From enhanced gaming performance and portability to versatility for work and entertainment, we’ll dive into the unique features and benefits that make gaming laptops a worthy investment. Additionally, we’ll discuss the future-proofing aspects and cost-effectiveness that make these laptops an attractive option for both gaming enthusiasts and those seeking a versatile computing solution. So without wasting time, let’s get into five reasons why you should buy a gaming laptop.

Enhanced Gaming Performance

Gone are the days when gaming on a laptop meant settling for pixelated graphics and laggy gameplay. With a gaming laptop, you can enjoy the thrill of high-quality graphics and smooth performance thanks to its dedicated graphics card. Whether you’re battling enemies in a first-person shooter or exploring vast open worlds, a dedicated graphics card ensures that every detail is rendered with precision. Say goodbye to choppy frame rates and hello to an immersive gaming experience!

A gaming laptop is like a multi-tasking wizard that can handle anything you throw at it. Its powerful processor ensures that your games run smoothly without any slowdowns or hiccups. From intense gaming sessions to running complex software, a gaming laptop’s processor can handle it all. No more waiting for loading screens or experiencing frustrating delays. With a gaming laptop, you’ll have the power to conquer any digital challenge that comes your way.

Portability and Convenience

Gaming laptops have come a long way in terms of design, and they now offer a perfect blend of power and portability. Unlike their bulky predecessors, modern gaming laptops are lightweight and easy to carry around. Whether you’re gaming on the go or taking your laptop to a friend’s house, you’ll appreciate the convenience of a portable gaming powerhouse that can fit into your backpack or laptop bag with ease.

Gone are the days of needing a dedicated gaming setup with a bulky desktop tower. Gaming laptops are designed to be compact, saving you precious desk space. Their sleek and stylish form factor allows them to seamlessly blend into any environment, whether it’s your home office or a coffee shop. So, if you’re someone who values both gaming prowess and a clutter-free workspace, a gaming laptop is the way to go.

Versatility for Work and Entertainment

A gaming laptop isn’t just for gaming; it’s a versatile machine that can handle all your work and entertainment needs. With its powerful hardware and ample RAM, you can effortlessly switch between multiple applications without any stutter or lag. So, whether you’re editing videos, streaming your favourite shows, or working on a demanding project, a gaming laptop has got your back.

A breathtaking cinematic experience awaits you with a gaming laptop’s high-resolution display. The vibrant colours, sharp details, and wide viewing angles make everything from movies to graphic design projects come to life. Whether you’re watching your favourite shows or diving into the latest AAA title, a gaming laptop’s display ensures that you don’t miss a single pixel of the action.

Future-Proofing and Upgradability

Adaptability is the name of the game when it comes to gaming laptops. Unlike traditional laptops, gaming laptops often allow you to upgrade certain components, such as RAM or storage, to keep up with the latest advancements in technology. This means that you can future-proof your machine and extend its lifespan without having to buy an entirely new laptop. So, even as newer and more demanding games are released, your gaming laptop can evolve alongside them.

Gaming laptops are designed with the latest technologies in mind, ensuring that you stay ahead of the curve. They often come equipped with cutting-edge features like USB Type-C ports, RGB lighting, and advanced cooling systems. These features not only enhance your gaming experience but also provide compatibility with emerging technologies. With a gaming laptop, you’ll be ready to embrace the future of gaming without missing a beat.

So, if you’re looking to elevate your gaming experience, embrace portability and versatility, and future-proof your gaming rig, a gaming laptop is the ultimate investment. It’s time to level up your gaming journey and embark on epic adventures with a gaming laptop by your side.

Cost-Effective Investment

When it comes to gaming laptops, durability is more than just a nice bonus – it’s a necessity. These machines are designed to handle the demands of intense gaming sessions, with powerful components and sturdy construction. Investing in a gaming laptop means you’ll have a device that can stand the test of time, without needing frequent repairs or upgrades. So, not only do you get to enjoy your favourite games right now, but you can also rest easy knowing that your laptop will continue to perform well for years to come.

Gaming laptops often come with a heftier price tag compared to regular laptops, but don’t let that scare you away. Consider the value of the money you’re getting. A gaming laptop is not just a device for playing games; it’s a versatile machine that can handle demanding tasks like video editing, graphic design, and even virtual reality experiences. So, while you might be paying a bit more upfront, you’re getting a device that can serve you in various aspects of your life.

Overview

The Acer Nitro series of gaming laptops has always been the budget choice for gamers, with a price range from US$700 and US$2000. From past reviews of older Nitro model gaming laptops, the scores were not the best, but with the latest 2022 release, I had hopes that things would be different – and to my surprise, it has.

This is the 2022 release of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop, one of Acer’s budget gaming laptops. The model reviewed comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, the latest twelfth generation Intel Core i5 processor with 6GB GeForce RTX 3060 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD internal storage. It also includes the Windows 11 Home operating system.

The back view of the Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop.

From the initial view of the specs, the Acer Nitro 5 looks promising with a 12th-generation processor, 6GB of graphics, and 16 GB of RAM. But is it worthy of your purchase?

What’s To Like

Good Design

The Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop comes in a simple clamshell design with pinstripes on the back lid, the name Nitro written in red, and an RGB backlit keyboard that comes with four different color zones. Not groundbreaking but it works out and looks good.

The back lid and side view of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop.

It’s 1.06 inches thick. It weighs 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg), so yeah it’s quite heavy. Input ports include two USB 3 on the right side, a charge port, with a USB-C and an HDMI port on the backside, a 3.5mm headphone audio jack, another USB 3, and an ethernet port on the left side of the laptop.

The display is 15 inches long with a 720p webcam above. Then below is the RGB backlit keyboard and a relatively medium-sized touchpad. Overall. Good design. A good set of input ports. Stunning RGB backlit keyboard. Standard design features with a webcam included.

Design score = 3.9/5

Good Performance

For normal use of daily routine tasks, the performance of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is top-notch, with no signs of slowness, and smooth scrolling while web browsing, video streaming, and editing of photos and videos.

For gaming, the performance is decent. I was able to play Cyperpunk 2077 and other high-demanding games in medium to high graphics settings with no problems in performance. The overall gaming graphics look good and had no problems with the gameplay. Set it to high/ultra graphic settings then there’s a significant drop in frame rate.

The audio sound output is decent. The speakers are placed on both sides of the gaming laptop and sound good for casual gaming. Once the cooling fans start kicking off they get quite loud but bearable especially whilst gaming. That’s when headphones come in handy. Overall. Impressive for normal tasking. Decent for gaming.

Performance score = 4/5.

Good quality for a standard display

Looking at the 15-inch screen, it’s quite large and bright with good use of color, good sharpness, and impressively detailed thanks to the 144 Hz refresh rate and a 1080p screen resolution included. Nowadays, a Full HD display is the standard feature for all gaming laptops. Not groundbreaking but it looks surprisingly detailed. Not much more to say here but overall, good quality for a standard display.

Display score = 4/5.

Affordable price

As I previously stated, the price range of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop averages between $700 and $2000. With the one on review you can also expect a decent but affordable price range of between $1000 and $1600. To see the actual price, click here or click on the button above.

What’s To Dislike

Short but average battery life

The average battery life for gaming laptops, even the most expensive ones, is 4 hours or less. When testing the battery life, the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop lasted for 3 hours and 20 minutes until shutdown. It’s not impressive but that’s the norm for gaming laptops. So if you decide you wanna game-on-the-go, make sure you have a power cable.

The side view of the slim Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop.

