovo Yoga 9i (2024)

“The Lenovo Yoga 9i delivers a compelling package of performance, design, and versatility. Its impressive display, powerful processor, and innovative soundbar creates an impressive user experience”

The Lenovo Yoga 9i has solidified its position as a top contender in the premium 2-in-1 laptop market. With other great 2-in-1 laptops currently in the market right now, will it really maintain its position or will it fall flat. If you’re looking to get yourself the best 2-in-1 laptop, let’s dive in the Lenovo Yoga 9i review and see if it’s the ideal laptop for you.

Overview

Lenovo’s Yoga 9i is a standout contender in the premium 2-in-1 laptop market. Equipped with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, it delivers powerful performance to handle demanding tasks. The included stylus enhances creativity and productivity, setting it apart from competitors. While the Yoga 9i boasts impressive features, it’s not without its limitations.

The limited port selection might be a drawback for some users, and the top-tier configurations come with a hefty price tag. Additionally, the Shadow Black model offers superior build quality and design compared to other color options.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the Yoga 9i remains a compelling choice for those seeking a versatile and high-performance laptop. Its stunning display, powerful processor, and convenient 2-in-1 design make it a strong contender in the premium laptop market.

Specs

  • Display: 14-inch, 1080p
  • CPU:  Intel Core i7-1185G7 or 1260P
  • GPU: Intel Iris Xe
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Ports: 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB Type-A, 1x headphone jack
  • Weight: 3lbs/1.4kg

Design

The Lenovo Yoga 9i is a visually appealing 2-in-1 laptop, with its silver chassis exuding a sleek and modern aesthetic. However, the Shadow Black variant takes things a step further with a premium dark metal finish and an optional leather case. This model also boasts a glass palm rest with integrated fingerprint sensor and haptic touchpad.

While our review unit lacked these premium features, the silver model still offers a stylish design with a chrome “YOGA” logo and a subtle “YOGA 9 SERIES” etching on the lid. The interior complements the sleek exterior with slim bezels on the sides, a larger top bezel for the webcam, and a spacious keyboard below. The soundbar cleverly integrates into the hinge, adding to the device’s overall sophistication.

Display

The Lenovo Yoga 9i boasts a stunning 14-inch display that defies its 1080p resolution. Its exceptional color accuracy and clarity create an immersive viewing experience that initially fooled us into thinking it was a 4K panel. The vibrant colors and sharp details showcased in content like Raya and the Last Dragon are a testament to its quality.

While the Yoga 9i excels in color reproduction, it falls short in terms of brightness compared to competitors like the XPS 13 2-in-1 and MacBook Air. This can result in some glare in brightly lit environments. Despite this minor drawback, the Yoga 9i’s display remains a strong point, offering a visually pleasing experience for both work and entertainment.

Performance

The Lenovo Yoga 9i comes with surprisingly great performance, thanks to its CPU options of either an 11th gen or a 12th gen Intel Core i7 processor, and 16GB of RAM memory. Handling multiple tasks, including several 1080p YouTube tabs, was a breeze.

Benchmark tests further solidified its performance prowess, outperforming competitors like the Spectre x360 14 while falling slightly short of the XPS 13 2-in-1 and MacBook Air.

Video editing tasks were handled efficiently, with the Yoga 9i completing our Handbrake test faster than its rivals. While the SSD speed was impressive, it didn’t quite match the top performer in our tests.

The Yoga 9i comes equipped with Iris Xe Graphics, which offers decent performance for casual gaming. While not ideal for demanding titles, it can handle less intensive games at playable frame rates.

Benchmark tests like 3DMark Fire Strike showcase the Yoga 9i’s graphics capabilities, outperforming competitors like the Spectre x360 14. Gaming tests, like running Civilization VI, revealed solid performance, though it fell slightly short of the ideal 30 fps mark.

Overall, the Yoga 9i delivers strong performance across the board, making it a capable machine for demanding users. The Yoga 9i’s graphics performance is satisfactory for casual gamers but might not meet the expectations of hardcore enthusiasts.

