★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

The stories are a lot of things – a mixture of humor, heartbreak, and downright mind-blowing. One minute you’re laughing with a street vendor. The next thing you know, you’re facing a moral dilemma that’ll keep you up at night.

The main story though, it’s a bit of a sprint, and figuring out how to get the “good” ending can be a conundrum. If that gets too much you can try the side missions. That’s where the action is.

Then there’s the bugs and glitches which have been fixed since launch. They can be a real pain so keep the game updated at all times.

Overall, Cyberpunk 2077 is a truly remarkable first person RPG game. The sheer freedom and depth of the game looks and feels incredible. It’s like a cyberpunk sandbox where you get to write your own chaotic, unforgettable story. Just be prepared for a few digital hiccups along the way!

Dying Light 2: Stay Human

Available: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Developers: Techland

Release: February 2022

“Dying Light 2 is like a diamond in the rough. It’s got the potential to shine brightly, but it needs a bit of polishing”

★ ★ ★ ☆

If you enjoy killing zombies using special moves, custom melee weapons and traversing from building to building, then Dying Light 2: Stay Human is the video game for you!

It’s a great game and has the potential to be one of the best zombie survival adventure games, yet it received mediocre reviews cos of the many many bugs and glitches the game has.

The main story is not the best, but the game shines cos of the gameplay, with plenty of side quests to help grow you protagonists’ skills, and the superb graphic detail of the post-apocalyptic city, with the vibrant open-world. Let’s not forget the excellent voice acting, and the cast delightfully weird characters you’ll meet along the way.

And the zombies, they are plenty out there to kill. With an arsenal of melee weapons to play with and create, your become unstoppable. At daylight they are roaming the streets, but the fun begins at night time where challenging mothers appear.

But the more the challenge, the more stronger you become. As you run on rooftops, performing gravity-defying actions, while dodging zombies and monsters at night time, you gain more experience points than during the daytime to learn move skills, and improve your chances of survival.

Bottom line. Dying Light 2 is like a diamond in the rough. It’s got the potential to shine brightly, but it needs a bit of polishing. If you can handle the very few bumps in the road, you’ll find a thrilling survival adventure and a captivating post-apocalyptic world.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Available: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X

Developers: Warhorse Studios

Release: February 2025

“Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a deep dive into a believable, immersive medieval world. It’s a game that respects history, challenges your skills, and lets you forge your own path”

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

If medieval RPG games are more your thing or can’t wait for the new Elder Scrolls game to come out,  then here’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to enjoy while you wait.

Forget button-mashing to get you out of trouble. This game’s melee combat is brilliant but brutal, and I mean it when I say it. We’re talking realistic, skill-based swordplay that makes you feel like a skilled medieval knight in this case. It’s the kind of combat The Elder Scrolls could only dream of doing.

Now, Deliverance 2 is a mixture of all genres. It’s like it’s juggling two personalities: one part with an epic cinematic, following the story of a specific hero, and one part sprawling, with a dynamic sandbox, overflowing with side quests and the freedom to explore the open world. Sometimes, those two personalities would clash, and you might get a bit of a whiplash.

But here’s the thing, most of the time they work together beautifully. You’re free to explore the world, dive into countless side adventures, and still make your way towards a main storyline that’s genuinely thought-provoking and epic. It’s like you’re writing your own medieval saga, with a grand finale that’ll stick with you long after the credits roll.

There are a few things to note about the game. The medieval world is challenging. There’s a deep learning curve, and few bugs here and there. But once you get past all that, the games starts to work your way.

Overall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a deep dive into a believable, immersive medieval world. It’s a game that respects history, challenges your skills, and lets you forge your own path. If you’re looking for one of the best first person RPG games of 2025, that’s both gritty and grand, this one is definitely your next adventure!

Developers: Obsidian Entertainment

Release: October 2019

The Outer Worlds is a new breath of fresh air in the sci-fi, first person RPG genre. It’s a game that respects its roots while boldly forging its own.

★ ★ ★ ★

If you’re a sci-fi fan and crave games that take you on an epic space adventure, look no further than the next first person RPG game called The Outer Worlds.

Obsidian have cooked up something truly special, creating their own gaming franchise in the galaxy between Bethesda’s open worlds and Bioware’s character driven stories.

To be honest – it has been awhile since we heard anything new from the popular game studios, such as Bethesda and Bioware. Then this game was released, bringing with it a fresh new action-packed space adventure.

Don’t expect anything new or massive. Instead, you’ll be exploring a series of exotic planets, each packed with side quests, moral dilemmas, and plenty of opportunities to get in and out of trouble. Think of it as a collection of mini-open worlds, each with its own unique flavor.

And the gameplay? It’s like a familiar recipe with a delicious new twist. You’ll recognize the combat, character progression, and companion systems from other popular titles, but Obsidian has sprinkled in enough unique and fresh ideas to make it look and feel genuine, not a cheap knock-off.

It’s got that classic RPG feel, yet filled with its own quirky personality and sharp wit.

In the end, The Outer Worlds is a new breath of fresh air in the sci-fi, first person RPG genre. It’s a game that respects its roots while boldly forging its own. If you crave a witty, engaging, and genuinely one of the best space adventure, first person RPG games. Then try your hand at the Outer Worlds.

Fallout 4

Fallout 4

Available: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Developers: Bethesda

Release: November 2015

Fallout 4’s a game that keeps pulling you back in. Even after 50 hours, you’ll find yourself discovering new secrets, stumbling upon unexpected encounters, and getting lost in the sheer vastness of the world.

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

If you favor an open world in a post-apocalyptic era, where survival of the fittest is the number one priority, then Fallout 4 is the game for you.

Released back in 2015, this game is a labor of love, plain and simple. You can feel the passion poured into every single detail, from the radio stations blasting catchy tunes to the chilling, green glow of flash radiation storms. It’s a open world that is begging to be explored, a playground of post-apocalyptic sights and delights.

Let’s be honest here, crafting your perfect, gloriously bizarre character build is only half the fun. You’ll be diving into perks and customization options, trying to piece together your ultimate vault dweller turned wasteland survivor.

Sadly, it’s not a perfect game. Now, Fallout 4 has its quirks, yet it’s got those Bethesda RPG “issues,” like little glitches and inconsistencies that can sometimes throw you for a loop.

But here’s the thing: those very same quirks are also what make it unforgettable. It’s like a chaotic masterpiece, a sprawling adventure that’s as charming as it is flawed.

Overall, Fallout 4’s a game that keeps pulling you back in. Even after 50 hours, you’ll find yourself discovering new secrets, stumbling upon unexpected encounters, and getting lost in the sheer vastness of the world.

It’s the kind of game you play for hours on end, even after you’ve finished the main story. And honestly, that’s the best kind of game, isn’t it? It’s a messy, beautiful, and utterly captivating journey through the wasteland.