Overall. Short battery life but is average for gaming laptops.

Battery life score = 3.5/5.

Verdict

If your budget is tight, prefer gaming laptops over consoles, or just want one that’s not heavy on design, then the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is most definitely for you. I recommend it cos it’s fun to use for everyday tasks, and not mind-blowing for gaming, but it’s an average gaming laptop, with an average design, and average performance, and is available within the budget gaming laptop range.

So what are your thoughts on the Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop? Are you looking for a cheaper gaming laptop? Do you prefer consoles or handheld mobile devices? Please leave your comments here below along with your opinion of the gaming laptop on review. If you have questions, leave them here below and I’ll answer as soon as I can.

All that’s left is to decide if Acer Nitro 5 is the laptop for you. Check it out here to see the latest price or to buy if you so desire. But hurry while stocks last.

Overview

So what is this Razer Blade 14 anyway?

Well, it’s a powerful gaming laptop from the Razer brand, that comes with:

    • Bright 14-inch Full HD or a QHD display
    • AMD Ryzen 9 processor
    • One of three GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards starting from the RTX 3060
    • Fast loading 1TB SSD for storage
    • 16GB of RAM

All this is cased in an all-black svelte-metal build, with its green signature snake-tangled logo, thin screen bezels, and an RGB-backlit keyboard. There are three models to choose from, each with its own set of prices. Yet it comes with the same AMD processor, same RAM, and SSD storage. The difference is in the graphics card and the display.

The Razer Blade 14 is so light.

It only weighs 3.92 pounds (1.78kg). This thing is so lightweight, you can carry it anywhere you go, and fits nicely in a bag, thanks to its compact size. Regardless, this is the Razer 14 gaming laptop. It has great specs. Looks great, and it’s lightweight.

What’s to Like

Good Quality Displays

The Razer 14 comes with two types of 14-inch displays. One with an FHD display with a 1080p screen resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The other comes with a QHD display with a 1440p screen resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. At first glimpse, I was impressed with the screen quality they both have. Even though the 1080p has lesser quality, the detail is still impressive.

The QHD screen is the more impressive of the two, producing better color, brightness, and even smoother Windows navigation. But for me, they both deliver the same great screen quality with good sharpness and accurate detail.  Overall, the two screens both deliver, and they deliver well for a small 14-inch gaming laptop.

Great Performance

All Razer 14 gaming laptops come with the latest AMD Ryzen 9 processor, with 16GB of memory, and one of the three latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards.

From normal usage and web browsing, the Razer 14 performs really well overall. There’s literally no slowing it down thanks to the high system RAM. The SSD storage not only provides plenty of storage but helps in loading Windows and other apps fast. With gaming, in normal or medium graphic settings, I managed to get an average of 105 – 120 fps. And on the high settings, I managed to get 90 – 100 fps.

This is from the Razer 14 base model, which includes a 1080p screen, and a GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. That being said, the frame rates are well over the benchmark 60 fps, which is great for gamers. And for those who want to push it a bit, you can still get a great gaming experience. Overall, the system and gaming performance is impressive. It handles normal tasks well, and gaming even better.

Design

If there’s one thing the Razer brand does and does so well, is maintaining its stunning laptop design, which includes its dark metal build, the green signature logo, the RGB keyboard layout, and the large yet extremely responsive trackpad. To conclude, the design is still the best. Some may argue it’s the same design for all their models (even older models), yet it looks good nonetheless.

I give them props for sticking to using something that works. In all honesty, these are some of the best features of the Razer Blade 14 gaming laptop. If you want to find out more, check it out here.

What’s not to Like

Small display

14 inches on a laptop is small. Most of the gaming laptops out there are 15 inches and higher and deliver good screen quality. Not to say that the screen size hinders the quality. The Razer 14 may be small, but thanks to other features, and great screen quality, you will quickly get used to the size.

Same laptop design

The design of the Razer Blade 14 gaming laptop does look stunning, but it’s no different from other great gaming laptops of the same brand. Check out the older Razer Blade gaming laptops, they are all the same. Is it really a bad thing though? I’ll let you ponder on that.

High price

With all the great things that come with this awesome Razer Blade 14 gaming laptop, there’s of course, the cost. The base model starts at US$1799, and the top-of-the-range model costs less than US$3000. That’s a lot to take in, and it’s really pricey for a base-model gaming laptop. But you get what you pay for. All three models offer a great user and gaming experience. Whichever one you choose, whatever budget.

Few input ports

The Razer 14 includes:

    • 2 x USB 3.1 Type-A
    • 2 x USB Type-C
    • 1 x HDMI

Nowadays laptops come with fewer input ports. Even Apple notebooks are keeping the trend. If you want more input ports, then it’s best you get a USB hub. Overall, these are features for you to not before you decide to get the Razer 14 laptop. It’s good to know what you getting yourself into.

Verdict

After messing around and reviewing this gaming laptop, I was impressed by a lot of things. Me, I love to play games so I was more impressed with the gaming performance. For gamers, this is one great laptop to get. Even with the base model, you will get the best gaming experience money cannot buy.

Knowing that I can get over 60fps, on AAA-type games, on high graphic settings… to me, that’s a bonus. Everything else contributes to the overall great user experience for normal everyday usage. My overall verdict is thus: The Razer Blade 14 is a great gaming laptop to buy.

Fine. The screen size is small and it’s expensive. But with the great things that come with it, it’s definitely worth it. So, I recommend this gaming laptop to all you fellow gamers out there, that want to have a great gaming experience. So if you want a great performance laptop, that can give a great gaming experience, then look no further.

Overview

The HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop comes in two models: the 15-inch and the 17-inch. The one here on review is the 15-inch model that comes with a 1080p 144Hz display. It also includes a 10th generation Intel i5 chip, with a GeForce GTX 1650 graphics chip, 256GB fast SSD storage drive, and 8GB of memory.

This is a rather older gaming laptop (released in 2019), but has a lot of great features, adequate specs for light or casual gaming, and comes at a decent price (under US$1000).

Anyone hunting around for a cheaper gaming laptop, that comes with good system performance, and plays the latest games, then the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop is for you. Let’s find out more from this review if you not convinced.

What’s to like

There’s a lot of reasons why you should give this gaming laptop a try.

Firstly, it comes with a Full HD IPS display, with a 60Hz refresh rate, and a screen resolution of up to 1080p. It produces decent views with good use of color and sharp images. What I’m trying to say is the display looks good. It’s not 4K but it’s expected in this price range.

Next, the speaker grill is placed on the top section of the keyboard, which is good for anyone using the laptop. The speakers are tuned by ‘Bang and Olufsen’. They really sound good and go quite loud.

Thirdly, the design of the gaming laptop looks decent and attractive in black and green. As you open it, you see the green backlit keyboard, with a large touchpad, and speakers on top.

Input ports included on the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop

On the flip side of the laptop is the green HP logo, on the left and right sides are the input ports, and at the bottom are the large air vents to help keep the laptop cool.

The HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop is equipped with a 52.5Wh battery back. With it, you can get up to six hours of web browsing, up to five hours of streaming and video play, and of battery.

For daily use, on average you are looking at up to 4 hours on battery. Nowadays it’s common for gaming laptops to have a short battery life, even at this price range.

The next feature is the HP Pavilion comes equipped with lots of input ports here. On the left side, there is the HDMI 2.1, a USB 3.1, an Ethernet port, a USB-C 3.1, and an SD card reader. Then on the right side, you will see two more USB 3.1, and a headphone/mic combo jack.