Battery Life

Lenovo promises up to 10 hours of battery life for the Yoga 9i, and our tests exceeded those expectations. The Yoga 9i comfortably surpassed this estimate, delivering over 11 hours of continuous web browsing at moderate brightness.

While the Yoga 9i outperforms its rival, the XPS 13 2-in-1, it falls short of the impressive battery life offered by the Spectre x360 14 and the MacBook Air. Nevertheless, the Yoga 9i’s battery performance is commendable and should satisfy most users’ needs.

Other Features

The Yoga 9i’s rotating soundbar is a standout feature, delivering impressive audio quality in any mode. The sound is clear, loud, and immersive, enhancing the overall multimedia experience. While listening to music, the soundbar showcased its capabilities by producing rich and detailed sound.

The separation of instruments was noticeable, creating a captivating listening experience. However, during complex musical pieces with multiple instruments, there was a slight muddiness in the sound, indicating that the speakers might be pushed to their limits.

The Yoga 9i follows the modern trend of slimmer laptops with fewer ports. You’ll find a total of four ports on the device. On the left side, you’ll discover two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a standard USB Type-A port, and a headphone jack.

The power button is conveniently located on the right side. Additionally, a fingerprint sensor is embedded in the keyboard deck for added security.

The Yoga 9i boasts a discreet webcam shutter, a welcome privacy feature often overlooked in laptop designs. However, the lack of IR capabilities means it’s incompatible with Windows Hello facial recognition, a minor inconvenience for those who prioritize security and convenience.

Image quality from the 720p webcam is a noticeable improvement over its predecessor, the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1. While it still produces slightly grainy images, the webcam accurately captures colors and details.

In short, the Yogi 9i comes with some awesome features. The Yoga 9i’s audio performance is impressive and adds significantly to the overall user experience. The webcam is functional but doesn’t set new standards in the industry.

Verdict

The Lenovo Yoga 9i delivers a compelling package of performance, design, and versatility. Its impressive display, powerful processor, and innovative soundbar creates an impressive user experience. While it faces stiff competition from other premium options like the XPS 13 2-in-1 and MacBook Air, the Yoga 9i holds its own with strong performance and a premium build quality.

However, potential buyers should consider the limited port selection and the premium price tag for the Shadow Black model. Ultimately, the Yoga 9i is a fantastic choice for those seeking a high-end 2-in-1 laptop that blends style, performance, and functionality.

The Simple Guide to Improve Laptop Battery Life

Who doesn’t love squeezing the most juice out of their laptop battery? The good news is, the Windows OS is already on your side! It boasts a range of built-in settings specifically designed to optimize your laptop’s battery performance. Even if you own one of the best laptops for battery life, there’s always room for improvement. The best part? Most of these tweaks don’t require any additional software – they’re completely free and easy to implement! Keep reading to discover hidden gems within Windows to improve laptop battery life.

Use Windows Tools

Windows laptops might be the battery champ, but its secret weapons are hidden. Many built-in tools designed to extend your laptop’s life are switched off by default. Let’s switch them on to improve laptop’s battery life.

1 – Activate Battery SaverThis built-in power saver is your first line of defense. It offers a range of options like dimming your screen or limiting notifications when unplugged, all to conserve battery life.

2 – Power Down, Power Up EfficientlyModern laptops are powerhouses, so consider switching to the “Best power efficiency overall” mode. Reserve the high-performance modes for those moments when you truly need the extra muscle.

3 – Hibernation, Your Battery’s Best Friend: For extended breaks, take advantage of Hibernation mode. This puts your laptop in a deep sleep, preserving battery life significantly compared to regular sleep mode.

4 – Airplane Mode: For those times when sacrificing internet connectivity isn’t a dealbreaker, enabling Airplane mode completely cuts off wireless connections, maximizing battery savings. However, this might not be ideal for everyone in our internet-dependent world.

By implementing these simple tweaks, you can unlock the full battery-saving potential of Windows 11 and keep your laptop humming for longer!

Monitor Battery Health

Unlike some laptops, Windows 11 doesn’t offer a readily available battery health indicator. While some manufacturers have their own monitoring apps, Windows itself holds a valuable secret weapon: a comprehensive battery report.

