Design

The laptop comes with a black chassis and a brushed metal lid to give it an edgy look. The red emblem on top gives it a nice unique look to it. It is ultra-slim measuring at 1.02 inches and weighs 2,52 kg making it light to carry and fits well into a laptop bag.

The fans at the bottom help improve heat dissipation. It can get quite loud whilst being used but it is something you can get used to.

The sound speakers are placed at the bottom of the laptop. It comes with input ports, such as three USB ports, headphone, microphone, Ethernet, HDMI, and a USB-C.

Display

The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch display that offers a slight degree of brightness. The maximum resolution reaches up to 1980×1080 offering full HD quality features.

The laptop comes with an NVIDIA GeForce 1060 GTX graphics card that can run the latest gaming software. It offers the most cutting-edge graphics, with a 144Hz refresh rate which allows for smoother on-screen performance.

Keyboard and TouchPad

Apple MacBook Air Review: 2018’s Powerful MacBook

Here we have the 2018’s Apple MacBook Air review. It has been known to be a great laptop for many reasons.  Let’s see what it has in store.

The Apple MacBook Air is a notebook from Apple that comes with two models: 128GB and 256GB version. The one on review is the 256GB version that comes with a 13-inch display. It’s powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, with 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD hard drive. Both MacBooks come with a great design finish, a choice of exotic colors to choose from, slim and lightweight.

 

Display

The MacBook Air display comes with an array of technologies that make viewing even more pleasant. First is the thin screen bezels. Secondly, it comes with a Retina display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 227ppi.

 

 

Thirdly, the viewing angles are improved from previous models. Lastly, the improved colour accuracy, with auto-adjusting colour temperature gives it a more natural and comfortable viewing experience. In short, the MacBook Air display is the most impressive. The high screen resolution gives it a premium look-and-feel while viewing pictures and videos look better than ever.

 

Design

The MacBook Air comes with some interesting design features. Firstly, the touchpad and the keyboard. The touchpad is quite large offering quieter clicks and more responsiveness, whilst the keyboard offers more key stability, responsive typing experience and comfort. Secondly, the audio speakers, placed on the left and right side with the keyboard between, offers great sound output from a small package. Thirdly, the overall chassis is made from recycled aluminum and comes in a good range of colours: space grey, gold and silver.

 

 

 

And lastly, the webcam and fingerprint sensor. The 720p HD webcam and the ‘three-microphone array’ make video conferencing sessions look and sound good but laptops nowadays go have 1080p webcams. The fingerprint sensor, a security feature on the touch-pad, works well with no hassles. Overall, the MacBook Air design isn’t as great but Apple is game-changing as that of the original MacBook Air, Apple has gone to impressive lengths to improve on the look and feel of the new model.

 

Performance

The performance is less than desirable. The RAM is good enough, the SSD internal storage works well, but the dual-core processor is less than adequate. Apps take longer to load and start to get sluggish when you open more than one app. In short, performance is not really the best here, unless you can open it up and install a better processor. 

 

Other features

Here are some other features to take note of from the MacBook Air. First, the notebook comes with a non-removable lithium-polymer battery that offers you 12-hour battery life on a single charge. From testing, the notebook managed 10 hours of use, not exactly 12 hours yet it’s pretty close. Overall, no need to worry about losing power because you’ll have plenty of it.

 

 

Secondly, there are only 2 USB-C input ports on the left-hand side of the notebook. That’s way too few in my opinion. If you need to, it’s a good idea to get yourself a USB-C adapter to increase input ports as it comes with more ports such HDMI, Ethernet, SD reader, USB, etc. Don’t despair if it doesn’t have enough input ports, just get a USB-C adapter.  

 

Verdict

My verdict is thus: Great looking display with stunning visuals, notebook design not that wow but other design features will more than make up for it. The system performance and input ports are lacking here but battery life is great.

Overall, if you can handle the performance of this laptop then I say get one. The visuals will blow you away, the battery life is amazing and typing or using the touch-pad works well. Recommend to Apple notebook fans, frequent travelers, creative artists and students but not for gamers.

Overall, the laptop has great display features perfect for creative work.    

 

 

Graphics

If you are a gamer as well and want to take a break from daily work, the MSI P65 laptop is a great gaming option. The laptop comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti graphics card, which is great for high-end 3D modeling software and optimized for high-end gaming software such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Battlefield 5, Fallout 76, etc. Overall, great gaming performance and is great for creative work. 

 

 

Other features

The MSI laptop comes with other features to get you started as soon as you plug it in. This includes a fingerprint sensor and comes with a software package to start working, namely: Magix Movie Edit Pro 2018; Fastcut; Paintshop Pro X9; PC Mover Express; Samplitude Music Studio 2017; etc. to name a few. To sum up, a great software package to get you working on your creativity.

 

 

My Thoughts

This laptop is one of the highest-rated notebooks available. To start, it has good overall performance for working and gaming. Secondly, the white design makes it look good and unique. Thirdly, it comes with a good quality full HD display with an HDMI port to connect to a bigger or better quality screen. 

Although the battery life is short at fewer than 6 hours, and the price of this laptop is mid-range, it’s an excellent laptop for starters with a limited budget. So  

If you love playing video games it has one of the best graphics cards that can run the latest and best-selling games today. Also to note that it also has good audio and it comes with an internal cooling unit. I highly recommend this notebook for gamers and our creative artists as it can help them make a name for themselves.

Another factor to consider when getting a laptop bag is to check if it is waterproof, meaning that it can protect your laptop from water damage, which also includes protection from heat, moisture and other damages.

It’s a good idea to also consider these factors when you are looking to buy a good quality laptop bag.

  • Best used for laptops that are smaller than 13-inches

These are the stylish, elegant looking bags or suitcases mostly seen favoured and carried by corporate individuals in the workplace. Most of them have two handlebars, are rectangular-shaped, has a smooth leather finish, and has a single zipped compartment to store your laptop computer.

Another feature is that it comes with smaller compartments to keep other laptop accessories, and a detachable shoulder strap to sling across your shoulder that converts it into a sling bag. A drawback is that when you carry it with your hands, it is best to keep switching to avoid strain.

  • Offers a good amount of protection for your laptop machine
  • Comes in numerous stylish classy and leather designs
  • Blends well
  • Makes your look professional in the workplace

 

 

Laptop Sleeve

This bag is good for keeping your laptop stowed away safely inside your home if not in use, or as a laptop cover inside one of the laptop bags to increase protection. The main flaw for this one is that it offers the least amount of protection for your machine compared to the other bags.

Another drawback is that when you decide to purchase one, you must check the dimensions of the laptop sleeve because a loosely fitted will cause more damage to the laptop when it falls to the ground.

  • Really lightweight and easy to carry
  • Affordable
  • Available in several colours, textures, and designs

 

 

Conclusion

You ask for help but end up not getting the info you need to decide or you get confused even more. After that, you choose to either buy it because it’s recommended or you leave with buying it. Most of us end up buying the recommended product because we rely upon what information we get. The problem here is that a lot of us come unprepared, without any knowledge before we purchase. Is this ringing any bells?

 

I hope so, but we’ve all been there.

 

It’s not a good feeling to purchase a product without knowing about the brand. It’s not a great feeling using it and finding out there are bugs that need fixing. All this stems from not knowing nor doing any prior knowledge-gathering before going to the store. From that time on, before I buy any electronic goods, I would go online, search it, read up on benefits and costs, compare reviews and prices before purchase.