Then lastly is the system performance. It’s good but not great. With a gaming laptop at this price range, you can get a decent amount of work done, gaming, web browsing, and decent video streaming.

It’s not as strong as higher-priced laptops, but it’s expected at the current price range.

Overall, the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop is a decent-performing laptop. It comes with a lot of features that may mostly appeal to the laptop standards but these are common features for gaming laptops in this price range. If you want to see how much it goes for, click here.

What’s not to like

The HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop may come with some good features, but with gaming laptops, at this price range, you do encounter a few setbacks you need to note before purchasing.

First off, the build material is made of plastic. Not the most durable but it’s common with these gaming laptops at this price range.

Back and side view of the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop.

The second is the battery life is really short when gaming. It’s not really the best idea to play games on a gaming laptop on the battery as the hardware will consume a lot of power from the battery. So when you plan on having a long gaming session, it’s best to keep it plugged into a power source.

Thirdly, with the GeForce GTX 1650 graphics chip expect acceptable gaming performance here. If you like to play games like Fortnite then it will work in normal to high graphic settings, but as you play other A-list titles like Call of Duty, you will need to decrease your graphic settings to medium or low. Again, these are common with all gaming laptops in this price range.

Lastly, the cooling fans get quite loud but bearable during use, especially when your gaming. You cannot really get rid of it because the sound comes from the cooling fans. The only thing you can do really is to plug in headphones, otherwise, it’s another common feature with laptops.

Overall, most of these setbacks can be managed and others are bearable. Yet they are common in all gaming laptops, especially at this price range.

Verdict

In my opinion, the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop is not the most impressive. For the current price on offer, it really doesn’t need to be the best. The fact that it looks this good, comes with good features, and is affordable, makes it a product with great value.

If you think you can handle this gaming laptop, seeing all the pros and cons, then I recommend it. But for those who are looking for more then this one may not be for you.

Should you buy it?

Well, if you are looking for a really cheap gaming laptop, that has decent system performance, and good looks, then Yes, you should buy it.

If you can tolerate its limitations, like gaming in medium or low settings, then Yes, you should buy it.

Front view of the HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop.

If battery life, is an important requirement for gaming laptops, then you won’t find it here. Hence No, don’t buy it. You going to have to budget a lot more money to get to a faster gaming laptop.

Closing off

That’s all from me for now. Thank you for your time and for checking out this review. Please leave any questions or comments. I will greatly appreciate it, it helps and contributes to the overall ratings of wildbreaktech.com.

Reasons not to buy

  • Mediocre webcam
  • Loud cooling fans
  • Low battery life

Overview

The Lenovo Legion 5i is by far one of the best gaming laptops to get at an affordable price. It comes with the whole package: a great design, a good-looking keyboard with a great typing experience, a 15-inch Full HD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a good set of input ports. Under the hood, this laptop model reviewed includes a 10th generation Intel Core i7 chip, with 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD storage, and a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU that will bring you a smooth gaming experience. In terms of price, you’re looking at a price of less than US$1500 with the cheaper being less than US$1000. Overall, the Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop comes with great features. At a fair price (and costs less than other premium gaming laptops), it’s worth considering as your next mid-range gaming laptop.

What’s to like

Front view of the Lenovo Legion 5i

Wow, where do I start? First of all, it’s one of the most affordable gaming laptops. Next is the display. You get a 15-inch screen with a 1080p full HD technology, that includes a 144Hz refresh rate. Combine with a GeForce 2060 RTX graphics chip and you get a smooth gaming experience. You can also play the latest games as well.

The laptop design looks standard. It’s doesn’t draw unwanted attention, nor does it have any fancy RGB lighting, except for the backlit keyboard. You can even take it with you to work and no one will really notice that it’s a gaming laptop.

The overall performance of the Lenovo Legion 5i is great. For normal daily use, Windows 10 loads up quickly along with others programs thanks to the SSD storage drive, and the full HD display looks smooth, clear, and produces crisp and accurate colors.

For gamers, you can get away with gaming between high and ultra graphics settings with this review model, between 50fps and 60fps. It also looks smooth thanks to the 1080p display. Overall, no complaints here with the performance. It’s one of the best factors of this gaming laptop.

The Lenovo Legion 5i comes with a lot of input ports. The review model comes with a USB-C port, 4 USB 3 ports, an HDMI, a headphone/mic jack, and an Ethernet port. Maybe it’s not a wow factor but to me, there’s a lot of input ports. Let’s not forget, you also get Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well, which is standard for these gaming laptops. For an affordable gaming laptop, it includes some great features overall. Definitely worth the purchase.

What’s not to like

View of the clamshell Lenovo Legion 5i

The Legion 5i gaming laptop is a solid performer and an affordable gaming device, yet there are factors to note before you purchase it. Firstly, it includes a 720p webcam positioned well on the top side of the display. However, it does not display the best quality video. Secondly, the thermal cooling system works well to manage the heat but gets quite loud especially during long gaming sessions. This is expected from gaming laptops, especially affordable ones. The best thing to do is to use headphones during gaming.

Then lastly, the Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop has low battery life. On average you are looking at up to 4 hours of use daily. So yes, you need to keep your laptop charger handy, especially on the go. Overall, this gaming laptop has its faults but they are common with other affordable gaming laptops.

Verdict

So what can I say about the great and affordable but not perfect Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop? Well, it’s great. The overall performance, design, screen quality, and hardware specs, all make this gaming laptop one of the best to look out for when shopping. If you are a gamer and looking for an affordable gaming laptop money can buy, then this one has all the least good specs for you to play the latest games in the market in good quality.

However, it’s not perfect. It does have setbacks, but they are minor and pretty much common with all other gaming laptops in this price range. For me, the Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop is a definite recommendation. You can get all these great features, and a great gaming experience, at a fairly affordable price.

Should I buy it? Well, if you want a gaming laptop, just for casual or even long gaming sessions, then Yes, you should buy itIf you don’t have the budget for an expensive gaming laptop (which most of us don’t) but want one, then Yes, you should buy itIf you can compromise or tolerate the minor setbacks, and want to experience gaming from an affordable gaming laptop, then Yes, you should buy it

For what it’s worth, this is definitely a must-buy gaming laptop. So what’s the next time you should do? Well, I’ve given you all the info you need and my honest opinion about the Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop. Now it’s your turn to decide. But before you do that, click here to find more about this stunning yet affordable gaming laptop and see the latest price on offer.

REASONS TO BUY

  • Nice backlit keyboard
  • Long battery life for daily office use

REASONS NOT TO BUY

  • Plastic-build
  • Dim display on battery
  • Short battery life when gaming on battery
  • Noisy cooling fans

Overview

Before I start, let me share with you what the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is. If you haven’t yet figured it out, it’s a gaming laptop. In fact, it’s one of the most affordable gaming laptops in the market right now.

This gaming laptop comes with a 15-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It includes an older 9th gen Intel i7 chip, with 16GB of RAM, a fast loading 512GB SSD storage, and a 2060 RTX GeForce graphics card. This is awesome for those looking to start gaming on a gaming laptop.

What’s to like

So what’s to like about the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop? A lot of things actually.

It comes with a high refresh rate display that makes gaming and Windows look smoother to navigate and scroll through. It comes with a good hardware spec that contributes to the overall performance of the laptop.

The front view of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop.

The overall black-and-red design looks good. The red-backlit keyboard gives a stunning finish to it. Speaking of the keyboard, it offers a comfortable typing experience.

Battery life is great for daily office work. On average you are looking at about 6 hours of battery life.