Unlocking the Battery Report:

1 – Open Command Prompt (search for it in the Start Menu).

2 – Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.

This will generate an HTML file containing a wealth of information about your battery, including estimated remaining life and how you’re using battery power. While accessing it might not be the most intuitive process, this report is a goldmine for understanding your battery’s health and maximizing its lifespan.

Disable Power Hungry Apps

Ever feel like your laptop takes ages to boot up, or its battery drains faster than usual? Annoying startup apps might be the culprit! Many programs sneak themselves onto your startup list during installation, automatically launching when you turn on your laptop. While this might seem convenient on a desktop PC, it’s a battery drain monster on laptops. Here’s the fix to improve laptop battery life:

1 – Head to the Startup Apps menu (search for it in the Start Menu).

2 – Take a deep breath and disable everything you see on the list.

3 – Reboot your laptop.

Don’t worry, this isn’t permanent! Simply re-enable any programs you genuinely need on startup. The rest can stay disabled, saving you precious boot time and improve laptop’s battery life. By following this strategy, you can reclaim control over your startup process and keep your laptop running smoothly and efficiently.

Use Laptop Energy Recommendations

Windows has a hidden gem waiting to boost your battery life: the Energy recommendations feature! This handy tool, located in Settings > System > Power & battery, analyzes your system and suggests a range of tweaks to maximize your laptop’s unplugged life.

From simple adjustments like switching to a power-saving mode to more unexpected tips like disabling USB power when your screen is off, Energy recommendations offer a comprehensive approach to battery optimization.

Even if you’ve already made some battery-saving changes, it’s worth checking this list. You might discover hidden settings you haven’t considered that can squeeze even more juice out of your laptop’s battery.

Monitor Battery Charge Cycles

All laptop batteries have a limited lifespan. Just like a car engine, they can only go through so many recharge cycles before their capacity starts to decline. For lithium-ion batteries, like the one in your Windows laptop, that’s typically around 500 cycles. After reaching this point, the battery might only hold 80% of its original charge.

Now, this 500 cycles is a conservative estimate – smartphone batteries are often rated for around 800 cycles. The key thing to remember is that a cycle doesn’t necessarily mean draining the entire battery from 100% to 0%. Plugging in throughout the day still counts towards a cycle, but it doesn’t deplete it as quickly as a full discharge.

The good news is, small reductions in battery life happen gradually. However, there are ways to maximize your battery’s health and lifespan. Keep it charged between 20% and 80%. Lithium-ion batteries are happiest in this sweet spot. If your laptop has software that lets you limit the maximum charge to 80%, enable it! This helps maintain battery health over time.

By following these simple tips, you can improve laptop battery life extending it and keeping it running stronger for longer.

Avoid High Temperature Areas

Heat is the kryptonite of laptop batteries! While lithium-ion batteries are content at room temperature, they become grumpy when exposed to direct sunlight, scorching environments, or excessive humidity.

Keeping Your Battery Cool, here’s how:

1 – Fend Off the Extremes: Shield your laptop from the sun’s wrath and avoid using it in excessively hot or humid places.

2 – Clear Those Airways: Dust and debris can clog air vents, hindering airflow and causing overheating. Keep those vents clean for optimal ventilation.

3 – Cool It Down: If you can’t control the ambient temperature, consider using a cooling pad with a fan. This can lower the battery’s operating temperature by a few degrees, keeping it happy and healthy.

4 – Ditch the Lap Myth: Despite the name, laptops aren’t designed for laps! The soft materials trap heat, blocking airflow. Use a sturdy surface like a table or tray for better cooling.

By following these simple tips, you can keep your laptop battery functioning optimally and extend its lifespan. Remember, a cool battery is a happy battery!

In Closing

Even the endurance champions of laptops, like those powered by Snapdragon X Elite processors, can benefit from a few tweaks to squeeze out even more juice. Implementing these tips will help you improve laptop battery life, allowing you to work unplugged for longer.

These suggestions are geared towards maximizing battery health and performance on a functional battery. However, if your laptop is experiencing significant battery drain or doesn’t hold a charge, it might require a replacement or further troubleshooting.