The laptop has good thermal management. In other words, it can keep the laptop cool even under extreme circumstances.

Overall, these are the best features of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop and comes highly recommended.

What’s not to like

With all the good things the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop provides, it also comes with compromises.

The overall design and chassis of the gaming laptop are built from plastic material. Not exactly premium.

The laptop’s fan produces low noise on normal use but starts to get loud when gaming. It’s best to use headphones so it doesn’t affect your gaming experience.

The backlit keyboard and trackpad included on the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop.

The screen brightness is dim in battery mode. But as you plug it in near a power source, the display brightness is stabilized.

The battery life here is really short when you are gaming in battery mode. On average you are looking at less than two hours of gaming on battery.

Overall, the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop may not be the best on battery mode. Just keep it plugged in near a power source and it will work well.

Verdict

The Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is a lot of things. It’s fast-loading, sleek designed, has great system performance, and has a good-looking screen gaming laptop. At the same time, it has loud fans, and short battery life, especially when you gaming on battery.

It is quite disappointing because you cannot really use it for long hours on battery. It needs to be near a power source to get the best of it.

Then you need to realize that right now all gaming laptops, even the top-range laptops, have a similar challenge in terms of short battery life, and the hardware works to its peak when it’s plugged in.

So if you looking for a portable gaming laptop that you can comfortably play where ever you go, then you won’t find it here.

The back view of the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop.

Overall, the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is great for those who are looking for a good gaming experience. With the model reviewed, you can play most of the top games in the market right.

Should I get it?

With that being said, I recommend the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop, under the following conditions.

For starter gamers, that just want a gaming laptop for casual gaming, then yes buy it.

For those looking for an affordable gaming laptop and can’t afford the top-range, then yes buy it.

For those looking for a gaming laptop to play games anyway, then yes buy it, but that depends if you will be close to a power source. If not, then no.

Asus TUF Gaming Laptop FX505 Review: Impressive & Affordable

Asus TUF Gaming Laptop FX505 Review: Impressive & Affordable

Over the years, the demand for top-range, powerful gaming laptops has dropped. Even if you finally get the money you’ve spent months saving up it, months later out comes a better gaming laptop at an even higher price.

So you need to ask yourself, was it really worth it?

Nowadays, gamers look for mid-range, even affordable alternatives. One of such to consider is the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505. Not only for gaming but for business owners, creative artists, developers, etc. Without further ado, here is my review of the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505.

Asus TUF Gaming Laptop FX505

DISPLAY: 15.6-inch, Full HD LED, (1920 x 1080), 60Hz/120Hz | CPU: Intel Core i5-9300H/AMD Ryzen 7 3750H | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB/RTX 2060 8GB DDR6 | MEMORY: 4/8GB DDR4 | STORAGE: 512GB/1TB SSD | OS: Windows 10 Home | WEIGHT: 4.9 lbs (2.2 kg) | OTHER FEATURES: WiFi, Bluetooth, 720p webcam, HDMI, RGB Backlit keyboard | RATING: 4.1 out of 5

Overview

The Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 is a budget laptop that is specially designed for people that like to play video games. Not that it’s meant for gamers, it can also be used as a normal laptop to help you with corporate work, run your business, type documents, browse online and video streaming.

Compared to a normal budget laptop, it has a top-class hardware spec and unique features in the design.

Display

Here are good points to say about the display. Firstly, it’s a 15-inch with thin bezels on each side of the screen.

Second, it supports full HD with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 and runs at 60Hz.

Thirdly, the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 displays images pretty well. It has nice viewing angles, good colour accuracy, good management of brightness and contrasts.

Overall, it’s a normal display that tops 1080p, running at 60fps. No touchscreen here, but if it had that feature it would cost so much more.

Design

The Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 is made of a black plastic matte finish with the Asus logo center placed behind the display.

The 720p webcam is placed on the top section of the display. Next are the backlit RGB keyboard and a touchpad.

Input ports include: 1x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.2, 1x USB 2.0, ethernet port, and headphone jack. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity also available.

The design is not that breathtaking as the Alienware gaming laptop but it’s different from a normal clamshell laptop. You really notice the difference from the round corners to the matte finish texture.

The RGB backlit keyboard livens the laptop. It really glows bright, especially in low-lit areas.

Overall, the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 is well designed. It does have a few finishing touches here and there, but not something to really go ‘WOW’ about. It works well and makes it look good at its price.

Performance

For normal everyday tasks, the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 performs pretty well, thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 processor, and 8GB of memory. The SSD contributes as well as it helps to lower load times of Windows, software and other apps stored.

The Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU is not only good for gaming but also helps to optimize the display as well.

Speaking of gaming, RTX 2060 is a better performance option than the GTX 1650. PC games run smoother with better-detailed graphics.

Overall, the entry-level model is a preferable option for those looking to do everyday tasks with little consideration for gaming. If you consider the latter, then expect a better performance gaming laptop but will cost relatively more thanks to the 2060 RTX.

Other Features

With the battery life, the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 is pretty short. It’s so short, you are looking at up to 2 hours of battery life, which is really not that good. This can be due to prolonged gaming sessions as it uses so much of your battery. It’s best that you keep it plugged in during gaming sessions.

The Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 comes with a ‘dual-fan system’ that helps to keep it cool.  It does make a noise but it’s tolerable. Wearing headphones is a good way not to hear it.

Impressions

The Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505 is good but not the best gaming laptop to have. There are a number of good gaming laptops available at this price range, and all have a few things in common.

First, you can play all PC games but at medium or low graphic settings. The graphics will not look as good, but the gameplay will be better.

Secondly, they are made of plastic. It’s not really a bad thing, but it’s something note.

Thirdly, if you can get the same model gaming laptop with a better GPU, then it’s worth considering. It will improve gaming performance overall.

With that being said, the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505, is one of the more affordable gaming laptops to buy, but (with my recommendation), make sure that it has storage space at least 512GB, that the hard drive is an SSD, 8GB or higher of system memory is good enough, and the GPU is at least an Nvidia GTX 1650. I prefer the Nvidia RTX 2060 as it’s a better-performing GPU.

To sum up, I’m happy with the performance, and the features of the Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505. It may be lacking in some areas, but remember this is a budget gaming laptop. Compromises are expected.

This is a great starter for those who want to experience a gaming laptop, and what better way to experience that with an affordable Asus TUF gaming laptop FX505. Click here to see the price.

Should you buy it?

Yes!

If you are looking for an affordable gaming laptop. If you are focused on light casual gaming and the ability to handle everyday tasks, then the entry model with the 1650 GTX GPU is the better option. But if you want a more gaming laptop then the 2060 RTX with 16GB memory is the better option.

Yes!

If you want a great performance laptop that can help you with corporate or business tasks. It’s an affordable option but there are even more affordable laptops (like Chromebooks to consider). They won’t have the same specs as this one.

No!

If you want more hours of battery life, then you won’t find it here. Most gaming laptops nowadays have the same problem even top range gaming laptops

The next Razer Blade gaming laptop is the Razer Blade 15 Advanced. This is the much-improved version of the base Razer Blade 15. It comes with a more powerful Intel i7 processor, a higher refresh rate, more storage, and more battery life.

It may be better than the base but it packs a little more weight yet is still portable, the same design as the Blade15, and fans get loud but bearable in high-performance mode. Overall, this is a great Razer Blade gaming laptop. It’s more powerful than the base model but nothing has really changed in the looks department. If you’re looking for a more powerful gaming laptop, then this one’s for you. It’s pretty expensive but it definitely makes up for it.

Razer Blade Stealth 13

CPU: Quad-core Intel Core i7 | GPU: Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti | RAM: 16GB | Screen: 13.3-inch FHD (1,920 x 1,080) / 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) IPS 60Hz | Storage: 512GB SSD | Battery: 53.1Wh | Weight: 2.82 / 3.04 lbs (1.28 / 1.38 kg) | Rating: 3.8 out of 5

REASONS TO BUY

  • Impressive 120Hz refresh rate
  • Acceptable battery life
  • Really thin & lightweight
  • Works well with older gaming titles
  • Acceptable performance

REASONS TO AVOID

  • 4K not great on 13-inch screen
  • Typing uncomfortable
  • A single color RGB keyboard
  • Heats up upon long use

The Stealth13 is not much of a gaming laptop as it lacks the better things that make its larger-screened big brothers great. Yet it’s still a Razer Blade gaming laptop with a smaller but great quality 13-inch screen, good design, a high-performance processor, a mid-range GPU, plenty of space, and up to 7 hours of battery life.

The best feature is the impressive full HD screen at a 120Hz refresh rate. It produces a good-quality display with bright, lively colors. There’s also the more expensive one with a 4K screen but it doesn’t really mix well with a 13-inch.

With performance, the Stealth13 gets top marks for outstanding everyday uses but lacks the best means for top gaming titles. Play older and casual games, it works well. Play newer games and hardware-demanding games, but it doesn’t work so well. Because of the mid-range GPU, you’ll have to play those games on normal graphic settings.

Other drawbacks include uncomfortable typing experiences and heating of the laptop after long gaming sessions. Overall, this is Razer’s budget gaming laptop. It comes with an impressive quality screen, great looks, good performance, and good battery life. It’s good for light gaming sessions, it’s easy to carry, and for doing everyday tasks.

Check here for other great budget gaming laptop alternatives, but if the Razer Blade Stealth 13 meets your needs, then it’s a great choice.

Razer Blade Pro 17

CPU: 8-core Intel Core i7 | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 / 2080 Super | RAM: 16GB | Screen: 17.3-inch FHD 300Hz / 4K Touch 120Hz | Storage: 512GB / 1TB SSD | Battery: 70.5Wh | Weight: 6.06 lbs (2.75 kg) | Rating: 4.2 out of 5

REASONS TO BUY

  • Large & fastest 17-inch screen at 300Hz
  • Impressive gaming and CPU performance
  • Great audio output
  • Sleek design

REASONS TO AVOID

  • Really expensive
  • 3 hours battery life
  • Almost 3 kg
  • Cooling fans get loud

The Razor Blade Pro 17 is the top-range gaming laptop in the Razer Blade series.  The difference here is that it comes with a larger 17-inch, full HD or 4K screen, with a top-performance Intel i7 processor, bigger storage, and the best line of GeForce RTX series GPU.

Expect smoother gameplay with gorgeous-looking graphics at work or at play. This is by far the best-performance Razer Blade gaming laptop ever produced by Razer. With the best comes a high price, literally. This is one of the most expensive gaming laptops made. It has average battery life, weighs close to 6 pounds (3kg), and includes loud but bearable cooling fans.

Is it worth the buy? If you want one of the fastest, high-performance gaming laptops, then yes this it’s worth getting, but the high price will cause us to turn the other way. But if you have the means, get the Razer Blade Pro. Overall, the Razer Blade Pro 17 deserves the title of best Razer Blade gaming laptop has the best performance, an impressively large screen, great for gaming.

Verdict

I have to admit, there are really great Razer Blade gaming laptops. They each have great features and deliver great gaming performance. Not much change from previous models in terms of design, but they go with what works. These gaming laptops here are expensive, and the average battery life on normal gaming laptops may be a hit or miss for some, but the short time you use it for gaming is worth the risk.

Best gaming performance is the selling product here and Razer does it really well. If you can afford it, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced is your best bet. Stick to the Full HD version. 4K definitely looks great too but you may have to dig deeper into your pocket.

The Razer Blade Pro is also a great buy, yet it’s really expensive. If you can afford it, then get it. Just be mindful of the short battery life and the weight. Another thing you can do is look at previous models. They will be less expensive and can still play the latest AAA title games. Asus Zephyrus G14 Review: Best Mid-range Gaming Laptop

Asus Zephyrus G14 Review. The best gaming laptops are usually the top-performing gaming devices, that include top-range hardware and unique features, but not everyone can afford to experience the luxuries and satisfaction because of the high price tag. Nowadays, mid-range gaming laptops are less expensive but come with compromises in hopes of gaining customers in a gaming market. One such is the Asus Zephyrus G14, a mid-range gaming laptop that is challenging the gaming market and is in line to be one of the best gaming laptops this year. But is it worth the investment? Here’s the Asus Zephyrus G14 Review.

Asus Zephyrus G14

14-inch FHD 120Hz (1920×1080)  |  AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS 3.0GHz CPU  |  NVIDIA RTX 2060 Max-Q 6GB GDDR6 GPU  |  16/24/40GB DDR4 RAM  |  1/2/4TB PCle NVMe SSD  |  4-Cell 76WHr Battery  |  Windows 10 Home/Pro  |  3.5 lbs (1.6 kg)  |  includes WiFi, Bluetooth, backlit keyboard, input ports include 2xUSB type-C, 1xHDMI, 2xUSB 3, 3.5mm audio jack

Overview

The Zephyrus G14 is a mid-range gaming laptop that comes with a 14-inch full HD display, with a backlit keyboard, touchpad, and input ports that include 2 USB Type-C, 2 USB 3, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Under the hood, the Zephyrus G14 is equipped for gaming with the latest hardware including an AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, an NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD internal storage (entry-level).

Display and Design

The Zephyrus G14 comes in two models, the 14-inch with a 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz, and the 1440p resolution with a refresh rate of 60Hz. others prefer the Zephyrus G14 with a 1080p 120Hz, the 1440p has a high refresh rate that translates to a better, clearer, and nicer display than the latter, the 1080p has good display quality but there is a slight delay in response time, however, it’s rare to find a gaming laptop with a high resolution in a 14-inch display that has that great detail.

The design looks great. The build material is made of strong magnesium alloy. The two colors available are white/silver and grey/silver. The Zephyrus comes with an LED animation panel on the back of the display, that you can use to customize to your liking. It shows animations such as dates, time, memes, short animations, logos, etc., which is a nice feature at first but after a while, it becomes really unnecessary. In essence, it’s a great 14-inch laptop that packs a solid design, unique features, and amazing display quality.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard is a standard QWERTY layout, with well-spaced out keys, comfortable to type, very responsive and has unique key layout design. The drawback here is the back-lighting of the keyboard. It’s not very bright. In fact, it’s better with it off in a dim room. The touchpad is there. It works well. Nothing special to it. In short, the keyboard has a great layout. The back-lighting is not great, and the touch-pad is there and works well.

Performance

The Zephyrus G14 is run by AMD’s latest Ryzen 9 4000 series processor that is set to challenge the brands like Intel. According to CPU performance tests done, this gaming laptop beats the processing performance of the well-known Razer Blade 15 and matches Intel’s i9 processing speeds included in top range gaming laptops.

In short, this gaming laptop comes with great system performance that matches even the top-range gaming laptops.

Battery

It’s a great surprise to see that the Zephyrus G14 has an impressive battery life, compared to other gaming laptops. With this gaming laptop, you are looking at a 76Whr battery, that’s guaranteed to give you up to 12 hours of battery life.

That’s nearly double the battery life compared to other gaming laptops as the normal endurance for a gaming laptop is up to 5 hours. No need to take your laptop charger anymore whenever you go out because you won’t need it. So if you want a gaming laptop with great battery life, then the Zephyrus G14 is it.

Sound

Zephyrus G14 comes with two speakers on the sides of the keyboard and two more at the bottom. They produce good quality audio for a mid-range gaming laptop, not the best but enough to enjoy yourself while playing games.

Other Features

A few things to note about the Zephyrus G14. The heat management is good. The cooling fans do however make a noise but not very loud. There is a manual mode to switch to if you wish to amp up the cooling fans, but it increases the noise. There’s a fingerprint sensor on the power button as a security feature to quickly log back in from standby mode. it’s a pretty convenient feature as it’s very responsive, similar to a fingerprint sensor on a smartphone.

Input ports include a 2 USB-C, 2 USB-3, an HDMI, 3.5 mm headphone/microphone jack, and the laptop charger port. Just to note, the charger port is on the middle-left side of the laptop, and there’s no Ethernet port and micro SD slot. The laptop comes with a unique hinged lid that raises the back end of the laptop slightly when opened. It elevates the keyboard at a more comfortable angle and raises up the display just a bit for more comfortable viewing.

Verdict

The Zephyrus G14 isn’t just a great gaming laptop; it’s the smallest on the market and gets the award for one of the longest-lasting batteries. The display is great, the audio is rich and robust, and the performance offered by the latest AMD Ryzen 9 processor, together with the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, is the best that you’ll find. The fact that you can get all of this for an unbelievably better price is pretty amazing.

It’s not the perfect gaming laptop though and will come with faults, like the missing webcam and the not-sure-bright backlit keyboard. But aside from these minor matters, the Zephyrus G14 is an astonishingly capable and well-designed gaming laptop. It delivers better performance than any other same-sized gaming laptop.

It matches the performance of even the more expensive Razer Blade Pro, it’s less expensive and more portable than the closest rivals. I love it. I strongly recommend it to all fellow gamers looking for a cheaper alternative. This is by far the best small beast of a gaming laptop ever made.

Amazingly Good but Cheap Gaming Laptops to Buy Now in 2020

Gaming laptops are one of the best sources of entertainment, whether you’re a pro or a casual gamer. Problem is that the best ones are really expensive right now so if one is looking, they would have to dig deep in their pockets.

However, there’s hope for those who are looking for good but cheap gaming laptops. So if you’re one of those, then this here will help you. Why? Because it covers affordable gaming laptops to see and consider investing in.

Acer Nitro 5

15.6-inch FHD IPS (1920×1080) | AMD Ryzen 5 2500U CPU | 8GB RAM | 1TB HDD Storage | ATI Radeon RX 560X GPU | Windows 10 Home

Rating: 4 out of 5

Pros

    • Decent gaming performance
    • Good battery life
    • Thinner display bezels
    • Plenty of storage space
    • Able to control cooling fans

Cons

    • Troublesome touch-pad
    • Mediocre sound quality
    • HDD not SSD

The first out of the good but cheap gaming laptops is the Acer Nitro 5.  It’s a gaming laptop placed in the budget range and is perfect for those looking for one that can handle the most demanding games.

This one comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 quad-core processor, an ATI Radeon RX 560X graphics card, 1TB HDD hard drive, and 8GB RAM. On the outside, it comes with a full HD 1080p screen with thin display bezels and a comfortable and single RGB backlit keyboard.

The overall performance is good, especially in gaming. It runs games well at medium to high graphic settings. The laptop design is good, has decent screen quality, and comes with a dual cooling system that you can control for long gaming sessions.

The sound is not one to say ‘Wow’ to, but it works. The touchpad becomes frustrating at times. Best that you get yourself a portable mouse and good quality headphones for a better gaming experience.

It would also be a better idea to include SSD storage instead of an HDD, as it’s a better performance hard drive. But I suppose that would make it more expensive.

Overall, If you can manage the setbacks, this will become a good but cheap gaming laptop for you. The gameplay is decent with good performance and good visuals. It’s available now priced under US$1000. So get it while stocks last.

HP Pavilion 17

17.3-inch FHD IPS (1920×1080) | Intel Core i5-9300H CPU | 16GB RAM | 256GB SSD Storage | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU | Windows 10 Home

Rating: 4.6 out of 5

Pros

    • Unique look and design
    • Low price for a big 17-inch
    • Good overall performance
    • Good audio output
    • Decent cooling

Cons

    • Smaller storage
    • Plastic material built body

The HP Pavilion 17 is the next in the good but cheap gaming laptops category. It comes with a big 17-inch full HD screen, a plastic body finish with a single RGB backlit keyboard. Inside is a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage drive.

This is a good performance gaming laptop, thanks to more memory, and a bigger screen. It delivers decent gaming performance at medium to high graphic settings. The sound comes out well as its speakers are placed on top, and the thermal heating is well controlled.

The downside is the internal storage, and the plastic body finish. The drive is SSD, which is the better performance hard drive, but it comes at 256GB. That’s a small storage space but can be upgraded. The plastic build material used for the chassis body is common with budget gaming laptops and is not really favored by most people.

Overall, the HP Pavilion gaming laptop is a must-have. Good gaming performance, well-managed cooling, good sound output, and the huge display make it worth the buy. If you want a more affordable gaming laptop with a bigger screen at the affordable price offered, then this one’s for you.

ASUS TUF A15

15.6-inch 144Hz FHD IPS (1920×1080) | AMD Ryzen 7 4800H CPU | 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD Storage | NVIDIA GTX 1660i GPU | Windows 10 Home

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Pros

    • Good gaming performance
    • Nice dark logo art on top
    • Good cooling system
    • Good battery life
    • Good price for a 17-inch

Cons

    • Mediocre sound quality
    • Below mediocre touch-pad

The ASUS TUF A15 is another budget gaming laptop from ASUS. It comes with a smaller 15.6-inch screen with an aluminum and plastic finish and a single RGB backlit keyboard. Inside includes an 8-core Ryzen 7 series processor with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660i graphics card, 512GB SSD internal storage, and 16GB of RAM.

This gaming laptop is another great buy. It can play most gaming titles well at normal to high graphic settings. The cooling thermals keep their temperature low. Battery life tested up to 5 hours and comes with a 144Hz display. Overall, you get another great gaming at a reasonable price.

The keyboard is comfortable but the touch-pad gets frustrating at times, best you use a portable mouse for this one. The sound is acceptable but not the best. It does get loud but since speakers are placed underneath, it lowers the quality. Best you get headphones for this one.

Overall, this definitely deserves a place with the good but cheap gaming laptops category. It’s well made and is a great buy. Right now, it’s priced less, so if this one is more to your liking, then give it a go and enjoy the experience.

MSI GF63 THIN

15.6-inch 120Hz FHD IPS (1920×1080) | Intel Core i7-9750H CPU | 8GB RAM | 512GB SSD Storage | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU | Windows 10 Home

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Pros

    • Really lightweight
    • Decent battery life
    • Nice backlit colour keyboard
    • Best in medium graphic settings
    • Good heat management

Cons

    • Keyboard too soft to use
    • Average sound output

The MSI GF63 Thin is a high-performance gaming laptop available at a low price. This one comes with a 6-core Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti graphics card, with 8GB memory, and 512GB SSD storage. On the outside, is a 15.6-inch display with full HD 1080p quality, and a black-and-red design finish.

The GF63 is a great gaming laptop thanks to its great overall gaming performance. With up to 5-hours of battery life, lightweight, and good heat management, you can’t go wrong. Common budget gaming laptops get better performance at medium to high graphic settings and this one is no different.

However, it does sacrifice performance for portability. The lighter the gaming laptop, the less the gaming performance expected. The speakers placed underneath really dampens the sound quality. The keyboard looks, great thanks to the red RGB backlit keyboard, but it’s too soft and will take a while to get used to. Best to get portable headphones when gaming.

Overall, this gaming laptop is a good buy. It’s well designed, really lightweight, and best for gamers who like to play games on the go. If this one’s your pick, get it now.

Overall Impressions

And there you have. Good but cheap gaming laptops to consider if you looking for a cheap gaming device. The common thing to note here is that with these budget gaming laptops, sacrifices were made to lower the price. Typical features include:

    • Plastic builds quality material

    • Use of budget hardware such as HDD instead of SSD

The Apprentice’s Ultimate Guide to Best Buy Gaming Laptop

The Apprentice’s Ultimate Guide to Best Buy Gaming Laptop

The world is on lockdown thanks to the recent global epidemic. Most of us are at home, doing exercises, working from home, and doing other recreational activities. But what about gaming, do you have the best buy gaming laptop to keep you busy? If you’re looking for a gaming laptop and don’t know where to start, then here are important things to consider before buying yourself a gaming laptop.

Big Screen

The first best buy gaming laptop tip is to know the screen size and screen resolution. The bigger the screen, the better your gaming experience will be.

Right now the best gaming laptop manufacturers are building laptops that come with 15 or 17-inch displays.

Choosing a gaming laptop with a 17-inch is much more preferable as it has greater screen quality but is more expensive. A 15-inch is much cheaper but will mean compromising on the screen quality.

The screen resolution is also a factor to consider as it adds to the overall display quality. 1920 x 1080 is the least to consider and has a similar quality to a Full HD TV. Higher than that is a great bonus to screen quality.

The point is, to choose a gaming laptop with a bigger display. Bigger is better display quality. The screen resolution must not be less than 1920 x 1080.

Graphics Card

The second best buy gaming laptop factor is the graphics card.  If the gaming laptop doesn’t come with a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), then it’s not a gaming laptop. It’s the most important thing to have, as you’ll get to play Top A list PC games.

There are two brands: ATI Radeon or NVidia GeForce. Most gaming laptops come with either of them. They are the best in delivering great gameplay plus great visuals and graphics.

So, another point, get a gaming laptop with either ATI Radeon or NVidia GeForce GPU.

RAM and Processor

RAM is the overall system memory that helps laptops to manage and store multiple apps or software that are on standby.

The higher the RAM, the more apps it can manage, the better the system performance. It’s best to get a gaming laptop with RAM higher than 8GB.

In terms of processor, it helps to manage the overall functions of a laptop or computer. Top gaming laptops have good processing power, which helps to improve gaming performance. The common brands are Intel core i7 to i9 series or AMD Ryzen series.

Get a gaming laptop with a good processor. One with an Intel Core i7 or an AMD Ryzen processor is the best to consider.

Price of Gaming Laptops

The last best buy gaming laptop factor is the price. It’s not a good idea really to get a cheap gaming laptop because you will not get the full gaming experience. But they are expensive so you need to work with your budget.

If you’re pressed for time and need a gaming laptop but your budget is tight, then I suggest not to. Save up some money per month until you can come up with a high enough amount or matches the exact price of that mid-range or top-range gaming laptop you’ve been waiting for.

Another thing is that older top gaming laptops are cheaper now (one or two years old), and can still play the latest top A list games. So keep your eyes open and check for the latest gaming laptop deals online or at retail outlets.

The point here is, gaming laptops are really expensive, so it’s best you save up money and buy a good gaming laptop. Look out for older top-range laptops as they’re cheaper and can still play the latest top PC games.

To Finish off

Consider these factors to help you get the best buy gaming laptop. But this is for those who are really into gaming or want to start a new hobby.

If you stick to these guidelines you will end up getting the best gaming laptop you can afford, and have a great gaming experience.

To start off, here are some cheap gaming laptops for you to consider. But if you’re looking for top-rated gaming laptops check them here.

What We Ought to Know about Samsung Gaming Laptops

What We Ought to Know about Samsung Gaming Laptops

Did you know that Samsung has its own series of gaming laptops? Well, they do, and there are three models. Three gaming laptops to choose from, code name: Odyssey, and they all differ in price, hardware specs, and design. Let’s see if these Samsung gaming laptops are worth your investment.

Samsung Gaming Laptop Odyssey (9750H/GTX1650)

15.6-inch FHD LED Display (1920 x 1080) | Intel Core i7-9750H | 16GB DDR4 | 512GB SSD | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5 | Windows 10 Home | 1-Year Warranty

The first Samsung gaming laptop is the entry-level Odyssey (9750H/GTX1650). Out of the three gaming laptops, it’s the most affordable and a great gaming laptop to buy if you have a tight budget.

The gaming laptop comes with a 15-inch full HD display, with a normal QWERTY keyboard and touchpad, and is available with a nice silver matte finish.

Internally, the Samsung gaming laptop is powered by a 9th generation Intel Core i7 processor, with 16GB of system memory, internal storage of 512GB SSD, and comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX series graphics card or GPU. To finish off, it’s preinstalled with Windows 10 operating system.

To me, this is a good gaming laptop. It has good hardware components that contribute to the overall great system performance, and to top it off, the graphics card gives it that extra gorgeous visual and great gameplay.

For an entry-level gaming laptop, it’s priced above US$1000 which puts it in the mid-range price range. The hard drive is not bad at over 500GB and it’s an SSD, meaning windows and apps will most definitely boot faster.  The NVIDIA graphics card is good but not the best, so it can handle PC games but you’ll need to tweak the graphic settings in-game.

Overall, the first entry Samsung gaming laptop has a good set of specs making it a powerful gaming laptop. If you are looking for an affordable gaming laptop and can afford this midrange price, then this may be the one for you. Click down here below to find out more and to purchase it.

Samsung Gaming Laptop Odyssey Z

15.6-inch FHD LED Display (1920 x 1080) | Intel Core i7-8750H | 16GB DDR4 | 256GB SSD | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 | Windows 10 Home | 1-Year Warranty

The next Samsung gaming laptop is the middle child of the three; the Samsung gaming laptop called Odyssey Z. Externally, it comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD screen, with a RGB back-lit keyboard and touchpad on the side, and designed with a grey titan finish.

Inside it comes with an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of system memory, 256GB SSD hard drive, and comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX series graphics card or GPU. It comes with Windows 10 operating system preinstalled in the gaming laptop.

This gaming laptop also comes with a good hardware spec, that has the same processor and memory, but a smaller hard drive but a more powerful graphics card.

It’s a lot more expensive, definitely puting it in the midrange price range. The internal hard drive has less storage capacity, but with the more powerful graphics card, it will boost gaming graphics and performance, making gaming better and more enjoyable.

Overall, the middle child Samsung gaming laptop has a more powerful graphics card with good system performance, but the price and smaller hard drive may cause gamers to look elsewhere. If this one is in your budget and want a better gaming experience, then consider getting this gaming laptop. Click here below to find out more..

Samsung’s Premium Gaming Laptop Odyssey

15.6-inch FHD LED Display (1920 x 1080) | Intel Core i7-8750H | 16GB DDR4 | 512GB SSD | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 | Windows 10 Home | 1-Year Warranty

Now here’s Big brother. The Headliner. The premium Samsung gaming laptop. This gaming laptop comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display with an RGB backlit keyboard and touchpad, comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home, and is available in a gorgeous jet-black finish.

Inside is an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of system memory, 512GB SSD internal storage, and comes with one of NVIDIA’s top market GeForce RTX series graphics GPU.

The big brother gaming laptop here also has good hardware specs, which means that this laptop has good system performance. The hard drive is fine at more than 500GB, and the graphics card is more powerful than the three. The more powerful the graphics card, the better the gaming performance, the better the gaming experience.

The price of the Samsung gaming laptop is not that high but it’s more affordable than the other powerful laptops. One drawback is that other similar spec gaming laptops have bigger displays with better quality, yet this one is 15-inch. It would be better as a 17-inch.

If you’re looking for a gaming laptop that has a good system and gaming performance, but with a 15-inch screen and is more affordable, then this one is for you. Click here below to take a look and the opportunity to purchase it.

My Thoughts

These three Samsung gaming laptops each come with similar hardware specs meaning great performance for daily usage and gaming.

Sadly, they each have the same screen size, which is okay for the two entry and midrange gaming laptops, but not for the premium jet black model. It would be better off if the big brother came with a bigger screen display, like a 17-inch, because a bigger display would mean better quality features, meaning better graphics, better game-play, and better gaming experience.

What You Need to Know About Gaming Laptop Specs

What you need to know about gaming laptop specs. So, you want a gaming laptop? That's great. Do you know why they're so good to have and why they are so powerful? If yes, great, you can scroll along with the article and see the latest gaming laptop deals. If not, don't worry because we will go eight things to help you know what gaming laptop specs in the gaming laptops are all about.

If you're new to gaming laptops, then it's a good idea to understand what the gaming laptop specs are all about and what they do. So read on and see what you must know about gaming laptop specs.

Intel Core or AMD Processor

Firstly, the most important gaming laptop spec to know is the processor. It is known as the brain of the gaming laptop because it runs everything. It also:

  • Determines how fast the gaming laptop works
  • Handles the overall basic and complex tasks
  • Optimizes photo editing, video rendering, and gaming

Intel and AMD are two of the best brands that make desktop or laptop processors today.

Many gaming communities prefer gaming laptops with Intel Core processors because of the better performance at the cost of a higher price. Whereas, others prefer gaming laptops with the AMD processors because it sells at an affordable price.

They both perform wells but if you notice, laptops with AMD processors are more affordable than Intel Core laptops.

Normally, top gaming laptops include either an Intel Core i7 or an AMD Ryzen R7 processor. They both do the job to make sure that the system performs to maximize gaming.

So, when you're looking for a gaming laptop, you're going to have to choose between an Intel or an AMD processor. The better processor for performance is Intel but it costs more, but gaming laptops with an AMD processor are more affordable.

Which one you choose, is up to you. Many gamers prefer the high-performance Intel Core processor, but they are both made for high performance, even in gaming laptops.

NVIDIA or ATI GPU

The next thing to know about gaming laptop specs is the GPU (the Graphics Processing Unit).

The GPU in gaming laptops, and graphics cards in desktops, send back and forth electronic signals to your monitor or screen. From there it converts them to images that you see on screen. There are two types integrated and dedicated/discreet.

Integrated graphics use the system memory or RAM from the laptop or desktop computer to run, whereas dedicated graphics use their own source of system memory to run.

Gaming laptops come with both integrated and dedicated graphics but dedicated graphics are supplied by either Nvidia GeForce or ATI Radeon GPUs. The additional system memory, from dedicated GPU, runs to make the best use for gaming, video, and photo editing apps.

All you need to understand is that either one of the two GPU providers, Nvidia and ATI, is inside gaming laptops and helps to run PC games in gaming laptops using dedicated graphics.

My advice, get a gaming laptop with either at least a GeForce GTX 1060 from Nvidia or an ATI Radeon 7730M. If you can get a better GPU, that's well and good but they tend to cost more. Overall, the top-range GPUs are better and will provide a better gaming performance.

Upgrade RAM or System Memory

Thirdly, the next thing to understand about gaming laptop specs is the system memory or RAM (Random Access Memory).

It helps to store information that the laptop or desktop computer is actively using for fast and easy access. The more apps you open up and use at one time, the more system memory the laptop needs.

Gaming laptops nowadays come with at least 8GB of RAM. That's the minimum if you want a good gaming experience. Check the hardware spec to make sure it says 8GB upwards. Also check if you have the option of upgrading the system memory, from 8 to 16GB or 32GB for example. It helps to add more to the increase in the overall system performance.

Internal Storage Space

So how much data, documents, media, and even PC games do you want to store on your hard drive? The next thing to know about gaming laptop specs is the internal storage space.

With internal storage, make sure you get a big enough hard drive to store your PC games and system apps or software. Nowadays, gaming laptops come with either 512GB or 1TB of internal storage, so any of those is great. When your hard drive gets full, you can either delete software or get extra storage by getting an external hard drive.

Check the hardware spec as well to see if it's either HDD or SSD. HDD can store up to 2TB of data but SSDs access information faster. So you either want more internal storage space but slow access to information or less internal storage but faster information access. yours.

In the future, you never know that one day we can get laptops with more SSD internal storage. Keep a lookout.

Warranties and Guarantees Offered

This is not part of the gaming laptop spec, but it's good to know the warranty of the gaming laptop so that if something goes wrong, and it's just a minor thing, you can send it back to the manufacturer for repairs.

Before you buy a gaming laptop, check the brand's warranties or guarantees.  It's best to see what they have on offer if things go wrong. Nowadays, it's much more preferable to get two years or more, for instance, all Dell laptops have a three-year warranty.

Just be aware of these warranties and guarantees they are offering, as it will prolong the life of your gaming laptop and will also grant you many more years of gaming.

Game-pad or Keyboard

Another thing to know is if you like gaming on a normal keyboard and mouse or a game-pad. It's not a gaming laptop spec, but it's a good option to know that if you like gaming on a game-pad, then there's an option for that.

So do you prefer playing PC games with a keyboard and mouse, or with a game-pad? I prefer a game-pad. Most PC gamers prefer the keyboard and mouse for first-person shooter games like Overwatch or Call of Duty, but hey, it's your call.

If you didn't know this, you can connect a game-pad to your gaming laptop. That's for those who prefer gaming with a game-pad. If you have a console and have the software, you can connect them to your laptop as well.

Check the Quality of the Display

Next is the size of the display, another gaming laptop spec to consider. Gaming laptops that are 17 or 18-inch have better quality visuals, but are heavier to carry. 13 or 14-inch laptops are lighter, more portable and easier to carry, but lack the high features of bigger laptop displays.

So a gaming laptop with a bigger display is better if you want smoother game-play, best graphics, and texture quality, whereas a smaller screen gaming laptop is better for you if you like gaming on the go.

Touchscreen for Gaming Laptops

The next gaming spec to know is the consideration f getting a touchscreen gaming laptop.

A touchscreen laptop is a good idea, as it lets you interact with a laptop like a tablet. But it's not a good idea with a gaming laptop. Why?

Two reasons: (1) It drains more battery power than normal laptops, especially during long gaming sessions, and (2) It's going to make your laptop display look all glossy unless you looking at a shiny screen.

If you must get one, then you better invest in a 2-in-1 laptop or a tablet. It's lighter, has great all-day battery power, and is able to switch to tablet mode. Just make sure it has a good graphics card if you want a 2-in-1 gaming laptop.

Closing off
